Yup...too much risk buying a "proprietary" design from a defunct business. For all anyone knows, they could sell it to multiple parties without any regulation (unless there are actually patents and lawyers involved, though again, HF's balance sheet would indicate otherwise). On a side note...it would appear as though someone is testing/sprint burning ~30 PH/s at odd intervals to directly impact (or even directly aim to set) the difficulty, and perhaps the fiat price. There's no way those two enormous booms in hashrate centered around the 1st of November and now December have been due to aggregate luck alone.

You're talking about 504 block luck being ~6-7% higher than the 2014 block average. That's high, but hardly impossibly or even unlikely.

Perhaps you're right...it wasn't like the price swung either way to compensate, which assuming we're at an aggregate network marginal revenue = cost point, it should have (at least in a non-stochastic model, which...right).

Thought I read somewhere that the site in that reddit post is a scam... I posted that earlier but I deleted the post. I asked AMhash if they were reselling AMHash and was told they were not. The reddit post doesn't mention AMHash though, just ASICminer. So, there might be such a deal in place that AMHash doesn't know about. I thought it best to delete the post until it can be clarified by FC.

No wonder then I couldn't find the post saying it EDIT: would like a confirmation/denial from FC though. Usually he makes a confirming post if a thread is started on here by the reseller. Might be in the chinese subforum but alas I don't speak chinese

You really are dense if you don't see the irony in someone with a HUGE CHEESY SHILL SIG calling someone else (who do not have such a sig) a "shill." The Prisma is reviled as a POS. How can anyone honestly seek to inflict then on others?

You know how some people have trouble dealing with grief? Mothers keeping the kid's room untouched for years after a child dies, imagining the kid's going to come home any time now, that sort of thing?

lol it is amazing how these guys still have faith after everything. If this was ANY other company people would have bailed long a go. I never invested at IPO or paid much attention to AM since their miners back then were so over priced. I just do not see what makes this company so good to people? I can not wrap my head around it... Gen 1 - Over priced, but first to market en masse + made a few people rich with crazy divs Gen 2 - Never launched Gen 3 - Did not perform as expected Gen 4 - Questionable + Very strong competition these days AMHash - Unknown at this point They lack PR/Marketing, Prisma was not well received, not much communication with investors and customers... What do they do well exactly? Edited to not sound so bad...

Why do people even post here? Some people have diversified portfolios. Sometimes investments work, sometimes they don't. Stahp.

People post because that is what you do on a public forum. I guess that sounded a bit harsh, but that was not my intention. I am just curious why you guys have so much faith in this company. I honestly am not trying to troll here.

I am sure that many have their own reasons. Mine is as follows: I have watched every company in the Asic space since the first Avalons... I have watched the scams, failures, and sucessess.. There are far more of the former than latter. AsicMiner for all of its faults, has not publicly and intentionally misled either by IPO or product.. Yes. They have had setbacks. They also have had many opportunities to run away with astounding sums of money and vanish into the wind, but provided dividends. Yet, they are still here.. This is why I have faith. . They have proven their integrity. For better or worse, they have earned my respect. Anyone else care to share their reason?

The reason is simple, no matter how bad AM performs, people have to stay because there's no alternatives. It's the only one in the BTC stock market now. Others are almost all scam or failure.

They're one of the few that isn't actually a scam. Maybe a crappy company, maybe destined for failure, but above all, they're not a scam. For all the glamour of NEO&BEE, and all the fancy forums of GAW, there's only one investment that I'm not worried about disappearing tomorrow... Who knows, maybe GEN4 will be a success. Sure, it could bomb like GEN2, but nobody really knows until it happens. They've got some time left to get their act together, and it's possible they will... Full disclosure: I own a single share of AM. Maybe I'm trying to pump the price to exit high.
