Is it a coincidence that Badbitcoin (Vik) and Bitcoinist distance themselves from GAW/Garza on the same day? Thoughts on the identity of Vik perhaps being Vivien on the Bitcoinist staff?

This seems likely, but to be honest I don't think it really matters who exactly ViK is, the point is that he/she/it/they have been forced to backpedal now. He/she/it/they were one of the final remaining perpetuators of the legitimacy myth of GAW and Garza, and hopefully with them out of the picture less people will potentially be tempted to invest in any scams Garza attempts. Obviously from a personal standpoint I'd love to see the slimy, pompous git publicly apologise for continuing to allow Garza to legitimise his assortment of crap through badbitcoin.org for so long, but I doubt that'll ever happen...

I'm just going to add to this, since I've had a few idle moments to do a bit of digging, that I think perhaps it's unlikely that ViK is Vivien from Bitcoinist. The badbitcoin twitter feed appears to be written by the same person, and whoever it is makes references to matters in the UK. Vivien is Hungarian, I believe.

Honestly, I'm inclined to think that anyone who voluntarily gets involved with Garza at this stage with all the evidence that's openly and easily available to research needs their head examined. Astonishingly stupid.

Wondering if they perhaps had already signed the contract a while ago and didn't want to be the ones who broke it.

@miaviator any comments?

Nothing I know of.  Which clearly isn't saying much.

Based on the information presented I would say they recently signed the deal and garza took a down payment/first months rent up front.   Then he homered the deal.

MrCoins is gone long ago, Badbitcoin is busy cleaning up, and BITCOIN-BAR seems to reside on hashclub.org these days. I don't know of any other hypershills capable of defending this clusterfuck anymore. Next up - Homero pockets the $15 he collected in ad revenue from Hashtalk and sells the domain to a foreign-based Viagra dealer.

Just to reiterate: Some time ago Coinfire said that authorities told them that ViK was female and was in the employ of Garza as a marketing manager at GAW Miners. Coinfire can let us know (if they can) whether that is still the going truth.

Kind of amazing that hashtalkers held on for so long, it has been an epic story with all kinds of twists and turns but seems as though it is drawing to a close.

Matlack, Matlock and Valawalladoodle should make their own PayCoin thread on Bitcointalk. They have interests to see the Coin grow and haven't been too bad, just talk with people and let people make fun of you. The "trolls" aren't too bad, you just need a little thick skin and a sense of humor, it would benefit them to be as accessible to people as possible.

Yes, and it seems that Bitcoinist was/is part of the scam, so that is why I wondered if Vivien Gal of the Bitcoinist staff was this female employed by GAW.

Back in 2014 ViK claimed all alt coins were a scam. I guess PayCoin wasn’t an alt coin?

I haven't been paying 100% attention to badbitcoin, but I do remember it being ok a few years ago. Is it out of the question that gaw bought the twitter/site like he did to other places/tried to do so many times before?

I don't know if it was any good before, but if you read some of the older tweets you'll find similar radical political statements throughout it, which I think shows it's still the same person running it. More likely the owner fell victim of his/her own judgement and invested too much into GAW. Combined with certain character traits (inability to admit being wrong among them) this has led to the immense shilling even in the face of the recent implosion of everything that Garza has ever touched. I wonder how much he/she has put into scrypt.cc.
