Thank you everybody who flew to Toronoto for the core team meeting yesterday.  12 team members flew a total of nearly 100,000km to be there!

The meeting was extremely, extremely productive.  A summary will be posted in the next few days.

We're looking forward to the public session later today, we have heard some rumours about some of the people who have travelled here for it...looking forward to meeting some legends of crypto and business!

It was great seeing you all. The best feeling was really to see that the core team is actually growing since Prague. Everyone with a different talent and different complementary personality. As one of the community members told me: this team would never meet if it was not for Crown. That is the reason this project will be a success!  Wink Because its REAL. Team members are doing it because they want to do it, nobody is paying them!

A formal announcement will follow but we have decided that our next core team meeting and public session will be held in Amsterdam.

If you would like to come and meet the team in person in Amsterdam, please keep 12th November free!

After Amsterdam we are discussing a meeting in South America, TBD.

Yeah looking forward to Amsterdam. We will be officially anouncing a new core team member for Crown, who will be joining us full time, Jerry - latincrown1 - a marketing hedge fund manager who will be community manager down in Miami covering Central and South America. I think this a major thing since the latin community has great potential for CRW. Looking forward working with you Jerry - panita  Wink

With current tron numbers, your first payment won't arrive until about 72 hours after starting the tron.

It's best to run the Tron itself on a hosted server. You then access it from the desktop client.

The Tron needs to run 24/7 and absolutely reliably, since if it drops out from time to time it will need restarting and you'll have to wait a couple of days to start getting rewards again.
It's easy to set up when you know how Smiley Here's a walkthrough guide: http://op.crownlab.eu/projects/crown-atomic/wiki/cassius-tron-setup-guide

Core Team Announcement

Problem With Latest Superblock

In order to pay each superblock a verfication step is required to finalise the budget before it is paid.  This step is required for any project that utilises the Dash governance system and Crown is no different.  The budget finalisation procedure did not occur for the latest superblock due to a system fault on a particular node.

The effect of this is that the superblock *appears* to have been paid however the funds were not sent to the proposal addresses.

In order to rectify this, the Core Team are going to undertake the following actions.

1) All passing proposals will be compensated from the Core Team development fund (the dev fund based on donations from before the governance system was activated). No publicly donated tokens will be used, only tokens donated by the Core Team meaning that the developers will be responsible for rectifying this fault out of their own pockets.

2) Despite the fact that all masternode projects including Dash require this manual step to happen to ensure payout of proposal funds, it is clear that a single point of failure is not acceptable.  Once Crown Atomic is released in a few days time, the Core Team will concentrate on a quick and elegant fix to make sure that the budget finalisation process is conducted on the Tron network in future thus preventing this from happening again.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Crown Team Meeting - Toronto - 18th August 2017

12 members of the core team met in the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto, flying just under 100,000km to be there.  The formal meeting was held between 0900 and 1600 however discussions continued long into the night and for several days.

Crown Atomic

The majority of the Friday session was spent discussing final details and plans for the Crown Atomic release including final confirmation of what would and wouldn't be included in the upcoming release.  The team discussed the API stubs and OP codes at length, with some time being  spent reviewing code by @mdz and @infernoman.

The team discussed and walked through the logic behind the Crown Atomic API and how it would work in reality using soon to be real life examples. Crown Atomic will be available in Testnet on 1st September.

Release Management & Testing

The team discussed and agreed that more formality was required in defining future releases.  It was agreed that a release management and testing procedure is to be created to assist in future releases.

Team Resourcing

Crown is delighted to announce that the core team is being joined by Jerry Ruiz, a hedge fund marketing manager originally from Ecuador but now based in Miami.  Jerry will be promoting Crown from within his circles and also working on use cases for the Latin American market.  https://www.linkedin.com/in/jerry-ruiz-b57aa8a1

It was announced at the meeting that a new core team member will be joining in September in order to help with PR, communications and marketing.  The new team member is finishing up his role at a major online tech magazine and is looking forward to helping move the project forwards.

Current team staffing levels were discussed and it was agreed that it would be beneficial to Crown to recruit some new C++ and QT5 developers. A recruitment drive will be announced soon. Recruitment will be aimed at both the crypto world and traditional IT employment markets.  If anybody has skills that they would like to bring to the Crown team, please contact us for an informal discussion.

Legal Structure

The ambition of the Crown project is to become a major decentralized platform to conduct business on. As such, an important hurdle to be taken is the legal structure to accommodate this.

To our knowledge, no legal framework that supports the legal side of crypto exist yet. So the Crown Team is pioneering in this, and are in the process of constructing a framework to facilitate an operation that can accommodate legal requirements.

The pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together, and look promising. We expect to have a legal framework that supports businesses in the US and EU in the not so distant future.

An announcement related to this will be made shortly.

Whitepapers

The Crown team and their partners are starting to work on four papers which will show concrete use cases of integration of a business through the Crown API and / or the layer which we envision to develop with Omni.

1. Integration of ouibring.com on to Crown, settling a transaction between two parties on the blockchain.

2. An application running on a Tron: NodeVps.com

3. A solution for a sovereign country to use cryptocurrency to manage debt obligations. The case study country will be Ecuador.

4. A startup platform using the blockchain to settle ownership, protect IPR and the overall contractual relationship between an angel investor and a new idea / startup.

Next Meeting

It was agreed that the next Core Team and public sessions will be held in Amsterdam on November 10th and 11th 2017.  It was suggested that the following core team meeting might be held in South America, feedback and suggestions on this choice of location are welcomed.

Crown Recruitment Drive
As part of Crown's recruitment drive, we're reaching out to the best C++ developers we can find.
With ever growing requirements, we need more highly skilled core developers to work with us on a regular basis.
The opening is not limited to one individual, if we see potential there could be many positions to take.

Skills Required
C++ (mandatory)
Blockchain (mandatory)
QT5 (desirable)

Compensation
Crown is a proven long term project with a healthy development fund currently worth $170,000.

Crown also utilises a blockchain based proposal system that makes 40,000 CRW per month available to community voted proposals.
