So many block alerts on my iphone today I'm going to have to recharge my phone early.  |

... and anyone concerned about 0.16.3 ... I've updated all nodes and and main server to (my slightly modified) 0.16.3 today after core revealed the truth they hid in the first announcement a couple of days ago.
The original announcement could be reasonable well equated to "If someone wanted to throw away $100,000 they could make a block that would crash any bitcoind they were connected to" - so there was no real urgency to do it.
The revised announcement today, including the information they withheld but already knew about, was that we could be forked off the main BTC chain and lose our blocks if someone devised a transaction that could double spend using the bug in core and we put it in one of our blocks ... so that was urgent to deal with.
All OK now!

Meanwhile, yet again, another completely unnecessary EMPTY block from that piece of crap slush pool:
Block 541915 found by slush was an EMPTY block 274 total bytes.
i'm not an expert on this matter, but i don't understand why bitcoin network accepts empty blocks if there are unconfirmed transactions in the mempool?  ps. not only Slush, but other top-5 pools also produce empty blocks (btc.top) |
