What do we need Nvidia for if we have AMD producing graphics cards? What do we need Mercedes for if we have BMW manufacturing cars?
Valid questions indeed.

look at this news https://www.bourse.lu/blockchain-press-release"Ethereum is a decentralised platform that runs smart contracts: applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud or third party interference. By introducing Etheruem’s blockchain technology into the certification process, LuxSE is providing a "digital signature" that will ensure authenticity and proof of existence of all documents filed in the OAM." if we have this on Ethereum directly, what do we need Factom for, if I may ask A good question and I actually appreciate your insights. These guys are giving you a hard time LOL. But storing data on Ethereum is much more expensive than storing data on Factom. The reason is that in Ethereum every node processes every call and store every piece of data. Factom has a quite efficient federated mechanism that makes storage cheaper without any validation possibility. Factom also creates software that harmonizes the auditing/review process within industries (well, one service they provide). This makes it much easier for regulatory agencies to do their jobs. And companies/cliënts don't have to buy any cryptocurrency - so not carrying any currency risk - by using Factom. And so on...

He is kind of right though. Nothing he says is wrong or is being disputed by anyone.
Everything he's said has been refuted ad nauseam in this thread, for months, by myself and others. But unfortunately, "The amount of energy necessary to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." But the noobs will be confused, of course ... That's the point of FUD. I am super bullish long term with Factom, maybe 1-2 years but short term I do believe we are going 150k or under.
Sorry to see you've taken up this line. I had appreciated some of your comments in the past. Also surprised to hear you claim you're "super bullish" about Factom when just yesterday you were unleashing a stream of FUD in the Trollbox, including "can you guys seriously not say fct is pitiful.?" http://www.polonibox.com/?username=Pap0uThere's a lot of money to be made in crypto. No need to debase yourself.

Can somebody be a champ and toss out a big fat buy and get this breakout started? I would but I'm already pretty heavy on my long.

You'll find out which platform is superior very quickly and hysterical people would say you are ddos'ing the network. Ethereum is certainly capable of proof of existence, but that's not what it's made for and far more expensive to do, additionally you need to hold the entire ethereum blockchain just to simply access your data. Does that sound appealing to your business? Doing something once is easy, scaling it to enterprise level is an entirely different game. Plenty of promises by everyone in crypto, very few achieve implementation. PoS is still unproven yet everyone thinks its inevitable. Eth roadmap said PoS would have been done months ago and I don't think they are even close yet. Factom will get there, I don't mind how long it takes or where speculators shift their cash on the greatest new thing. In it for the long term.

very interesting analysis. it shows there is no easy free lunch in alts. I'd like to see a similar analysis for small cap stocks or startups. Probably the same kind of charts. BTC has the first mover advantage and the survivor bias.

Get a life dude. You make me sick with your trolling. because Ethereum is total crap that can't work properly after 2 hard forks and will probably fail and be exploited after 20 more? http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/09/12/factom-will-use-bitcoin-ethereum-blockchain/Ethereum is so much crap that "Factom Embraces Ethereum Blockchain" This is not the right answer. @Mimir is giving a more correct answer. However, the fact that we have a big company with needs that could/should be covered by Factom is NOT referring to it, gives you an idea of how poorly they are doing at the moment

if factom devs do not fix the problem by tonight I'll open a thread in the scam accusation. but hope they fix it! You threaten legit projects who are trying their best to deliver to open Scam Accusations threads if they don't fix your issues. To be honest never seen this before, maybe a couple of times but do you think this is the right way of dealing with issues? We owe an apology for being so impulsive, to understand people get stressed when dealing with coins, money and related delays but you don't give yourself any favour by acting like this. Then as soon as you find a way around it you are all smiles...
I'm not blaming you for anything just want to point out your attitude to other community members, please change that it will go a long way for everyone else.

Factom does care about FCT investors. Evidenced by the CEO Paul Snow and another member coming out and posting on these forums in response to all of this on a Saturday. IMO I wouldn't doubt as they discuss this, they will be putting out more by- monthly general updates to keep everyone abreast and combat this type of minuplation. Of course they care. But usually they don't speak much about the market and they don't make marketing for the market - but they deliver. I've always seen exactly that as indication of professionalism, because I don't trust teams who show clear intentions to hype the price. But it's good that they cleared things up today for those who maybe really were concerned because of the intensity.

People, things re gonna change quite soon.
Let me quote what Paul posted on reddit a few days ago:
"A couple of months ago I said we were weeks away from a testnet. Our schedule is dictated by testing, and we are testing the heck out of M2, so we are at the edge of that statement. We are quiet, but as Github shows we are hard at work. I am not ready to delay out to 2017. I've been terrible at estimating our schedule, so I'll not say more than that."
So, he says, WE RE AT THE EDGE OF THAT STATEMENT. Does the edge mean 6 months? No. Does it mean 3 months? No. It means soon. So, be a bit more patient and let s launch this ship.
