It is time to add a clause on the shareholder's agreement:
"You must have a pair of balls / ovaries to invest"
Blah blah blah...

If all it took were reproductive organs and profanity, America's 99 percent would be the 1% which is impossible.  You should start another thread called "Shit-talk 'n balls investment advice" and gang out in there exclusively.  We have questions that require answers as owners of Asicminer.  Notice I said Asicminer and not AM shares.

Come on Friedcat!  Answer the questions.

Don't you think this "rounds of questions" are getting a bit annoying? I mean, it's ok to ask for informations and you should as a shareholder, but every week it's the same story. If you don't feel comfortable with the amount of shares you have, so much that you constantly worry about the price, you should have invested less.

Starting to side there he answered the core questions let him operate for a while before building up another set of questions.
That and some of the questions seem a bit obvious if it doesn't make August and doesn't make September then we have a serious question, but I guess that might be worth a mention at the end of the month.

Is there any interest in putting together money for advertisement space on the forum? I'd be willing to throw down for the forum and on dogie's reviews

This should be covered by operating costs. Simple as that. If FC has a more cost efficient strategy regarding advertising (i.e. He has buyers lined up already, a private referral network, maybe he is focused on large scale Chinese clients?) it would be good to know about.

Personally, I can't really spread info word-of-mouth wise since I have very little info and am not sure where to refer interested parties.

Advertising works and is one of the costs of doing business. This needs work here.

Of course, if divs are fat and % of network hash rate is large, that will call attention.

Well he already has his Asicminer tube campaign going
That's promoting the selling of those units on the forum so there is some advertising going on in the forum already.

Why? It would seem to reason if more emphasis was needed to sell hardware or promote the company it would have already been forthcoming internally which leaves me the impression AM is focused on self mining with the remaining batch of Gen 3 ASICs.

I think he should have considered making the ad campaign initially available to shareholders only.  This would at least give them a little income while waiting for the dividend payments to kick in.

Yes, all of us who have signed up to the sig campaign are advertising costs. I don't feel bad about it. Problem with sig campaign is limited audience (and when posting in AM threads : preaching to the choir)

A properly managed ad campaign that targeted a larger amount of the internet and links that led to better designed sales sights would be money better spent IMO. I will still take the btc offered for my sig. If FC is smart he's using the traffic stats from this campaign to strategize for a real one soon.

I really wonder if his focus is so much on consumer sales though? He doesn't seem very good at it, maybe Chinese language internet market works differently regarding this?

Whoever ran the sig campaign is kind of an idiot....

Started skipping over higher ranked forum members because those spots were "full" instead of letting those people in and having less spots for lower members.  Choosing a full member over a Hero member... when you obviously value hero members more (they are paid more) is idiotic.  I tried to explain how it was stupid several times, but the language barrier prevented that.

Still have it in my sig though because, well I am a share holder... but sucks I should have gotten something for it and was passed up.

Obviously you can't blame those leasing sig space for working the campaign, but friedcat should keep stats between sales drives on how effective the ad "dollars" are in campaigns like this just to make sure its generating the marginal revenue to justify running it.

I think sig campaign is the action of someone who doesn't know what else to do. Online advertising is a field of expertise all to itself. If they wanted to do it most effectively they would hire an ad man/marketing guy, at least consult. The right PR person would probably be able to handle it. Even google adsense (!)

I get the feeling FC is so focused on his area of expertise (chip design) and so proud of his results (rightly so) that he believes the product will mostly sell itself. Engineers, sometimes to narrow of focus...

I'm of two minds regarding advertising though. It could be a huge waste of money if not done correctly. I'm no advertising guru, but concepts like maximum exposure and targeted audiences I can understand.

With that, I'm off to inhabit some other subs to spread the message around a little and hopefully earn my keep!
