i asked about it on twitter and was told "the domain was acquired from GAWMiners in a private, long term lease agreement until 2018.03.11. the licensee is Bitcoinist LTD."

2018 is way out of Garza's time horizon. He's the guy who scrapped the original Paycoin idea for a crappy clone because he wanted it out in two weeks.

The lease involved some sort of deposit. Garza will immediately cease paying for the domain and attempt to string along the seller for as long as possible. During this time, Garza still collects rent. At some point, the domain reverts back to its previous owner, and bitcoinist is out that month's rent and the original deposit.
