You're an operating cost. +1 Ad campaign is unnecessary - what are we doing, buying team members?

I don't feel bad about it. Problem with sig campaign is limited audience (and when posting in AM threads : preaching to the choir) A properly managed ad campaign that targeted a larger amount of the internet and links that led to better designed sales sights would be money better spent IMO. I will still take the btc offered for my sig. If FC is smart he's using the traffic stats from this campaign to strategize for a real one soon. I really wonder if his focus is so much on consumer sales though? He doesn't seem very good at it, maybe Chinese language internet market works differently regarding this?

Whoever ran the sig campaign is kind of an idiot....
Started skipping over higher ranked forum members because those spots were "full" instead of letting those people in and having less spots for lower members. Choosing a full member over a Hero member... when you obviously value hero members more (they are paid more) is idiotic. I tried to explain how it was stupid several times, but the language barrier prevented that.
Still have it in my sig though because, well I am a share holder... but sucks I should have gotten something for it and was passed up.

Obviously you can't blame those leasing sig space for working the campaign, but friedcat should keep stats between sales drives on how effective the ad "dollars" are in campaigns like this just to make sure its generating the marginal revenue to justify running it.

I think sig campaign is the action of someone who doesn't know what else to do. Online advertising is a field of expertise all to itself. If they wanted to do it most effectively they would hire an ad man/marketing guy, at least consult. The right PR person would probably be able to handle it. Even google adsense (!) I get the feeling FC is so focused on his area of expertise (chip design) and so proud of his results (rightly so) that he believes the product will mostly sell itself. Engineers, sometimes to narrow of focus... I'm of two minds regarding advertising though. It could be a huge waste of money if not done correctly. I'm no advertising guru, but concepts like maximum exposure and targeted audiences I can understand. With that, I'm off to inhabit some other subs to spread the message around a little and hopefully earn my keep!

193.187.79.76 has relayed nearly 40 blocks over the past 4 days. Along with the 1BX5YoL and 1AcAj9p addresses, it remains a strong candidate for ASICMINER's solo-mining. It could also a combination of two, all three or a different combination of IPs, though these three carry the highest probability, especially considering that franchised mining ops may use different addresses and IPs.

Why is this? They're the only ones that demonstrate both the "since mid-July" timeframe (the two addresses) and the ~20PH earmark that friedcat had mentioned back in the beginning of the summer months. Again, the total solo+franchised hashrate will probably be the result of a combination of sources coming online along different timeframes. I'm saying that these addresses fulfill the characteristics we've been waiting for/anticipating for months. It could be equivalently true that friedcat+franchisees control a smaller share of the network, but keep in mind that the node at 193.187.79.76has risen almost in exact correlation with this additional hashrate from over this period. Who else is putting that kind of hashing power online right now, and with what hardware? I realize my speculation is inductive, but I'd be interested to see what counter-points the group might be able to offer.

Lots are adding hashing power...Bitfury has a new 20 MW facility, BFL (lol I know, but they do have gear now), Bitmain, SP-Tech is pumping out 4TH rigs, the list goes on. I would assume that AM has a chuck of the recent hash power, but definitely not all or most of it.

Keep in mind that most of the values we're watching (such as on bitcoinwisdom) represent a 504/1008/2016 block average. These last two spikes likely represent one or two large datacenters going online solely due to the short timescale over which they were added to the network. There wasn't this kind of spike when Bitmain and Rockminer released the S3 and RK-Box, respectively, to the consumer mining markets.

Question: "Does ASICMINER anticipate being in a position to resume dividends in the month of September?".
What is even the point of asking this? friedcat specifically stated he hoped to resume dividends in August, so if that doesn't materialise, what do you hope to gain other than wasting a few peoples time by asking the same thing about September? I think this sort of thing is why friedcat doesn't bother communicating with us anymore. Is the interview not at the end of August? The value in having clarity on this would be if the answer is "no", then we would be 2.5 months into self-mining, and I believe an explanation would be warranted for that. I also believe someone is already asking a question regarding the dividends for the interview, so the other aspect I am interested in would be if AM has future plans for devoting a person or group of people towards the advertising of the company's products. A lot of shareholders are already pointing out the need for improvement in this area so I am sure it will be addressed before Gen4. In regards to the communication aspect, this has been discussed ad nauseam. Fried Cat has repeatedly acknowledged the need for consistent and clear communication to his shareholders. This would insinuate he does see the value in providing as much clarity to us as strategically viable, so I think your assertion that his communication has tapered off due to the nature of the inquiries is imprecise. The vast majority of us are patient, understanding and quite loyal towards him given he has been a mysterious character until a couple of weeks ago.

I believe they are just placed within his current guides. Hopefully with the imminent shipment of SP-30 GB orders these advertisements may see more eyes, even if it's mostly people who have already purchased. Can somebody correct me if I'm missing anything.
