When you file taxes, in order to deduct the expenses of your business, do you provide the names and addresses of people receiving the money along with the amounts paid to them?
If not, wouldn't you be required to furnish that information in an audit to prevent being taxed on the full value of the BTC you sell? (i.e. it's necessary to have proof of expenses to avoid paying taxes on that portion of your revenue)
I know your site is pretty clear that people gaining revenue from you must declare their real identities, but I missed the disclaimer on your privacy policy, is that only used for official IRS audits of your business, or is it filed to gov't with your taxes?

Happy MLKJ Day Everyone, there's a guy who took on a tyrannical gov't and stood for his principles despite the odds/threats against him

Nothing in that post made any sense.  There isn't even a mechanism to provide the names and address of all customers to the IRS when filing taxes even if we wanted to (which we don't).  Do you think Amazon.com provides the IRS with order details for tens of millions of orders each year?  How exactly does 7-11 provider the names and addresses of all customers (including those paying cash)?

Tangible Cryptography LLC is a classified as a partnership for tax purposes.  A form 1065 (and K-1 for each partner with an ownership interest) was filed for 2012.  Please let me know where you see the line item indicating "please include name and addresses for all customers".
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1065.pdf

I would point out that not all customers provide an address.  Only customers making a sale for payment by mail (check, cashier's check, or bullion) need to provide a mailing address.  Customer information is used ensure we can make an accurate payments and to avoid third party payments nothing more.  Next time please troll a little better.

PS

We should have more Gold Bullion within a week.

We will not be offering Amazon payments at this time.  Keeping our current options funded remains a challenge.  Our customers are probably better served by keeping out existing options reliable and ready to provide "fast cash".

When a sales order expires and the transfer doesn't go through for some reason, does it automatically go back to the address where it came from? I did enter a refund address, does it go to that one?

Right now I have an expired sales order that I guess didn't go through. Where does that coin go to? And how long does it take to get to where it's going? Very first time using this service.

Thanks.

Expired orders are processed manually.  We use 100% cold wallet and auto-refunds would require the use of a hot wallet.  If the price hasn't changed significantly and we still have available funds we will process the order.  In the event we no longer have sufficient funds or the price has moved against us we will refund to the refund address.

PM me your order number because I don't show any funded but expired orders at this time.

PM sent. Thanks for looking into it. All pretty new to me. Not sure why it didn't work to begin with.

The transaction wasn't seen on the network until 21 minutes after the order was created.  Assumming you sent funds shortly after creating the sales order the two most likely scenarios are:

a) On a desktop client you weren't synced to the blockchain.  If the client's blockchain is old it will wait until it is caught up with the network to actually send the transaction.

b) Using a web wallet or other third party service (exchange account, marketplace, etc) the transaction wasn't actually sent when the web wallet indicate it was.

In either case if you send coins and the status doesn't change to FUNDED within a minute a good way to verify is to look up the deposit address using blockexplorer.com or blockchain.info.  If neither of these sites see a transaction made to the deposit address then it hasn't been seen by the network yet (likely because it actually hasn't been sent).

I don't think it was the case here but I would caution against using forks which violate the minimum mandatory fee rules.  If our peers (nodes we are connected to) are running the reference client they will drop those transactions and we will never see them until they are included in a block.

I'm trying again with a small amount and have a question. My order went from funded to confirmed. Approximately how long does it take to hit my Dwolla account? Hours? Days?

Thanks

All dwolla orders have been paid.  To answer your questions they are paid in batches usually it is within 4-6 hours (and often much quicker than that) unless there is nobody from the staff online/awake.  Unlike the blockchain we do occasionally eat and sleep.

Ok thanks. I think a couple of hours later it did get sent over to Dwolla.
