Maybe Dollars are having a hard time reaching the exchanges.

Aren't there 4200 people in line waiting to be cleared to use MtGox? As the Japanese business day is already over, I doubt much fiat will reach the exchange.

The queues have been absurd for dollars for a while. I think they are just waiting on Coinlab to open and are being lazy fucks.

Euro prices higher than dollar? Maybe buying pressure from Europe is increasing!

For the last few days there has been a kind of daily rhythm as the European traders wake up to cleared deposits on gox and push the price higher than the USD market, but then as the Americans wake up later on, the USD price is pushed up and the gap closes back down. From what I have seen, the 'premium' that EUR traders are willing to pay over gox USD hasn't noticeably increased as an average over the whole day.

That wouldn't surprise me one bit. My theory is that MtGox just has a very hard time finding qualified employees up there in Tokyo and are critically understaffed. For all their failures I have to give them big credit for keeping their cold storage safe though.

Third: That the general population should care how and whether a bank saves itself.  Instead the stakeholders of the bank should be the ones voting on a deposit reduction, chapter 11 or other options.

Problem is the top two banks' stocks are only worth 500M so where to find the 10000M they need? Let the banks go bankrupt and everybody will loose more than 10%.

Yes, of course, if by "everybody" you meant depositors.  So this is the stakeholder's (depositors, stock/bondholder's) decision, not the nation's.

If by "everybody" you mean losses due to the general economic malaise... sometimes you must feel sick before you get better.  I think economic "losses" are often massively overstated by those who have a great interest in keeping the status quo going.  The region either never had it in the first place (market capitalizations that can't handle selling volume for example), or wealth was simply transferred from those who sold at the top to those who bought at the bottom.

It's not the weekend, its the end of the month. There's always profit taking at the end of a month, people pay bills, Expect a dip.

Imagine,if all the accounts were approved suddenly. The potential increase of the BTC price would be huge.

The thing that I am really looking at is that investors with huge amounts cash are actually still looking at Bitcoin from a distance, but believe it is still relegated to those with 1000-10,000 purchases mainly.I think this rally is faaaaar from over and if the price increases substantially[1000+ per btc],investors might actually start taking a look as well and the rally could continue.

+1

The more stable the price over the weekend the larger the boom will be Monday.

May I make a bold prediction? $100 before the end of the month, $1000 before July, $10000 before the end of the year.

I could be wrong though Cheesy

That is mighty bold.

But again, I guessed that the year high would be 20ish back in January, so what do I know?

its not just btc24, bitcoincentral is even higher, Americans need to catch up (but maybe their funds don't get through).

The BTC price widget on my phone isn't working either, I think there is something wrong with the MtGox API.

Maybe it's stuck due to the transition to Coinlab

In that case - it would be highly unprofessional. The right way to go about it would be to have the old stuff working, until the new stuff starts working, better yet - have both of them run in parallell for a while, and slowly transitioning out the old stuff. I would more think there's an unexpected error on Gox's end.
