It is shocking that grown men and women tolerate that there. Still trying to come to grips where in the world did they manage to accumulate such a collection of weak naive incredibly simple people? As I said before sheltered AOL'ers but that is gone. It is almost like they collected up a network of feeble minded church goers  to populate that forum. Always so positive always "way to go josh!!!" "you the best josh!!!" anything and everything he says, the along comes a camp councilor to reprimand one of them when they aren't standing up and clapping along with everyone else.

Where could he have got these people? Some sort of church sponsored rehab, or camp, or delinquency program?  That weird video of him is also some church based nonsense dinner and meet across the country all sorts of chapters related to it. Got to believe he is roped in this collection from anywhere except the real world.

Are you serious? Go outside and look around! (TBH I find it very hard to believe myself)

Lets see some examples in recent history (wont get 2 deep)

908 people drank the punch and never came back = Jim Jones

Heaven's Gate
Quote
Applewhite convinced 38 followers to commit suicide so that their souls could board the supposed craft. Applewhite believed that after their deaths, an unidentified flying object (UFO) would take their souls to another "level of existence above human", which he described as being both physical and spiritual. This and other UFO-related beliefs held by the group have led some observers to characterize the group as a type of UFO religion. In October 1996, the group purchased alien abduction insurance to cover up to 50 members at a cost of $10,000.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has accused ZeekRewards.com, and it's parent company Rex Venture Company, of luring 2 million investors worldwide in a $600 million dollar internet Ponzi scheme. The receiver for the government says it will take a long time before ALL the victims are located and hopefully, refunded some of their money for their losses. They are currently in the process of "clawbacks" meaning they are asking investors who received money from the company to give back that money so that it can be divided up between all victims fairly.

However, in a weird twist of denial, many of the victims want to continue with "business as usual." They believe in the business opportunity of ZeekRewards.com that they are actually fighting the SEC's actions. As of now the company CEO Paul Burks hasn't been officially charged with a crime

enjoyed meeting with Perianne

Which has now morphed into dinner  Roll Eyes

Knowing how delusional this character is, it more than likely means they happned to be in the same restuarant at the same time, at adjacent tables, and happened to finish their meals and pay up at the same time thus exiting the resturant at the same time which a nod and hello exchanged as they held the door open for her.

@GAW_CEO you said "super tired........enjoyed meeting with Perianne though", isn't there where she is?

If you are asking me, all I know about them is through their hosting service Hydro66 in Sweden. When they first came out with offering hosting I had contact with them and was not impressed at the time, over - priced, unorganized etc. More importantly having had run ins with cloudhashing and figuring out their hosting scheme, I would not dare to put my equipment with a hoster that is also offering cloud mining contracts. You can just imagine how much they siphon off your machines if they don't come right out and say it and offer you a few points to hook in to their system.

Haha just skimmed through the BS again. So the CEO is a very generous guy, he just gives out 1 paycoin to every prime hashlet owner. That is apparently 500k PayCoin and as we all know, they will be worth at least 20$/pc

So, out of the blue, he decided to throw out 10 million $ of the original investors money. Sounds legit, gotta get myself some primes

/sarc

And as you know, everybody is cheering this, and if not, they are banned.

I can't describe the feeling I get when reading the BS, they JUST CAN NOT truly believe this can they? They have to be cheering just to not make everything fall apart before they exit? Right?

On a side note, GAW seems to be very desperate to get the customers, or victims, to exchange their hashlets to cashtakers. I would even go so far, as to claim that there is some legality detail behind this. If everyone changes their "miner" to a cashtaker, then they will have an audit, everything is fine even if they don´t have the hardware as they aren't selling any mining, just cashtaking.

by attempting to influence what potential investors do with their money that he has received, i'd say yes. he has already received the money so like any asset which gets regulated by law, it surely is the case that he must not conduct such an aggressive stance. He should be more inclined to follow normal regulations and persistently advise people that their investments may be at risk.

whether that in itself is a legal matter or not, remains to be seen but i'd say that it would certainly be a discussion which could take place in a court.

I'm only cheering about it right now because it's helping boost the prices on the Hash Market. Now's the time for people to pull out! I have a feeling that after people initiate the transfer from Hashlet's to Stakers tonight that they won't be able to sell them.

I think they're doing POS for two reasons.

1. It prevents a mass dumping of the coins for 3-6 months. The coins that are put into these wallets can't be dumped. It'll help prolong the artificial $20 floor that GAW is planing.

2. They can "sell off" mining hardware. So when / if there's an audit they can show a small amount of hardware and claim that this is all they need for the remaining Hashlet's.

This exactly.

Although there has been discussion on HT today if the 20$ wall was actually promised or not.

It seems like Josh was quite careful to not "guarantee" a $20 price. However, there are a lot of statements like this:

Quote
@GAW_CEO said:
> @Tradenow said:
> > and if paycoin decreases in value over time? Maybe 10$ instead of 20$ it would be a bad idea to stake?
>
> That will not happen. Our floor, to keep it from going bellow $20, is too large at this point

https://hashtalk.org/topic/20296/hashstaker-q-a/267

Also, heads up for everyone:

Quote
Once you upgrade, you can not sell your Hashlet until the upgrade is complete

If you activate the "upgrade" to a Staker tonight; you can't sell your Hashlet on the market. Expect at least 2+ weeks until you can cash out.

HashCoin ICO Customer Round
Hello everyone:
While we still have a formal release coming, I wanted to share some exciting news now.
I will save the juicy stuff for later, but the summary is this:
HashCoin will go public for just over $20 a coin. Our customer ICO HashPoint round will be at less than $4 a coin.
Legal note: Remember, this is NOT the FIAT round. This round, at these prices, will be limited to purchases with HashPoints reward points only. Our banking partners will NOT allow more coins to be purchased than with the available pool of HashPoints.
Also, “HashCoin” is the code name. We purchased the rights to the most popular name an online currency could ever have.
Deal finished today Smiley
More to come! :grinning:
Follow me on Twitter - @gawceo

I'm surprised all crypto sites associated with his banner ads don't distance themselves from him. Those hashstaker banner ads are on every crypto site i go to. Its like pollution. Surely when trying to promote crypto for the greater good you'd be up with news and stuff thats bs right? Doesn't do much for the industry when your site is promoting this shit.

Is this a scam?

I would say that it has more red flags than a PLA parade, but has not been conclusively proven (as in "evidence you can take to court") to be a scam. You can start with the OP, it's a bit out of date though. One major thing that's not mentioned there is that GAW are now selling a temporary wallet to hold PayCoin for 3-6 months and promise to pay ~400% APY on coins held in that wallet. They are discontinuing the product launched 4 months ago (Hashlet).

No he's giving a paycoin to every prime hashlet that is upgraded to a prime staker i believe. Its incentive to move off the mining liability. Its then no cost to him because paycoins are made from thin air... he's literally inventing money.
