Ok can someone tell me that what is the real benefit of buying and holding Factoids?
I mean I knew that Factom company is good and all but will FCT holder get benefit of Factom growth?

If you cant tell, I think you re definitely in the wrong place.

You benefit when the price goes up so you can sell and make some money. What kind of question is that? It s not as if Brian and Paul re gonna make and deliver cookies back to you.

So you gonna say that Factoids is just for speculation  and there is no use case beside registering for entry?

Name me one other coin which s got some other user besides BTC. What does ETH do for me? What to XMR do for me? You can buy/sell/cashout, speculate and that s it. What else would you like? For this to cure world famine?

I hear you crazyivan.
Apart from one of the storage coins (Sia/Storj etc), i would consider GAME to have the best chance of crossing over to broad based adoption, other than buy/sell/cashout/speculate, currently.

For companies to use Factom they have to buy entry credits.  Using entry credits burns factoids, reducing the supply, so once entry credit usage picks up the price should go up due to decreasing supply.  Note that after milestone 3 new factoids will start to be added to the supply, but the overall supply will still go down if the usage is high enough (what long term factoid investors are predicting).

Just a little correction - but it's not much of a difference in practise: Not using Entry Credits burns Factoids. It's a conversion from Factoids to Entry Credits once somebody needs/buys EC's - and the converted Factoids are out of the system - burned.

As example: Somebody gives me $10 because he wants EC's, I send Factoids for $10 to his EC-address. The Factoids are already burned and he can use the EC's whenever he wants.

Regarding the supply: I believe that there always will be some inflation, because the market will always try to anticipate the future. Let's say there should be news that a big company will start to use Factom, or even just rumours, the market won't wait but already will drive the price up and maybe even anticipate more.

What I really like in Factom: The market can bet on the future and hype the price up or crash it down - customers don't need to care, since the price for EC's won't change.

All we need M2 with exodus wallet release then da moon, yum yum. Grin Grin,

My guess is that will take us to around 0.005, real moon is much later when entry credit usage goes through the roof and factoid supply gets sucked up.

Agree,in short term your target likely to be  happened, not selling a single piece but mid long term 2-3 yrs  l ll consider  selling a portion. Factom is a solid long term investment imo.
2020 is will be the year for crypto in general to get a healthy mass adaption.
good luck.

If Bitcoin ever passes the 1k barrier for good and crypto projects start to actually get adopted by companies and used by real, average people I think we'll all be very wealthy no matter the project (well obscure and shitcoins will fail most likely...). Bitcoin at $2000, Factom at $50, Ethereum at $100, etc. And those are very conservative numbers at the start of the real bubble.

If crypto truly is the next new/hot thing and not just hype and vaporware, owning 2-3 BTC in both BTC and strong altcoins will most likely makes us rich and that's no hype, it's a fact(om).

It seems our dear speculators re going to perform another round of pump and dump. I missed this train, really hoped the price would break up to at least 35. Maybe Trump needs to invest into Factom next cause it seems Gates alone s not enough to convince the market.

I've been looking for the grant in the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation list of grants awarded in 2016, because I'd like to find out the size of the grant - but it doesn't seem to be listed yet.

Thanks man. Very informative. I've been hearing about factom for several weeks and still thinking to invest some.

Where's Grossbit and his minions?
May be he has some quest to do for Shao Khan

Possibly greatest comment in a 300 page thread.
I do like the guy, it's just really funny though. He's always the badman around these parts.

Thanks, much obliged. Just couldn't find the information myself. Can't believe the price didn't rally much higher on this news. I'm now settled to a long term hold position. Hope exodus releases their wallet soon so I can hold my coins away from polo.

I dont see that. To tell u the truth, I do not even know what need to happen for FCT to pumps up again big time. Cause all great news seem to have no effect at all.

Its certainly strange that FCT didnt pump when good news was ann but I think its the case for most of the altcoins.
Maybe its all related to the bitcoins rise? Now that the price is settling and if M2 and exodus wallet will be implemented then I think we can see a good pump.

No one wants to let go of their precious BTC, many think it will pass 1k or whatever. It's just a pump and dump like any other altcoin experiences, Bitcoin is not immune. No real adoption or world usage, improved tech, good news, etc. Just some countries experiencing economic troubles and speculators going at it. It will go back to low 600s before the end of the year and settle around $650 (it would be another year of profit and growth though!)

Still I feel FCT should ve seen better result, especially since M2 s imminent and this grant has materialized. This has had no effect on price. This is why I ask, HOW COME? It doubled couple months ago based on nothing. Before that, it went up to 85 following ETH, again based on nothing. So when there s a real, tangible reason to go up, it does not. Where there isnt, the price skyrockets. Damn, if I understand crypto.
