1101  Local / India / Re: Any bitcoin ATM exist in India ? on: April 12, 2015, 02:17:49 PM
Can I start bitcoin ATM India ?

No you can not. An ATM is actually a cash vending machine. What you put in does not matter. It may be Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Pepsi, Coke anything. But you are giving out Cash. And you need RBI permission for that. Else they can raid & get you arrested anytime.
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which countries or currencies do not have their own bitcoin exchange yet ? on: April 07, 2015, 03:56:09 PM
Reverse the question, answer will be easier.
Most countries do not have any BTC exchange.

I dont think so. As most of the top exchanges accept EUR, most of the countries in Europe gets covered thereby. Probably some Asian & African nations do not have exchange for their currencies...
1103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incentive for Nodes through Economics on: April 07, 2015, 03:52:52 PM
I see the concerns with people that it could become a POS if they had a interest rate or something like that but would it be possible for miners that when miners mine they partition 1% of their hash power and it is shared to the full nodes or when a block is discovered 1% is given to the full nodes that broadcast it?

Would either of these be possible with a hardfork?

Everything is possible with a hardfork, the question "what is a full node" still stands. How to you distinguish proper full nodes from "half-ass" nodes that are just set up to get a piece of the pie.
They would have to contain a full copy of the blockchain and be open to at least 8 connections and have an up time requirement, I mean we aren't talking a ton of coin to be made here but just an bit of the piece of pie.

Wouldnt that make it profitable to snipe other nodes out of the network? If I can somehow (DDoS, etc.) reduce the number of eligible nodes in the network I would increase my part of the reward. This could result in an arms race of nodes trying to get each other unreachable by the rest of the network. This would possible reduce the number of full nodes available as the become a target.

Does not the same concern exists for miners too ? Like one miner trying to knockout other miners ?
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Funding Bitcoin Core Development on: April 07, 2015, 03:09:03 PM

US Legal and Accounting advice will be taken to confirm that the below is the best option and viable:

If you really want The Bitcoin Foundation to stay and lead the way, the first thing you need to do is take its registration out of US. Probably registering it in a crypto friendly nation like Cyprus, Panama, Mauritius or in a tax free country will be a better option. A list of Tax free countries are given below...

Vanuatu
Brunei
Oman
United Arab Emirates
Maldives
Qatar
Kuwait
Bermuda
Bahamas
Cayman Islands

1105  Local / India / Re: Future of Money - The Bitcoin Story Conference on 19th March in Ahmedabad on: April 07, 2015, 11:34:45 AM
2. He goes on to say that we thus we can see that we need an anonymous currency. Let me tell you, bitcoin is not anonymous. No crypto is. And there is a mathematical reason for it. And no that reason is not clustering and IP forensics etc.

I think it depends on how u r using bitcoin. If you use DarkWallet, u r probably anonymous.
1106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My payments are stuck !!! on: April 06, 2015, 09:40:59 PM
Low fees, might take a bit

Seems the Tx is now confirmed. But how come 0.0001 BTC is a low Tx fee ? I used to know that is the standard !!!
1107  Economy / Services / Re: BITBINGO.IO - Signature campaign - high rates - bi-weekly payments! on: April 05, 2015, 10:05:52 PM
I am sorry Bitbingo but your rates are not competitive at all. Other campaigns are paying a lot more, why someone join your campaign when he could join bit-x or dadice campaign instead? Heck even bitmixer is paying more for full members...You need to increase your rates.

For fixed pay campaigns these are actually the highest rates.

Yeah, I agree. Smiley
Terms are different though and varies from campaign to campaign.

This campaign is giving 0.01 BTC more than BitDice.me and asking for 15 more posts for that. To be truly highest rate campaign among fixed rate ones, it needs to have less number of posting requirement.
1108  Economy / Services / Re: CloudMining.website Signature Campaign - Negative trust & Jr. Members allowed on: April 04, 2015, 06:18:21 AM
Payment has now been sent to everyone's account. Both hold & re-investment has been disabled from settings. If you want to enable them, you can simply navigate to settings page to tick the respective checkbox and save them. Otherwise payment will automatically be sent to your addresses by coming Monday 6pm GMT with normal mining payout.

If I check " Keep the pending amount on hold to accumulate for re-investment ", It will automatically sent to my wallet on monday?

I think, if you check that, your accumulated amount will be re-invested. OP disabled hold & re-investment, so that you get paid on Monday. Checking them will re-enable the hold & re-investment feature.
1109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for Active traders... on: April 04, 2015, 12:33:24 AM
there are a million bitcoin exchanges that want traders at this point. so if you want volume, don't charge any fees in the start and incentivize the hell out of people to join up.

Really ? A million bitcoin exchanges ? There are ~14 million coins mined so far. Please think twice what you are writing. Tongue

But yes, I would love to be incentivized too Smiley
1110  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] peatio.com the world's first 100 percent public owned bitcoin exchange on: April 03, 2015, 11:04:27 PM
Hello.

I'm setting up a Bitcoin Exchange in Finland powered by Peat.io

Help in internationalisation is appreciated.

In the future, we might spread to other countries through our own network.

We are a team of dedicated Bitcoin developers.

Partnership with Peat.io is welcomed.

Thank you

--Starwalker

Is it still functional ? peatio.com seems down to me.
1111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An exchange where balances are stored in users' wallets? on: April 03, 2015, 03:52:37 PM
The trade is carried on chain, like www.shapeshift.io is doing. They claim that Buy Coins Instantly No Account Needed.

Shapeshift.io is fine for bitcoin/altcoin trading. But, when u want to trade FIAT, u can not do it on chain. They are talking about bitUSD, but that actually require some central authorities to issue those bitUSD. I have read the whitepaper of bitsquare, openbazaar etc. None of the so called decentralized exchanges dealing with FIAT have actually been able to make the system completely trustless, because it is simply impossible to take a centralized token like FIAT working in a decentralized trustless system.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An exchange where balances are stored in users' wallets? on: April 03, 2015, 03:06:13 PM
It seems www.100bit.co.in is offering exactly this...

-snip-

Yeah I have never heard of that site and it looks sketchy, I wouldn't register there.

Sketchy ? Why ? 100bit.co.in is among the list of transparent exchanges. I have used it too. Volume is low as it is new. But their operating process is quite transparent. I like the feature that, unlike LocalBitcoins, we dont need to keep our coins deposited at the exchange.

Oh great, it really works now.

Animated gifs would be nice.

Is animated avatar like Bruno accepted now ?

1115  Other / Meta / Re: DDoS on: April 02, 2015, 07:00:27 PM
I thought it was just a joke, but when I read this thread I know that it wasn't a joke.
So, this is a serious problem for the site

Pretty much every substantial site is affected by it from time to time. You'll never stop it entirely.

Is Google prone to DDOS as well ? Has Google search ever been down due to DDOS ?
1116  Other / Meta / Re: DDoS on: April 02, 2015, 05:52:53 PM
Thanks for the update. Is it possible that DD4BTC is behind this attack ? Have you received any extortion message ? Lately this entity is extorting from various bitcoin sites and there is a bounty on this DDOS attacker.

Details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=845595.0

I suspect this service is also run by DD4BTC: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1000458.0
1117  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: CrazyPonzi.com - 140% Return | 140 Hour Duration | Daily Withdrawal on: April 02, 2015, 05:24:39 PM
i signed up here to tell that the site is not good anymore , it says here the owner is coding something new but as i know we don't need to stop the game to code new Huh

What are you talking about ? I played the last game and got paid. OP paid out everyone and then closed the game to code a new one. What's wrong with that ?
1118  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk down on: April 02, 2015, 04:15:39 PM
Bitcointalk was down for the last few hours.....
Hopefully, nothing to do with avatars being enabled again.  Grin

No. But I wonder whether DD4BTC is behind this attack. Lately this entity is extorting from various bitcoin sites and there is a bounty on this DDOS attacker.

1119  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How BW Pool chose DiscusFish block over AntPool ? on: April 02, 2015, 04:12:18 PM
29 seconds is your answer.

They've found it 6 seconds before BW but it reached too late; Arrival Time Wednesday, April 1st 2015, 23:52:39

I think this timestamp can be forged by the miner and hence it is not the deciding factor. Different nodes may receive the block notification at different times too...
1120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase Seeks 'Invasive' Details on US Bitcoin Mining Operations on: April 02, 2015, 11:40:33 AM
Simplest solution I see is stop using CoinBase and shift to direct trading exchanges like www.LocalBitcoins.com or www.100bit.co.in.

+1

The more regulations try to hinder normal businesses, the more people will shift to these direct trading exchanges.
