What's the purpose of holding a business accountable separately from it's owner?  I've said pretty clear that Dank Bank is for investors to invest into me as person.  Personal life items (food, gas, laundry, rent) are expenses in my life that I need to even run Dank Bank.  And I wouldn't have any of those if it wasn't for Dank Bank, which I thank my investors for, for supporting me as a person when others haven't.

Basically, Dank-Bank is there for him to use as a piggy bank and support himself.

Figured you guys would like the crosspost.

Yes.  My parents would pay for my college education, but I don't want to go to college.  Because I'm fulfilling my own destiny rather than theirs, I have no one there to support me, with an exception of those that do indeed support me, to whom I'm very thankful.

So you admit that your investors aren't investing in futures or commodities, but rather in your personal desires?

So this is less Dank Bank and more Dank Welfare?

To be fair to dank, he's pretty much said this all along, not just in respect of Dank Bank but also in respect of his previous loan/investment pitches. It's always been clear that he effectively uses the loans he gets from people as personal pay-day loans to fund whatever he wants and he's never suggested that the money loaned to him will be used purely, or even primarily, on things which directly produce income for his lenders/investors.

He's 18, unemployed and no longer living at home.  He's obviously not doing enough graphic design work to pay the bills and he's not a trust fund baby.  What more do people really need to know?

I originally thought that the "commodity" he was investing in might be weed (this would be consistent with a lot of his early posts), but as he says that he no longer buys weed, my best guess at the moment is that he's set up a small scale grow op.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Reasonable guess, but I don't break the law, aside from smoking weed and speeding occasionally.

I don't use investments funds for my personal desires, I use them to accomplish goals in my life, to build as a person.  Nothing like welfare.
So you are using other people's money as a payday loan, and don't consider it basically welfare?

People on welfare use it to accomplish goals in their life too. Like feeding their kids, not starving to death, having heat during the winter. You know, a goal in life that involves living.

So what exactly are you purchasing (aside from the guitar you play with your face) that builds you as a person?

Meth?

As I just said, I pay back everything I borrow.  Is paying for welfare through taxes the same as paying a loan to you?

It's sound though, because it works off karma.
That's all I needed to hear about the Dank Bank to decide whether to invest or not.
Dooglus, I suppose you don't believe in it then?

There is no such thing as karma, but when you are reincarnating it makes sense to try and leave yourself a better world to come back to.  This is part of why I support communism/socialism.  Trying to help everyone improve their living conditions increases the odds of a comfortable next life.

Communism/socialism does nothing to create a better world, in practice.  Freedom does, though.

Dooglus, try looking for events in your life, putting out positive energy by doing favors or whatever, and see if nothing changes at all.  Notice if you put out negative energy if anything bad happens to you.

In practice, it leads to things like health coverage for all in places like Canada and Europe.  It would be nice for me if I was born with a medical condition not to be bankrupting my parents.

Regardless, Communism and Socialism increase freedom when properly implemented.

I don't think anyone here would argue that your attitude towards life doesn't affect how you experience it.  People who dwell on the negative are generally unhappy even if they do achieve objective "success".  But focusing on the positive alone does not achieve results in and of itself - it's not a substitute for action.  Even though focusing on the positive can make the work required to achieve a goal more pleasant, it's not a substitute for that work.  Try opening your front door with positive thoughts alone right now.

Bad stuff happens to good people and good stuff happens to bad people.  "Karma" can be used to explain either but no metaphysical explanation of "why" is actually necessary.  Plenty of people who believe in some sort of cosmic justice system do horrific things and plenty of people who lack any such beliefs do good things.  Mature adults don't need promises of reward or threats of punishment (whether it's a possible prison sentence, "bad karma" or going to Hell) in order to have a moral compass, but the "just world" fallacy (of which the concept of karma is a variant) sure makes dismissing the suffering of others a whole lot easier.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

I never said you should substitute it with action, it takes both.

Nothing is good or bad, a good thing happening to someone can be bad to someone else and a good person to someone can be a bad person to someone else.
