... and yet oddly enough, the stats on minergain are showing the yearly BTC/Day/TH are still higher than Slush ...
So anyone mining slush instead of here lost out ... though I still wonder how that is possible, but the numbers are the numbers Smiley

for my hash rate (had I been mining for the past 12 months with kano), minergain shows kano at a slight lower amount than slush and viabtc shows the highest.

past 12 months - shows kano behind slush by $291.13 and behind viabtc by 774.33

on the other hand, 2019 is off to a great start as it shows kano ahead of slush by 21.26 but behind viabtc by 16.79

If I go back 24 months, kano is 229.29 behind slush but is 2568.75 ahead of viabtc

I wish minergain had additional pools for reference.

My guess is it just depends on the date range that is being viewed and it really goes to show that luck pretty much irons out the variances and pool hopping does no real benefit unless you just get lucky as hell and can be in all the right pools at the right time but even then it still comes close to even.

I currently run 20 asic miners between slush, viabtc, antpool, pool.btc and kano.is  I did decide to give sigma a try but that only lasted a week, after seeing their shady shady shit I was making less even with their 5% bonus and "zero fees" than I was on any other pool. I also then have a few miners spread out on solo pools - hoping for that lucky shot at a block Smiley

I also run a few cpu/gpu rigs for alt coins - at least 20 or so.

I also sometimes take miners offline due to the electric cost and due to issues with my stupid power company that wants to keep taking me offline due to my huge consumption (I always pay the bill - they just want me to go with a commercial rate which is higher than my residential rate) when I do it is usually from kano.is - not because I like kano.is the least but because of the ramp down/ramp up I can still get paid when they are offline. If I go offline on any other pools - except viabtc which is also using pplns - I make nothing. Though viabtc ramp down seems like it is only a day or so.

Of all the pools I do use, I find that I like kano the best - not because I make the most money here - because sometimes I do not - but because of the community. No other pool I have participated in has any community that comes even close to what is here.

so after all my rabble and rambling - mine on kano!

Heh - that's 13 months Smiley
I guess whoever told me did do 12 months and thus didn't include last Feb - so on your table that puts us ahead also.

Actually I play the long game and I've been here long enough to have gone through the really good months and years.  I like to cheer the good luck stretches right along with everyone else but I don't get too wrapped up in the short term highs and lows because I know thet there will be more good times to come.  I've just made sure that I keep enough in reserve to cover any bad luck months that may occur naturally along the way.  I'm pretty close to being at 101% lifetime here on KanoPool.

LOL - That report was one of the later things I added....  I guess I went less than or equal to on the programming loop instead less than (simplified of course).

I am pretty sure that the monthly is actually the start of each month to the end of the month - so that is different than the CDT (Coins per Day per Th) on the home page of minergain.com - which is calculated every 5 minutes.  So at this moment (see the post date), the home page year CDT is based on 2-26-2018 at 4:05pm CDT to 2-26-2019 at 4:05 pm.

I forgot to reply about the other pools.  I could add others but it actually a fair pain to code up since every one is different - plus I try to bring in the old history, give the ability for miners to add their own mining into the system (usually through the api for the site), etc.  Everything about the site is a labor of crypto love since it is free and likely always will be.  So I have to keep my time there minimized since food still has to go on the table.

That said, please pm me if you have suggestions (and an account so I can hook into the api).

Also as an fyi, I am "slowly" working on FIFO tax reporting since I have the need for that myself.  There is a fair ways to go but you can create an account, click on monitor then activity.  From there you can bring in your details from some of the exchanges and put in addresses where you received mining income and paid for mining expenses.  That is not bringing in the blockchain details yet, but will in the coming weeks (it needs to be done before 4/15...)  Currently it is in US Dollars, but I have daily exchange rates for about 2 dozen currencies since 2017 so could do other currencies if someone has the need.

Anyway, thanks for the input and have a great week everyone!  And Mine On with Kano!

Hmm, actually not sure why no one noticed this on the graph posted above a number of days ago from minergain,
but the 12 months going from Feb this year back to March last year has us higher than both slush and viabtc ...

The reason the 13 months including Feb last year was lower (but not much lower) was coz Feb last year was the lowest luck % month on the pool over all time.
So including that as the start point will push the total down.

... and FYI Mar last year isn't the highest, the 2 highest are Nov 2014 and Apr 2017

I did notice that Smiley but the graph was posted primarily to show that it pretty much ends up even there are months where one is higher than the other then it flips and now the one that was lower is higher and vice versa. what I like about kano.is is the community of users and hope for hitting a ton of blocks in a single day/week/month Smiley

lol did you see my screenshot above from today though? 227 blocks found on 2/27  and the block from 3/1 - none of which is actually on Kano.is pool - I mean I would love to see us have 227 blocks in a single day lol

I upgraded to mariadb 10.3 last week and discovered that there are several changes that caused some non  factual results. I worked on solving the issues today and will fix the block issues tomorrow. Yes, I too would love  anywhere near those results!. Mine  on with Kano!

I've repointed the UK node to the NL node.

I was planning to do this at some stage anyway, but the UK node caused a failover at 08:40 UTC, so rather than chase down the provider, I simply switched the DNS for uk.kano.is to point to NL and the small number of users on UK were back online.
This is a permanent change, since the NL node is with my preferred provider who has so far been more reliable than all over providers (including AWS),
and their VPS are a lot faster

Mine on!

Edit: and anyone not sure what this means, you don't have to change anything, if your miners were on uk.kano.is they are now on nl.kano.is automagically Smiley

Are you saying you have problems with both OR and NYA?

I don't use oregonmines but my host site is in Washington state and I get the least latency with OR and then the main statum.  NYA is 3rd for me.  Have you tried using stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333?

Make sure there is no added whitespace at the beginning or end of the address. Very often when using copy/paste a space (whitespace) is added to the end of the string.

I've got machines at Oregon Mines and in Seattle, or.kano.is works well for me. Just slightly faster than the main stratum.kano.is
