I think it is.
Bitcoin use adoption has stalled. Media interest has dissipated. Prices have only slowly continued to decline for a long time now. Bitcoin securities have always been and still are a complete mess, with a near 100% failure (scam/fraud/incompetence/etc) rate. Mining has been concentrated in the hands of a few giant players, eliminating much of the advantage/security/democracy of thousands of individuals being the money processors. Alternative forms of online payment with US dollars (and other fiat currencies) are now cheaper, faster, and more secure than bitcoin (and of course far more usable to buy/sell real goods/services), eliminating any of its advantages as a payment system. Continued decline of bitcoin and strength in fiat currencies has put the lie to the idea of bitcoin as a store of value; there are far better more reliable hedges against inflation. Meanwhile the real economy is firing on all cylinders, stock markets are at all time highs, corporate earnings are higher than ever, unemployment is low, etc. Even amid the boom, no one cares about bitcoin any more. Bitcoin was a fad that lasted a few years, and is now on its way to being forgotten.
Thoughts? Anyone seriously disagree with this conclusion?
I don't really think so. The market is down indeed, but it doesn't diminish that bitcoin has died. Furthermore, it just seems to be that bitcoin is dying because the market that it is circulating is having a hard time. But, in this kind of situation, the best thing to do is to just be patient and hope for the best. |

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

No, I think the bitcoin will exist for along years. The fluctuations is normal. so, dont panic.I blieve it. |

I think one day bitcoin will stop its growth but still will be one of the leading cryptocurrencies or transform into another one (we know it was the first so the technology should be improved)

maybe end of 2015 bitcoin dead  Really? nowadays 2018 but bitcoin lives/ We use bitcoin and beliave that soon creptomarket will be involved and adopted in much more countries/ It is our future/ It is a new technology that makes our life easier/  |

Bitcoin is leader in market wand will survive forever,Ups and down part of market and Bitcoin faced many time in its journey it doesn't mean Bitcoin is dead.Bitcoin is growing and going popular.

it is not dead. we saw today that there are still big investors that believe in bitcoin and collect high amounts. Bitcoin price is still very low, if we think about future of the crypto market we will see many more huge raises in the future.
Bitcoin is not dead, bitcoin can survive or can exist in this world for long time and even the value of bitcoin became low for long time, i am sure that bitcoin will still not die, for me bitcoin can exist in this world for more than 30 years, and right now the price of bitcoin is starting to recover. |

A relapse period isnt implicit of death. I did think you would observe the trend of the markets, taking a look at the price of Bitcoin in year 2016 and 2017. There was a down time and then was a bullish run which had an incredible mark for year 2017 especially. We do hope to experience a bewilderment in this year 2018.

Wow, this thread is old a long time ago and see what Bitcoin is still alive and the price higher than when this post was created. So this is going to continue to happen. Many people will keep on doubting and then the believers of crypto will also keep on earning

Many people say that when bitcoin prices go down and it looks hard to go up then everyone says that bitcoin is dead, but I have to say that this incident is normal and bitcoin soon gets better and skyrocket again.
Agree. It is often normal for Bitcoin to react that way in its price movements. Since it was never designed as a stable currency, but rather as a store of value full of volatility, it's meant to go up and down over the course of time. As such, there is no reason to declare Bitcoin dead when it has managed to retain its position in the market for quite some time. Bitcoin as we know it, continues to grow in technological development every step of the way. Considering the amount of interest there has been into Bitcoin lately, it may never become dead in the mainstream world. What's more exciting about Bitcoin is that the Lightning Network is very close to become adopted at a large scale worldwide. This shows that Bitcoin will keep making strides within our world, despite what its value will be. In the end, what matters most is Bitcoin's advancements in technology, and what it could do to improve our lives. If we only focus on its price and declare it dead, then we'll be greatly mistaken. Therefore, I believe that Bitcoin will continue to live for a long period of time. Just my thoughts  |

bitcoin will not die bitcoin will still exist for several more years. you make this thread 2015 now 2018 proved bitcoin still exists and its value goes up very high compared to 2015. I believe bitcoin will last for another 10-30 years. now bitcoin has become the number one coin in cryptocurrency and most in demand by investors and has the highest value.
