It's easier to buy 0.16 and wait for price to rice for it to become 0.175 than to lend a stranger without collateral

comparison on what. What program would you like to compare
What program? It doesn't matter. Ubuntu/Linux alone will run faster. It has less components than Windows. But, yes the only down fall to Linux is the limitations with programs. But, most of the time there are alternatives which do the job. Limitations with hardware and drivers too. It's awesome for dedicated stuff, but lacking as complete everyday system in my eyes.

You can use a VPN but those can be slow. Otherwise you're unlikely to get called out on it; I think our ISPs understand that their business is more important than Hollywood's. Anyone noticed decline in p2p piracy?
mininova dead, isohunt closed, less people seeding stuff every day, despite improved internet connections over the globe. And the worst part - less and less people are archiving old good stuff. If you need some older movie/game/etc, like from 1990, then your chances are thinning every day.
The market adapted; it's more of a hassle to torrent now than it is to use Netflix (at least for Joe Average.) If they do something like this for gaming, piracy will really plummet. I guess you are right. But netflix is not available in all countries, and does not accept some payment options. And gaming? I thought steam = game netflix (kinda). Or you mean renting/sharing games? That would be crazy. My original point of view is that culture is changing. We can only depend on people who keep tons of dvd's and blu-rays stacked in their cupboards. I personally tried to throw out as much of data I previously was keeping, and now I'm somewhat sorry. EDIT: Oh, and GoodOldGames website -another gamenetflix, with awesome prices i guess EDIT2: netflix is a monthly subscription service? I thought it's an on demand service - pay per certain viewing.

I think that our attention onto this forum would profit so so so so much in the future if we would use it wisely.
I'm sure people are already feeling the benefit. Answer a question for me? Would you know as much about Bitcoin if you didn't find this forum? Actually, would you be part of the Bitcoin project if you didn't find this forum? I think that without this forum my knowledge would be much more smaller that it is now. There were 2-3 times when this forum went down for a long time. It's like a total blackout. We should have some information about backup options (irc channel, subreddit, etc) stickied on a front page.

What about the timezones and that shit? I set myself a goal of 100 (constructive) posts before the deadline, but I'm curious about what this deadline is. It's 23:32 at my place for example.
Also usually until 17th counts as 17 included.
Can someone extend on this?
I guess the latest you can go is 11:59 pacific. That's more than 36 hours. Thanks for the insight. Where is Stunna located? US? (When does the guy wake up? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ) That is if Stunna is just a single person and not a small company of course. s.t.u.n.n.a. <==== LOL!!! ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Why not? Everyone just assumes that these forum accounts are simply a single person. But the scale of operation of some of these said account are too much for a single person. Think about it.

Too bad very little people are interested in a normal debate on different topics.
Mostly people trying to get some cash, and even if there is someone you can share your interests with - they are tired of reading all the important threads first to dwell in off-topic.

This thread is exactly why we need Bitcoin ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I wonder why he didn't sell his miners on Bitmit ^^ Because people on Bitmit knew real value of those miners (if we talk about erupters) Serves him right I guess.

Among the good news is Android support, so yeah...

those who hold, can afford hoes
Nice poem, but I have a problem with this line 1: If they are not selling, how they can afford to pay for those hoes exactly? With promises of selling in the future? Write a bond or something? 2: Those who hold can probably afford hoes despite of them holding or selling EDIT: but props on your try, you captured situation around bitcoin quite nicely

So much to go still... Will it survive until it's last coin has been mined? Or a certain government's will crawl out of it's skin to kill it? Stay tuned folks.

A woman who can't be bothered to backup her epic important things ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Part of the problem, people used to backup to a tape drive and take the tapes off-line; these days most everyone is backing up to hard-drives or storage that stays connected. So, the virus encrypts your backups. So far the reports are that the virus encrypts only drives that have a letter assigned, so if you backup to a UNC share or a partition that have no letter assigned, your backups should be safe, for now. But there is nothing that prevents a next version of the virus to get to those. As such, not only do you need to backup, you also need to devise a way of taking the backups offline. Hear hear. With the current sizes of your typical photos and videos - you would need a helluva lot of blank writable media. But what about external HDD's? There's your offline backup, for a really cheap GB/$ ratio. Me myself would not care if someone encrypted my info, I can always make new. There are some important personal archives with message archives, some photos, tons of bookmarks, creative stuff like lyrics and art, but I'm tempted to delete that stuff myself on a daily basis. And in the end - paying 300$ for a valuable lesson is not as bad as having your laptop completely stolen or something.

This was cool
Fees 0.001 BTC
You don't get rich throwing your money away! Why the fuck should he pay any other sum? Those who spam dust regularly should pay higher fees, not some single (huge, who cares) transaction.

And for the last time I don't give a fuck about Bitcoin's legal status, and neither should anyone else. In fact, we should assume that's illegal and make sure our infrastructure is robust enough that it doesn't matter.
Engrave this in stone. Somewhere stony. Being simply ignorant of all these changes will end you nowhere. You can bury your head in the sand and pretend nothing happens, until your pretty ostrich ass is fucked hard.

As long as nothing happens to the exchanges, protocol or major btc players/services - prices stay the same (same up and down crazy bullshit, that is).
|
|
|
Just use a online wallet, blockchain, coinbase etc.
… and get your money stolen or get LE easy access? Come on, the bitcoin idea is be your own bank. No third party risk should be acceptable for the more security aware people. Imagine if all big online wallets are destroyed or taken by government. What will become of btc? How many coins, that are currently in circulation are stored on the cloud? 10% 20% 50% ? With these talks of regulation - if they implement it, they will surely go all-in to force it on these online wallets and(!) exchanges.
