101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $300 Million Crypto Scam in India. on: November 10, 2023, 04:35:39 AM
Where did it happen? Ohhh in India? The country which is famous for scamming other people. I don't want to generalize the country as a whole, but many Indians are scammers. Well, I guess I'm watching Youtube channels who are baiting, and hacking those Indians scammers too much that I think of the whole country as scammers.

TBH, since I've seen many Youtube videos that is exposing Indian scammers, I didn't surprised that they can make a scam this huge.

We've probably watched the same video, mate, LOL... And yeah, there are lots of scams in India, but it happens in other countries too. These scams typically occur in poor countries, but they say India is a rich country with poor people.

Government official getting involved? I'm not even surprised that they are involved TBH. Most of the government officials are corrupt, and include also the fact that they have the power. Authorities, and those who have knowledge in crypto are milking those newbies and those who are financially illiterate. Kind of sad, but that's how the world is. Some will go up, some will go down.

Overall, nothing surprising especially it's the Indians who are perpetrators in this crypto scam. I just hope that those who got scammed will learn on this mistake.

There are other countries with reported crypto scams as well, like in the Philippines, but I haven't heard any news about government officials or the National Police being part of the scams. This news is quite alarming because the involvement of officials suggests that law enforcers at higher ranks may have benefited from this before it was exposed.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 10, 2023, 04:14:27 AM
I’m staying away from the bets today. The Bucks haven’t been playing great and the odds aren’t there to bet either side. Sometimes the best way to win is to not play. With Dame shooting terribly and Giannis seemingly having his issues with the change of PG I don’t feel confident they can win every night regardless of their opponent.

And worst, they are going to travel to the Pacers home court, so they will be at a disadvantage as the Pacers is also having a good record, they are almost similar, so I will stay away from them.
Even though the Pacers had the advantage, it turned out to be a close game. The Pacers beat the Bucks by only 2 points, despite Giannis scoring 50+. The Bucks were leading in the 4th quarter but got exhausted in the final minutes of the game. It was a tough loss for the Bucks, and even without Lillard, the Bucks came to play.

And it's a interesting game, Hawks vs the Magic, as they will be played in Mexico City and this is a potential expansion city so we will see.

And with that I will have the Hawks at -1.5 at @1.72 as well, same with @danherbias07.

The Hawks are leading by 4 points at the half. This game is being played without much defense, resulting in a high-scoring match. Both teams have already combined for 142 points in the first half alone.
103  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Reward for a Trading Mentor on: November 09, 2023, 09:41:08 PM
What is the best reward for mentorship? How do you think I should reward the mentor when I have one? And how often should this be?

If you guys can give me some ideas, it will help me to take charge of the conversation when I meet with the potential mentor.
Believe it or not, the reward that mentors expect is money because they don't teach you for free and usually professional mentors will provide classes at different rates. If you study with a mentor who doesn't expect money, I think his trading ability needs to be doubted and maybe he doesn't have good trading skills. Even if there is a mentor like the one you described, it is likely that he will only teach ordinary trading and will not be much better in terms of the technical side of what they teach. So far I have not found a single mentor who is willing to teach trading for free, except when discussing on this forum with several people who have good knowledge about trading.

You have to know beforehand, is the mentor teaching you voluntarily or is there something else he wants to get from you as a token of service? Of course, in this case you understand the mentor's side much better because usually people will be seen when we start to go deeper into their lives.
Aside from paying all his efforts through money, I think the best reward you can give to your mentor is by seeing yourself creating improvement in your trading career. Remember that a part of you is credited from him, and your success is also his success. So whatever that made you who you are after his mentoring, it will be an honor for him seeing you have learned a lot and is now applying all your knowledge into trading.

Money is actually the main reason why mentors accept newbies for mentoring. But we should also know that if we are grateful for what they have done to us, we can always chose to give them more as long as its given through goodwill.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 02:08:11 PM
~~~
He need to be more mature to know how to handle some situation like that since if he let those bad chants goes in his head then he's gameplay will get affected with that. So instead of getting distracted with those people hate him to perform more better and defeat the team they like he should focus and inspired to became a more though player. And once he can do that for sure Wemby can earn a lot of respect not only with the fans but also for those players who play in the league for so many years.
The Spurs really need to bounce back. After that 38-point performance, things have been going downhill for Wemby, and it seems like he's not showing the resilience of a true warrior. He's not coming back strong after each loss, so as a bettor, I think I'll just keep an eye on his team for now. I'm staying away from betting on them.
To many things to work on and since he is on the right team and right coach for sure he can develop all of those if he show some willingness to learn more from great people who trained him.
He's just a rookie, and he's likely to win the Rookie of the Year award. So, the pressure is on for him, you know. People are talking about him because of his size, but if he can't consistently improve, I'm worried he might end up as a one-time wonder player.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 09, 2023, 01:29:43 PM
Yes, odds aren't available yet but i'm guessing, Northport and NLEX would be the favorites to win in their respective games.
Northport might be the favorite, but when it comes to NLEX against Phoenix, I'm not so sure. Phoenix is a solid team, although they might not be as strong as SMB and Ginebra. I was actually planning to place some bets on the PBA and NBA, but there's a hitch—I don't feel like withdrawing my Bitcoin right now because of the high transaction fees.
This is kind of strange. Betting odds should already be available by now, but I've checked the gambling sites I use, and none of them have posted odds for the games tomorrow. I'm not sure what's causing this delay, but I have a feeling they'll be up tomorrow morning.
What about you guys? What alternatives are you exploring at this time?
That's a problem now if your funds is in your bitcoin wallet, as per https://mempool.emzy.de/.. the high priority is over $6. Shocked
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost of my capital has made me to have a change of mind about Bitcoin . on: November 08, 2023, 09:36:48 PM
Greetings to everyone,please i am new in this forum and I was directed by my friend to join the forum to get information and answers that I need to know about Bitcoin.
The challenge started when a friend introduced  cryptocurrency to me and I picked interest about it ,I  started making some researches on how to trade and invest in Bitcoin ,I downloaded candle stick bible as directed by my friend so I can have a good knowledge on how to understand the reasons for the formation of each of those candles  And the reasons for their existence,
I went through those stress to also learn how to analyze and also to know bullish and bearish moves ,to know when the market is trending and choppy but after all these processes and following those strategies I will still loose my capital . However, my question here is ' what is the best strategy to trade without losing my initial capital ?.
 Please friends I need advice and answers to this question because I know we have crypto experts here in the forum who will assist me and also educate me on what I need to know about Bitcoin trading .Thanks .
There's no certain strategy that will prevent you from losing in trading most especially if you are still in the process of learning to trade. Trading is learned in a hard way that you need to lose a lot first before you are taught on how to trade the right way. That is why it takes years for a trader to become  a pro trader and become profitable on his trades. Those who can't be patient from losing a lot have end up quitting from trading and just focus on investing and long-term hodling.
Experience will make you a good trader in the process. But it does not mean that even if you become a good and professional trader, you will not experience losses in trading. Losses are part of trading and you can't do nothing about it but learn to accept the reality.
107  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 08, 2023, 08:24:01 PM
Honestly, I'm actually quite bored of hearing the words 'I'm still young, why do I have to save, I have to enjoy life', to be honest, these words are trap sentences that always appear in the minds of young people, so I continue to emphasize that everyone should learn to invest from an early age, and don't refuse to feel the sensation. People who are used to managing their money well at a young age will definitely be successful people when they are old. Neglecting to manage finances is actually not an exact science, so it requires full patience to be able to master it and only time will tell.
A lot have been actually saying this that they have to enjoy their life first before they get tied to the responsibilities the moment they build their own family and raise their family. For me, there is nothing wrong with this but it's like some opportunities will be wasted if you receive some opportunities that are given to you at an early age. Because in reality, we can still enjoy our life while we continue to seize every opportunity that comes.
Most probably this mindset is formed because we are raised with different parents and each parent has varied mindset about financial stability and when to start processing it. Some are encouraged to start saving at an early age and live life frugally. While some are exposed to life's luxuries early so their mindset is like they don't need to chase financial responsibility unless they start to experience the hard times of life. That's the reason why people end up early or late in building their financial stability, but that's not the problem. There's no perfect age for financial responsibility, but I must say the earlier the better. You will live life your life to its fullest while you are still young and motivated.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s your strategy on high volatility slot game? on: November 08, 2023, 03:03:44 PM
I play slot games but I always avoid high volatility slot games such as hacksaw and nolimit because this provider often gives more lose bets without hitting anything big even with bonus round. I’m not how did some players manage to become successful hitting huge multiplier from this provider.
There are probably some who are succesful but it doesn't mean casinos are losing, only luck could beat them temporarily and based on your experience you don't have luck on it, best thing to do is just to hope and pray you'll win as no fixed strategy could help you win.
Are betting fixed amount of spin on each game then move on to the next slot game after the you reach your target spin count or you wait to hit something big before you switch games.
In an event that you hit early huge multiplier, do you still play using same game or you immediately switch different game?
This would only make things complicated, this kind of game cannot be won by any gambler in the long run, but if you have fun doing such kind of thing, then go ahead, but don't expect consistent win. Lastly, still stay safe, gamble responsibly.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 08, 2023, 02:35:32 PM
Time to talk about Fury's willingness to face Usyk and what's next for Ngannou. Fury trained at McDonald's in this fight so I still doubt Ngannou can beat any of the top 20 in boxing. Derek Chisora is Ngannou's easiest fight that is also marketable but the former is most likely to win if given proper time to train and isn't paid to take a dive.
Why not go directly against popular heavyweight boxers like Joshua and Wilder, for instance? I mean, if Ngannou almost beat Fury, I'm sure he can compete well against boxers who have a lower ranking compared to Fury. However, if what you stated is true that Fury trained at McDonald's in that certain fight, then I guess Ngannou was just overrated.
Pretty sure Ngannou will only look for the next biggest offer. A lot of promoters are negotiating. Promoters are racing who gets him first. It seems like they are looking at Ngannou as easy money for their fighters. Cheesy
With what Ngannou did to fury that he almost beat the champ, people would expect to see him fight more if that rematch will not happen anytime sooner. I feel that even Ngannou just recently make his debut in boxing, he will be a problem to the active boxers, so a big name in boxing against him will certainly make a lot of money for promoters.
But I like Ngannou countering Wilder by saying that he will fight him if they have a 2-fight contract, 1 in boxing and the other 1 in MMA. I can only hope that there are willing sponsors for an MMA fight, otherwise, Ngannou will be forced to only box Wilder. But there's also AJ and the potential Usyk-Fury winner.
That's not gonna happen, and besides, if they'll fight in boxing, they will make way bigger money compared to what they'll make in UFC. a 2 fight contract is okay though, but it should be both in boxing, that way they'll increse their income especially if the first fight is a close one.
So far Ngannou is planning to make his PFL debut and then back into boxing. He really wants a Fury rematch even sending a message requesting Usyk to step aside. I doubt the Ukrainian will even care to respond though, Ngannou is a just nuisance to him.
He should focus in boxing as that's where he'll make a lot of money, and he has to be patient though, Usyk won't step aside as he'll also make a lot of money with his unification fight with Fury.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 09:43:29 PM
I just do the right thing for me and ignore them since they're not part of my present and future with bitcoin. The fact that they don't believe on my investment choice then I don't have to believe on them either. That's simple, let them live with their own beliefs and I have to live on my own. I should not feel affected from the negativity they show to me, because if I do that, it's like I'm letting them control the outcome of my life's decisions.
Bitcoin is my passion and my future, so I need to work and grow my investment whatever it takes. Let the other people criticize my choice of investment, and for me that never matters at all. I live to pursue my life's goals, and for me that should be my priority and should focus on achieving on it.
111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You are also like them? on: November 07, 2023, 01:25:42 PM
First and foremost, I am not a fan of these Youtubers doing ridiculous clickbait thumbnails of BTC and other cryptos going on 10x, 100x or so. It's like they are on shilling mode not caring about the subscribers but only on the views and revenue from Youtube ads.
One of my friends who is a Youtube crypto influencer is also like that and has his own Patreon subscription packages for his TAs, etc. Despite that he's my friend, I am not a fan of his clickbaits and predictions as technical analysis aren't offering any guarantees at all.
I would rather follow those content creators who are ethical and more on realistic education about BTC and other cryptocurrencies. This is what I have been doing where I just simply feature projects without encouraging nor discouraging anyone to buy this, buy that, etc., as I am just more on education and pure information purposes.
Therefore, going back to the OP's question, I ain't like them and I do not see myself to be like these crypto Youtubers making nonsense predictions here and there just to gain more views, subscriptions, etc.
This is not new for majority of the YouTubers as their main goal is not to educate us with legit information and facts but to create an impression from us by making predictions and technical analysis that are actually out of the blue and are far from reality. However, it’s only us that are being aware of their fake predictions while those newbies with less knowledge and are inexperienced ones end up falling on their traps and click on their subscriptions.
This is the reason why these type of YouTubers do not stop from hyping the market because they still get some subscriptions and continue to believe on them blindly. While those who are being fair on their predictions on the crypto market and bitcoin only receive limited views and are seldom to get subscriptions from their viewers.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 07, 2023, 12:30:12 PM
I don't know much about Oscar Duarte but I think he is also atmost an average boxer and Garcia even with his poor Technics should be able to put him away with a strong left hook that connects well.
In paper he seems to be a good boxer, with a high percentage of knockouts. And I would compare him to Luke Campbell whom Ryan face before, good boxer and has a decent power and then Ryan was caught experiencing his first knock down. So I think in the beginning it will be very difficult for Ryan but once he got his rhythm and landed his left hook he could win by a KO.
This marks a new beginning for Ryan Garcia. His loss to Tank cannot linger in his mind; he should continue to work hard until he gets the opportunity to fight for a championship. It's not too late for him; many boxers have made comebacks after significant losses. To start, he needs to secure an impressive victory, and by that, I mean winning by knockout.
It would be quite interesting to read the story of him beating a KO artist with a KO. It's sure to capture the attention of fans, and they'll begin hyping up Ryan's name once more.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 07, 2023, 11:53:54 AM
Though no odds yet but i have my eye on Blackwater because Converge has lost their key players to SMC teams.
Isn't Blackwater like a farm team? Even though Converge released two key players, I still think they're a stronger team than Blackwater. So, I believe the quality of the imports on both teams will make a big difference. The team with the better import will likely win.
I expect this game to be close, so I might consider taking the handicap for Blackwater because I think they'll be the underdog.
Yeah, you are right mate, the quality of imports will make the difference even if Converge has a little edge on the local players but for me it doesn't matter on these two teams but of course i will take the one with handicap when betting for Blackwater. So far, no odds yet even though its less than 20 hours to go before the game.
Later, we are going to check the odds for this matchup. The game is quite early, and I might not be able to watch it as I'll be busy tomorrow. However, I have my eyes on the Bolts vs. ROS game. Hopefully, Coach Yeng can elevate ROS's performance as he has done in the past. If that doesn't happen, I might start believing that his coaching style has become obsolete.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 03, 2023, 04:26:01 PM
I am one of those folks that have been hyped after all of the rumors of Lillard's trade going from this and there but then, after seeing the recent games that he has together with Giannis. It seems that hope becomes a disappointment to me and I guess that it's not just me that has been disappointed on them but also the others that have felt the same thing.
Everyone was excited when the trade happened, and the team became the top favorite to win the championship. However, when we look at the Bucks now, the team before the trade seemed better. Players like Jrue Holiday could make contributions on both offense and defense, providing strong defensive capabilities to the team.
Well, moving on with Wemby since he's the hot take this time. Beating the Suns twice is actually impressive. That only proves that even with a buffed roster, he is just proving himself and I think many had laughed at his statement before that he's going to beat the strongest players and will claim that title of being the strongest and best in the league.
Well, still early to say but at least he's proving what he has said before and he's really got something to boast with. Gregg really have to cultivate this guy into a man and he'd definitely define himself as an alien that's hard to beat.
He's turning into an alien, LOL! Wemby seems destined to become one of the greatest. If he can maintain this level of performance in every game, there's a chance he could achieve what Wilt Chamberlain did in basketball history—winning both ROY and Season MVP in the same year.
Now, it's official that Wemby is a star. Scoring 38 points as a rookie with such an efficient shooting performance (15-26) is not an easy feat to accomplish.
115  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the need to be known a requirement to qualify for a loan(s)? on: November 03, 2023, 03:35:01 PM
-snip-
you are always being watched if you don't pay off the loan on time, they will blackmail and confiscate the things you have. I suggest stop making online loans and if necessary apply for a conventional loan with a lower interest rate and they follow friendly collection rules.
Not only that, customer data will be disseminated when customers cannot pay on time.
This is quite scary where data such as KTP is very private but instead, it is disseminated.
They also have an application installed on the loaner's device and just so you know the application can intercept some important data such as SMS, location, and others.
So never deal with unverified or illegal online loans.
Conventional loans are more humane and not like online loans.
However, if the applicant is is need for a quick money, conventional loans cannot provide that but with online loans, its highly possible, but the only problem is you only get less net proceeds since their interest is high and very injustice. That is the reason why we should discourage the people not to go for online loans as they are like being taken advantage by these illegal online loans.
Now back to the question, I don't think being known is a requirement for loan qualification. As long as you can provide the necessary documents needed, and you have no negative records from other banks or lending institutions, then your loan will be approved, not maybe on the amount you desire but still you can still make a loan from them.
116  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anybody expected this? on: November 03, 2023, 02:14:42 PM
I'll be totally honest, I didn't really expect this to happen, I was more optimistic about the market going sideways for at least these couple of months and then maybe going around $31k once we enter the new year but as soon as the price went above the previous resistance, which was at $31k, it didn't stop and kept going until it touched $35k and now $35k has become the new resistance point which Bitcoin isn't being able to cross and it is going up and down around it.
Those who didn't buy when the price was around $26k since they were expecting a further drop must be regretting their decision now when there are no signs of it going back to that area anytime soon, but still, since the market is highly unpredictable, anything can happen, and the price might drop again.
I have expected this to happen but not at the current time. Probably it will be after bitcoin ETF approval or when the bitcoin halving is over. That's when I have set my assumptions that bitcoin will really hit a big price after these most awaited events. But I was certainly wrong as bitcoin end up surprising us when we least expect it.
However, my only fear is that when bitcoin suddenly drops down again before this year ends. This has happened already before when everyone expect for a new ATH but unfortunately, bitcoin price drops even more. But the good thing about this is that after a serious price plunge, that's when a new all time high starts to be visible. So let's just wait and see. The market is so unpredictable that it's capable to surprise us whether bitcoin price surge high or the other way around, bitcoin price drops deeply.
117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: November 03, 2023, 01:23:03 PM
Literally it ruined my peace of mind, many times I was really bothered of several situations like the old coins I had with zero value these days. I was wondering that bull run could take place once again, but it's kinda dream for now. Let's just keep it an inspiration, hopefully in perfect time we'll be able to survive this very rough situation that we've gone through.
That's already given mate. Expect that as long as volatility is high, we can never have the peace of mind we all deserve. Trading in such unpredictable market and its uncertain market position makes it highly risky that's why if you can't sustain your emotion and you keep on panicking whenever there is sudden price crash, then stay away trading as it will only ruin your finances in the end. Trading is only for those fearless people who still manage to deal with the risk despite of its inevitable losses waiting ahead.
But I must say trading will ruin you if you don't know how to trade in the first place. Although trading is a piece of cake for some traders, but majority still consider trading as the last option when investing alone does not work for them.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Late To Invest In Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2023, 09:07:25 PM
I am a 20-year-old student. Not long ago, I heard a famous cryptocurrency expert in Korea on YouTube.
He said, "Bitcoin investment seems to be late, to be honest. I'm sad, too. I think 2018 was the last chance for ordinary people."
This makes me feel depressed. That expert started investing in bitcoin in 2013, and he encouraged his acquaintances to invest in bitcoin, but at that time he said everyone thought he was crazy.
Honestly, as an ordinary college student, the price of bitcoin now feels too much to buy.. If it's the price of the early 2010s, I might have bought it through a part-time job..
I'm so pathetic and depressed because I didn't know Bitcoin quickly. What should I do? Cry
To be honest, there's no late investing in bitcoin. Even if you buy it at its current price, there's no wrong with that as long as you aim to hold it for long term and you only invest an amount that you can afford to lose. The challenge in bitcoin is not actually to make a good market entry, but to have a satisfying market exit. That is selling your bitcoin at a very significant amount and make you highly profitable after that. So do not be discouraged if you have not known bitcoin early, it's better late than never.
However, knowing the fact that you are still a student and has no sustainable source of income, then I suggest to focus on your studies first and forget about bitcoin. Once you're done and have already acquire a stable job, then come back to learning about bitcoin and decide to invest at your own risk. That is investing on an amount that you are comfortable to lose.
119  Economy / Economics / Re: Are You Sticking to Your Plan or Has Life Made You Pause or Modify It? on: November 02, 2023, 08:06:15 PM
We often advise newcomers asking about successful Bitcoin investment strategies to have a well-structured plan and stick to it no matter what. Nevertheless if there is anything I have learned is that in bitcoin investment it  is rarely a linear journey. And despite our best intentions and meticulous planning, unforeseen circumstances can disrupt our initial plans. For the community I want to know, has your investment plan always unfolded as expected or have unexpected events caused you to pause or modify your plan? Despite our best efforts there are instances where sticking rigorously to a plan becomes challenging due to the unpredictable nature of life.
It's actually good to have a solid plan before you decide to invest. That will serve as your motivation to keep on going because you certainly have a goal to achieve. But sometimes, due to the market volatility and unforeseen events suddenly happen, we are forced to change plans because things have been working not based on our plans. And I don't see wrong of that because it only means that you are flexible enough to any market changes. That does not mean also that once you change plans, there is less likely to achieve your goal. Of course, the same goal is there. It's just that a change of action is needed that you think will be more effective so that the goal of your investment will still be achieved. If there's a need to adjust, then accept it. After all, no plan is perfect because we don't know what the future holds. Just be flexible whenever its needed.
This was the comment of his coach before when he was still with the Converge.
PBA: Maverick Ahanmisi playing his best basketball yet thanks to Aldin Ayo
Quote
Ahanmisi is averaging a career-best 18.3 points on top of 6.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in six games this season while coming off the bench.
We can't deny that he played really well during his time with Converge, especially when he was fully healthy. I think initially he was just on the bench, but as the season went on, he got a spot in the starting lineup. If Coach Tim Cone needs a go-to player, he can always pick him for the job. Over time, he'll fully adapt to the Gin Kings' system and their 'never say die' spirit.
