1041  Other / Meta / Re: found this reading old threads. on: August 18, 2023, 04:10:05 PM
I think back in the day, users would request the admin at that time to delete their accounts, but in order for the posts not get destroyed along so as not to mess up threads. The username of the account would just be renamed as anonymous.
1042  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP and reading personal messages on: August 18, 2023, 03:31:34 PM
We don't log your IP address when the extension contacts our server but if you don't trust us you should use Tor or VPN. The extension can technically read any data from your BitcoinTalk session, including your PMs, but it doesn't do so. It collects user IDs from the page you're looking at - e.g. a list of posts in a thread - and sends that list of IDs to bpip.org to get info about those users, and only does so if you turn the optional features on (these features are off by default).

IMO, this is what I understood from what Suchmoon said. The fact is that the extension can read all the data on the page you are viewing, but it only collects other forms of data, such as User IDs. It's not designed/modified to collect data from PMs

The good thing is the code is open source. Anyone with some technical knowledge can help review it.
1043  Other / Meta / Re: Still kicking. on: August 18, 2023, 02:59:39 PM
How about you send a DM to Theymos with better proof that the account is yours?
That is not the current procedure they use to recover accounts. There is a special team that now handles account recoveries and not Theymos. OP just has to follow the right procedure and send them and email. He will get back his account in a matter of weeks if he is the original owner instead of just trolling around here.
1044  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcointalk is censoring my topics on: August 18, 2023, 10:51:49 AM
You keep doing the same things against the forum ethics and being the problematic kind of person you are, you chose to ignore what members told you about sharing personal information/doxxing people here, and now you are blaming the forum for censoring your posts.
The truth is some of your posts even from your alts have been moved to investigations board

1045  Economy / Gambling / Re: 0xBET | Crypto Casino 🎲 Sportsbook ⚽ Fast Payouts ✅ on: August 17, 2023, 11:58:57 PM
Does this mean Icopress can log in and post updates, respond to queries while the team is away in the forum?
No. I created an account for them, and activated a copper membership to work on the design of the main thread.  Tongue
Alright, no biggie.
1046  Economy / Gambling / Re: 0xBET | Crypto Casino 🎲 Sportsbook ⚽ Fast Payouts ✅ on: August 17, 2023, 11:50:47 PM
I saw this neutral tag on OP's profile.
icopress    2023-08-16        At the moment, I (icopress) have access to the 0xBet account (will remove note when this changes).

Does this mean Icopress can log in and post updates, respond to queries while the team is away in the forum?
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Potentially miners attack? on: August 17, 2023, 10:55:54 PM
The problem started since the inception of the scam Bitcoin ordinals, and everyone who loves Bitcoin hates them. Very many times the discussion to block such a thing has gone up to the level of Bitcoin developers, but they just decided to let it be.
Obviously we know the ordinals hype will fade up with time but until then we just have to hang in there
1048  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [List] Instant exchanges on: August 17, 2023, 10:06:45 PM
Thank you, I'll add them.

As for Thorchain/ThorSwap, it looks like there has been a lot of interest[1] since they pushed their newest update (for anyone interested in reading more about it, see here[2]).

I can't seem to be able to get the rates for BTC though? I keep getting "No valid quote found". Any thoughts?
I do see the rates, but once I enter the amount of BTC I want to swap, the amount of the other coin I am going to receive does not show up. It just remains at 0.0. Also, I can't connect the wallet at all. It shows connected on my Test Trust wallet via wallet connect, but on the web app it's as though the wallet is yet to be connected. I guess it's still buggy and under upgrade as stated by HostFat
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: I'm Looking for android wallet with taproot, ledger and connecting to my node. on: August 17, 2023, 09:16:00 PM
According to this Gizchina article — Windows is most targetted, Android is next and least is Apple ecosystem. But, people use it on Windows so why not on Android?
Least targeted? How about Linux?

I think it's all about numbers. We all know that windows and Android have the biggest users over the globe, so it's natural for hackers to target those operating systems more often than iOS, macOS or Linux.

Unless browser has "install unknown apps" setting enabled, browser can't install anything on it's own. This is off by default.
But don't forget, malicious apps find their way into playstore, chrome store etc more often. This get installed normally like nay other app.

OP I have tried to check wallet scrutiny, but it looks like getting a wallet that meets all the criteria you want is close to impossible. Why taproot through?
1050  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: WARNING when using mobile device wallets (Android, iOS) on: August 17, 2023, 08:33:24 PM
Definitely no other way but to stick to original apps within our smartphones OR lets just switch to the Hardware Wallet and Paper Wallets. Best on the market so far.  Smiley
I don't think sticking to the default or stock keyboard app of the smartphone would be the best piece of advice. For example, Google also collects all kinds of data. That's why those keyboard apps can even try to predict the word you wanted to type but misspelled it, and what you might type next.

I would rather suggest one only chooses to use software wallets that have their own virtual keyboards for typing in passwords, seeds...
1051  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Low fees | Fully automated on: August 17, 2023, 08:01:54 PM
Okay, that's what I thought. So, I think it's better to use this mixer without mixing code because it's a popular mixer with high mixing volume I assume. If the volume is high, then the chances of getting my coins back should be very low or the time when I receive my coins back, they will already be clean.
Small Bitcoin volumes, yes, but this is a very different opinion from someone looking to mix 10 or 50 BTC each week or month  Cheesy
1052  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: !! Warning !! Bitget Exchange on: August 15, 2023, 11:53:09 PM
Most times I wonder why would people sending a huge funds into newly created exchange while we have trusted exchange that has been there for decades now and are pretty doing well without any bad records or much, that's why today I barely find time involving myself with those exchange because I know there aren't free from giving out silly excuses, most of the common excuses are kyc associated one that's why as a trader you have to ensure you did your kyc before sending in your funds to exchange, and it must be very little and you can decide to do it bit by bit to reduce the tension of one losing all their funds.
probably trying to look for crypto exchanges with much relaxed KYC requirements so that they can wash their funds through them and also manipulate the markets of shitcoins with low liquidity listed on those exchanges and profit more. Those are the most probable reasons but yeah, that's what you get for being too greedy and not diligent enough.
1053  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dexsport.io HUGE SCAM on: August 15, 2023, 10:59:22 PM
But you have not made a proper scam accusation, Please do what’s necessary and fill in the required information documenting how they are scammers with some evidence, show us your TX ID for deposit, screenshots of bets etc

You should also provide the ANN and profile of the service in the scam accusation for easy follow up and tagging by DT members if found guilty. Follow this format https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0
1054  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SPORTSBET.io falsely accuses me of multi-accounting, and REFUSES to pay my money on: August 15, 2023, 10:01:25 PM

I was told to wait 5 days, hopefully they will act correctly and give me my legally obtained earnings.
As per the email they wrote back to you, they said 05 Business days and not 5 days. There is a difference and I hope you know it. Weekend days do not count. So please be a little more patient as we wait for their response.
1055  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Whirlwind.money - withdrawals are not being processed ⚠️ on: August 14, 2023, 11:47:44 PM
There's an Update from Hhampuz that I have seen in the ANN thread. Hopefully everything goes back to normal. No need to panic for now

I got an email back from whirlwind just now and it was as I suspected - something happened.

Basically, main people lost access due to travels while people still with access didn't have the right credentials to solve basic issues that caused withdraws to get stuck on the back-end. I've been assured that nothing has been lost and that all will be taken care of tomorrow meaning all currently pending withdraws will be processed and things return back to normal. It was an unfortunate situation is all!

I've asked my contact at whirlwind to reply in this thread whenever they can with further details, so from now until then/tomorrow night there is no need to panic even if I wouldn't recommend you to deposit until the backlog is cleared. Campaign participants will also be paid out as per usual tomorrow, regardless of if you've removed your signature or not.

Yes
It really looks like exit scam.
Site is not accessible anymore: http://whirlwind.money/
Really sad news but I've called it earlier when I've sait it's just a matter of time:
What is the matter with you. Do you take time to read?
Several members says the clearnet has been off for a while but the onion site was functional until recently.
1056  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SPORTSBET.io falsely accuses me of multi-accounting, and REFUSES to pay my money on: August 14, 2023, 09:11:20 PM
No, I don't have any more accounts with my KYC, just one. I always use wifi, but I doubt very much that no one close to me plays at this casino, apart from a friend or two. And in the case of the VPN, there are times when PrivadoVPN opens on my PC and connects by itself, but I don't see this as a reason to take my money away.
It certainly may not be the reason to take your money, but now the task is to prove that you are not multi-accounting. I suggest you keep engaging with Sportbet support and other necessary parties for a possible resolution.

Sportsbet spend way too much on promotions, I don't think they would bend that low to scam off a customer his $1,200

Try contacting this guy and see if he can get you a quicker response sportsbet.io
There have been similar cases of multi-accounting in the past, but they would then get resolved well like this one -SPORTSBET.io accuse me with multi accounting and DONT PAY MY WINNINGS (Though your posting style looks the same in both scam accusations, are you the same person?)
1057  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SPORTSBET.io falsely accuses me of multi-accounting, and REFUSES to pay my money on: August 14, 2023, 03:32:38 PM
Indeed, as per their terms of service, they do not allow multi-accounting now it begs whether you were falsely accused or not.
My question is; Have you used a VPN service to register or log into their website before?
Has anyone else ever used your device to register or access Sportsbet? Do you have any family member/relative who also access sportsbet, and you use the same devices and internet?

Sometimes abusers use VPN services and once you innocently use the same VPN service, they will see similar IP addresses, especially for free versions and your account will be flagged, and they may think it's the same person or people.

1059  Economy / Gambling / Re: HIT A JACKPOT on BITCASINO.IO - WILL I BE PAID? MY JOURNEY HERE. on: August 13, 2023, 11:55:35 PM
Congratulations OP,

Though, you will have to first wait till the money hit your address before you can officially begin the celebrations. Bitcasino is one of those old and solid casinos that have some good reputation around. I am very positive they will pay out your money after the manual withdrawal verification.
Just be ready with your KYC documents in case they go through that route, which is a come procedure with big winnings from crypto casinos.
1060  Other / Meta / Re: What’s the real use of this forum feature? on: August 13, 2023, 11:09:21 PM
Speaking of which, does anyone know what that symbol is supposed to represent? It looks like cutting through the top of a mountain or an iceberg... and that interpretation would actually make sense.

It's the Logo of Simple machines Forum software. Admin probably just left it as it is when he was customizing the forum. The same logo appears even on their Github Profile

If you look carefully, it's actually a Lever which is a type of simple machine just like a pulley, inclined plane etc.
