1081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries have banned Bitcoin; Do you believe is because of criminal activities on: July 18, 2022, 08:33:34 PM
We all know that bitcoin/crypto being used for criminal activities is only minuscule. Countries just ban Bitcoin because they know they can't control it; simple as that.
Yes. They can't benefit bitcoin since its out of their control, so might as well ban it. Countries' government would not only consider their people's interest but also their own and personal desires. If they can't earn big from it, then its better for bitcoin not to exit anymore. But not all countries have tried to ban bitcoin, some are still left undecided whether to accept it or not.
1082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 17, 2022, 09:39:01 PM
Trading can be compared to gambling in the sense that in both of them you basically make 'bets' on the outcome of a certain event at a certain time.
But there is a big difference between the two --> in gambling you are doomed to lose while you can make a good living out of trading, but it takes tremendous amount of work and dedication.

Another important distinction is that in gambling you always know how much you're losing on a single game (you can't lose more than what you bet), while in trading you can get your whole account erased if you don't apply sounds risk management principles.
Yes, basically both gambling and trading have their own risks. But the only difference is that in gambling, the outcome is more uncontrollable. Even if you think you have made your best bet, but the result still goes the opposite. While in trading, provided that you have good experience and well managed strategies that have proven useful in most of your trades, most likely the outcome is very positive. Although there are also number of gamblers who create fortune through betting, but most likely its more on trading that gives us a good living.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: July 15, 2022, 02:02:04 PM
This is what we called superstitious belief, right?

Well, I think every gambler has their own way of attracting luck, but for me, I'd rather believe in statistics and the chances of winning than luck. There are times we get lucky but we can never get consistent with that, so for me, Fengshui or whatever it is that would make me lucky is not necessary anymore as luck will just come when you are not expecting it, just like a thief in the night.
1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 15, 2022, 01:20:38 PM

New coach, different style, let's see if the Lakers system will be more effective under him. It would be a big accomplishment of the coach if he could make Westbrook better because last season was probably the worst season of Russell Westbrook after winning an MVP award.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/westbru01.html

That is if Westbrook remains with the Lakers. We all know that Lebron is keen to trade away Westbrook. Even if they fail to trade him, do you think Lebron and Westbrook will still have good chemistry after they throw Westbrook under the bus?

There's no other way Westbrook will leave the Lakers but through a trade, if they don't want him, they will find a way to trade him and I'm sure there are lots of teams that will be interested in getting him as he is the Mr. Triple double, he just needs to be given the system that will make him play his game, but unfortunately, it's not going to be a championship team as he does not play good teamwork.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 15, 2022, 12:16:26 PM
Yep, even Ray Leonard had some public exhibitions after his detach retina operation. So it's in their DNA, nevertheless they should know when to pull the breaks otherwise it might endanger their lives for good. And this is we don't want to see happen to Manny in the future. Sure, he can take some exhibitions fight, but still at 40, he needs to be very careful as well. Probably just light touches from his opponents will be ok, but not the brutal punch to the head or something.
Just follow the script if there is and they will be safe.

I see exhibition fights are scripted fights, it's just a way to entertain fight but boxers already know that they have limitations and rules to follow, otherwise, it will be very risk for both boxers since it's not their profession anymore, hence, they are not training like they usually do.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: July 15, 2022, 11:35:47 AM
The source explores how around 49% of the users would deposit more money based on better withdrawal options.

This is really strange for me as why would people deposit more if there are better withdrawal options  Huh

I assume that people will deposit in those casino which give them bounses on each deposit. This seems logical to me and casino should consider this option if they want people to deposit more and play more at the casino. Yes, casino can put strict wagering requirements so that no gambler cannot misuse these deposit bonus offers.

For serious gamblers, bonuses are not really that important, they rely on their skills to win and if they are winning, they like to withdraw it anytime they want. Casinos with big limits and fast withdrawal processing could really attract gamblers.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 15, 2022, 10:49:48 AM
Let's just give Darvin Ham the benefit of a doubt for now, I know he is somehow inexperienced when it comes to being a head coach but all coaches who became a head coach started the same stage as with Coach Darvin's situation now. The whole management surely thought of this hard and the fact that they picked Darvin as the new head coach really means something.
About Darvin Ham, I heard that he's also keen to keep Westbrook in the roster as he's willing to give Westbrook a 2nd chance to prove his worth and he also said that he could bring something out of Westbrook which Vogel didn't. Anyway, let's see!
Yes, it's not like every coach is a veteran when they came in.
I like his attack, he's already optimistic about what he can do with Westbrook. A new plan from a new head coach and maybe he really have something up in his sleeves.
The difference with Coach Vogel maybe because he was a defensive coach and WB is not. That's a player who is most likely better with Coach Mike D'Antoni who plays small ball speed offense. Run and gun.

New coach, different style, let's see if the Lakers system will be more effective under him. It would be a big accomplishment of the coach if he could make Westbrook better because last season was probably the worst season of Russell Westbrook after winning an MVP award.

1088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: July 14, 2022, 01:15:00 PM
That's right, more option is better when it comes to deposits, but the most important is instant withdrawal.

I have not gambled in fiat casinos but in crypto casinos, I can only name few of the gambling site that has an instant witdrawal, and some does not even charge a withdrawal fee that's why I can say that they are attracting gamblers and have improve their reputation.
1089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 13, 2022, 12:53:59 PM
Is the fight today? I'm trying to look at the results and so far I can't find any.

I wanted for Nietes to win this one, at least restored order in boxing for Filipinos as one by one the champion has lost their belt, recently, Magsayo on a very tough match against Vargas.

I'll probably look if there is someone in Facebook that might share this fight for free.  Smiley

There are three accounts sharing the live feed and this is one of them the commentators are all Japanese, so you are left on your own to analyze the fight if you don't understand Japanese, so far the fight is dead even  no one has a disadvantage, they are still sizing each other.

https://www.facebook.com/105609045521138/videos/797843414914891

Thanks for the link, seems like Nietes has lost his aggressiveness already, there's no KO from this fight, and once it will go to the judges scorecards, we already know who is the winner, not biased judgement but it's very obvious that Kazuto Ioka is the aggressor in this fight.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 13, 2022, 12:18:22 PM

By the way, Meralco seemed to be winning again and they will beat a big fish which is the Ginebra.

No more come back with few minutes left in the game, Meralco is already up 15 points with less than 8 minutes in the 4th quarter.

I didn't expect the result, the line seemed to be a trap, so Meralco won here easily.
90-73 FINAL SCOre

This season is getting more exciting, teams in the bottom are not giving up, they want to climb to be in the elimination round.

Newsome and Banchero lead the team to this big win.
Congratulations Meralco.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just my one cent advice on: July 12, 2022, 10:56:46 PM
Anyone noticing new projects still raising millions of dollars? Mohash and Dynamic for example, I think new projects will replace lots of top altcoins in coming years and my advice to young investors is to find new projects to mix with their portfolio, remember that Matic, Polkadot, Avalnache are once all new projects in 2018/2019..
I still doubt that because most of the new projects in the market still end up unsuccessful. Though there are some who turn out to be exceptional, but still they never live longer in the market unlike those established altcoins do. Well, I’m not against investing in new projects as others still find fortune in them, but the fact that they are new, they will find it hard to prove their worth, and won’t even sure if they can sustain the market volatility, and may only follow the fate of those new projects who die eventually.
1092  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do we spot the crypto bottom? on: July 12, 2022, 10:18:41 PM
Hi

Been wondering how to tell we have reached the crypto bottom? have we already bottomed out(I personally don't think so im not sure). If we look at the current world financial system - it looks dire. surely this will all have a impact on people investing in crypto and when funds are short, may even withdraw their investment.

Personally, because of the state of the financial system, I cannot see how crypto can become bullish as long as the world economy doesn't show signs of a recovery . I could be wrong though ?

what are your thoughts on this? Is a further crash on the horizon?
We can only predict that the market is in its bearish state, but there’s no way that we can tell if the current price is already the bottom or not. Because if we only can, then everyone will be in panic buying and accumulate as much as they can. But the market is hardly unpredictable. Looking at the market scenario right now, I can only tell that there are more low prices waiting ahead, we just have to be patient while waiting for it.
1093  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best time to buy or wait a little bit ? on: July 12, 2022, 09:32:36 PM
I think this is good time to buy and keep holding.  I don't think the price of Bitcoin will go bellow $17k. It was last dip for bitcoin.  The market is now somewhat stable. And altcoins now trying  to recover. I think bitcoin also will pump soon. Also Altcoin will pump. So in my opinion i mean this is a good time to but bitcoin and altcoins also
Well, no one can really tell if bitcoin's last dip has already achieved or not. What we have are just wild guesses.  But looking at the current market scenario, this is already a perfect time time for accumulation. Do not wait for more dip prices as bitcoin price will always be hard to predict. If you have more funds on hand, then i suggest do DCA. Learn to buy in every price drop. But never spend all your hard earned money just for a single investment.
1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most of us have lived a world of USD dominance, but history changes on: July 12, 2022, 08:33:09 PM
I'm also hopeful of Bitcoin becoming the world chief reserve currency, and being used for majority of international trades, but it's improbable that it would be the next one, if at all it's going to reach that status as lots of government politics goes into that.

There is likely to be at least one more currency which would topple USD as the global currency in the next century before Bitcoin would be globally accepted.
For everyone that gets to see the potentials of bitcoin, we are of course hopeful for bitcoin to be part of the global history, becoming a global currency one of these days. However, the government should learn to see its potentials first and its utility case, and approve it all along. Otherwise, bitcoin will certainly face a lot of struggles and government oppositions just to become a global currency in the future. We know bitcoin will definitely get there, but the process will be very tough and hard for bitcoin.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for a crypto that won't depend on BTC anymore on: July 11, 2022, 11:21:43 PM
The majority of investors and traders are increasingly understanding crypto fundamentals before investing, is there any crypto that moves itself according to its fundamentals both now and in the future?
That’s absolutely hard to find crypto coins that are not dependent on the future of bitcoin, because even shitcoins are. Even if they are hyped, they fall eventually when bitcoin price is falling. And when bitcoin is surging, all the crypto coins in the market are also influenced and they make positive prices along the way. I guess the fact that bitcoin is the future of the crypto market, everything in the market will be dependent on it.
1096  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret buying before the dip on: July 11, 2022, 08:41:16 PM
Do I regret buying before the dip? No not at all. Would I regret buying after the dip? Definitely. Buy the dip and hodl. Thats all the strategy I need. In fact, I would prefer not to even think about the "end" of the dip and just buy whenever I see such massive Bitcoin discounts. Because in reality, thats what they are. Discounts. And once you start thinking of them that way, you will find yourself buying at every dip.

Don't fool yourself into "waiting for the perfect opportunity". 1 BTC = 1 BTC
Bitcoin will always grow, regardless if you buy it before the dip or just buy in the dip. So there's no need to regret, as long as you have your long term investment plan, you will never be at loss. However, if you prefer to get more discounts and buy more bitcoin, then do DCA during the dip. That will be  more profitable. But always know as long as you chose to invest in bitcoin and maximize your portfolio through hodling it, then there will be huge profits waiting ahead, just be more patient while you're still in the process.
1097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The cryptocurrency market is currently a hot spot for whales. on: July 10, 2022, 09:35:23 PM
Whales simply use it as a playground. Even if there is a crash, you cannot rely on price movements. When there are liquidations for longs and shorts, the market takes a big swing to screw as many people as possible.
What do you expect from whales? They play wise and smart, and they are always quick to take advantage whenever the market is showing some opportunities to invest. While they keep on doing that to increase their volume of bitcoin, they also start to shake the market so that weak hands will resort into panic selling at a very affordable price. Thus, making them richer while those weak hands turn out the poorest of the poor.
1098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Be a Failure Even If It Hits $100,000, Says "Black Swan" Author !! on: July 10, 2022, 08:39:11 PM
Bitcoin promoters are betting on an eventual recovery that will vindicate their strength of conviction. However, even if the flagship cryptocurrency manages to surge to as high as $100,000 during another bull market, it will still be a failure, according to Nassim Taleb.

I don't understand his logic about the bitcoin failure. Saying that even if bitcoin make $100k, it will still fail doesn't actually make sense. Maybe even if bitcoin make $1m, it will still fail.
It's just like saying even if I live upto 100yrs that I will still die. Is he coming from the premise that whatever that has a beginning must surely have an end?

Talking about El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, he is a great man and needs to be celebrated. From henceforth I consider him one of my bitcoin heroes. Holding strong and standing strong amidst bloody market and even buying more is a show of great believe in bitcoin .
He won't be convinced that bitcoin has already succeeded because he's a great opposition, and that he would always prefer to tell about negativity of bitcoin and criticize for that. However, only fools and with the same mindset of him will only believe that bitcoin is a huge failure, and that won't be our loss either. As long as bitcoin threaten the whole fiat system, i think that proves alone that bitcoin did not failed but almost overcome the performance of fiat.
1099  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which crypto sportbooks are VPN friendly on: July 08, 2022, 12:16:38 PM
I don't see much difference between paid and free VPN. As for the best speed, maybe it is, but for me personally it is not critical, and the free one gives me the speed I need. And in the best disguise of the country and city from where you access the Internet, as well as the best protection of some of your personal data and their potential theft on paid VPNs, I strongly doubt it. Whatever the devs of these paid VPNs promise, I think they are all somehow controlled by the competent supervisory authorities in each country.
Mere looking at it there is no different between free and paid VPN because everything is still paid when we look at it from another perspective. The free VPN get there money from google ads that is why they still make money even though yiu don't want to paid a dime. The ads that we see using all those free VPN are source of income to the programers/owners. The free VPN sometimes does not allow us to select a region where we want the ip address to be fixed but they are still the same.
Then it's better to choose a paid VPN, when you are gambling, that means you are capable of risking money, so I'm sure a monthly subscription of a VPN for a gambler is not that expensive. At least, with a paid VPN, you can get what you want, the IP country you like and you'll be in a server that are less congested.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Payouts in casinos on: July 08, 2022, 10:57:32 AM
To be honest, I don't understand the meaning of payouts, I have to do some research so I could get some idea.

here are the Top 10 Best Payout Casinos;
https://ftnnews.com/other-news/42537-ranking-of-the-best-casinos-with-the-highest-payouts

I honestly thought that payouts is what a gambling site would return every time our bet wins.
Can anymore explain it in a detailed manner and give some example using the popular crypto casinos here?
