100 2009 addresses have all just signed the same message.

"Craig Steven Wright is a liar and a fraud. He doesn't have the keys used to sign this message.

The Lightning Network is a significant achievement. However, we need to continue work on improving on-chain capacity.

Unfortunately, the solution is not to just change a constant in the code or to allow powerful participants to force out others.

We are all Satoshi"

Does anyone know if any of these addresses are on his fanfic address list? I certainly hope so.

I did have bitcoin and cryptocurrencies on my CV under interests.

NEXT.

I have reduced it down now to Blockchain technologies.

Ooh. I remember the CEO saying he loved blockchain not Bitcoin in 2014.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi isn't that rich. on: May 25, 2020, 01:24:22 AM
Lol,  i can't agree more...

If a huge bag of bitcoin is released into the market, we will surely experience a huge downtrend, i don't know if I'm to believe that is due to the current bear market condition or bitcoin isn't having much liquidity as it seems.  It is a sure fact that if he decided to liquidate all his holding today,  he might just be able to realize something more than half the supposed worth of his holding which surely shows that he isn't as rich as he seems

If Satoshi had a head injury and decided it was time to dump only a flat out moron would sell a significant amount on an exchange. He would have OTC buyers chewing his arm off. There would never, ever, ever be another opportunity to buy in quantities that large again. Not a single coin would hit the open market.

The biggest danger to price would not be the selling, it would be the hit it took when coins moved from the handful of addresses linked to him.
1124  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets... on: May 24, 2020, 10:29:21 PM
even then, based on what I know. Wether its trezor or ledger, physical access on the drive is not enough in and of itself.

Yes it is.

https://blog.kraken.com/post/3662/kraken-identifies-critical-flaw-in-trezor-hardware-wallets/

https://www.ledger.com/chaos-communication-congress-in-response-to-wallet-fails-presentation/

However the chances of someone breaking in, finding it, knowing what it is and knowing how to get at it are on the astronomical side. And it's also neutralised by having a 25th password. But who knows whether new angles will be found?

For me online security is obviously the big one and so far they're fine.

The question is if I tap on export accounts in google authenticator then will that automatically include the backup recovery keys also or am I still required to enter the recovery key for each account when exporting accounts to new device?

It'll allow you to first choose which accounts you want to export and then it'll create a single QR code that the new phone will scan and set them all up there straight away. No need to do anything else. People have been squealing for it for years but Google like to take their time about these things.

I've been horribly slack with losing 2FA keys in the past so had to cancel all of mine and start again with the recoveries properly recorded this time around.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi isn't that rich. on: May 24, 2020, 09:24:10 PM
Like God damn it, he created this thing that made many, many people richer, revolutionized tech and saved lives in some 3rd world countries and you hope he never gets a buck out of his supposed fortune because it may drop your $50 wallet balance by half a buck. That's such a f'ed up way of thinking.

Agreed, BUT with his coin mountain and lingering mystery he has created something of a sword of damacles that he probably now regrets.

He had no choice, someone had to mine and I'm sure he would've been delighted if the network had been swamped with miners from minute one, but I would've indicated some intention for such a large portion of supply before disappearing.

It was his right not to of course but it also unsettles the principles of his system a little for one entity to own that much.

The idea of him dumping on Yobit or handing everything over to Jamie Dimon is laughable. I fully expect no identifiable coin of his will ever move.

But if I were another early miner I would have moved and stirred my coins as soon as it became clear that the train had left the station. The intense scrutiny of the coins I was about to blow on a Lego Millennium Falcon as a reward for my patience would give me an ulcer.

How about your dark core score?
https://getpocket.com/explore/item/the-dark-core-of-personality

The actual test is here:
http://qst.darkfactor.org

Not predicting anything for WO, but I am slightly on the dark side (took a shorter variant), lol.

I am a creature of the light and am only 18% dark, but according to that I have extreme psychological entitlement so since my time has been used up on this fucking PAY ME.
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to answer when asked "Can I make money mining bitcoin?" on: May 24, 2020, 08:54:39 PM
Many people make money mining bitcoin and it's even possible to mine using your own solar power but this is an extreme long term investment.

I'm pretty sure 90% or more of first time askers have no expectations of having to lay out for dedicated equipment or having to balance profit vs outlay. They're probably expecting to fire up that Chromebook and watch those bitcoins pour in.
1129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 24, 2020, 07:52:56 PM
Allright, thats new to me.

Are you, um, feeling OK?

1130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Shabby introductory post won't help on: May 24, 2020, 07:23:10 PM
First impressions matters so before making that first post read, think and understand.

I fully expect every new arrival to think they're going to immediately make a packet with their google translate dribbling. If they keep that attitude then fine, they ain't getting anywhere. If they eventually realise they're heading towards a total dead end they might start to knuckle down and become useful and productive.

I'll bet many a long established poster here would shudder at reviewing their comportment when they first arrived here. I've seen plenty of esteemed people admit that they were absolute shitposters when they arrived and it took them quite some time to turn that around and make the effort to be worthwhile.

We'll see that play out in public and perhaps others will learn from it. It would be good to have a reformed shitposter thread. I think I've seen a few.
1131  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Okay. Charge tax on bitcoin. Is this fair policy? on: May 24, 2020, 06:56:24 PM
They are charging tax means they are making bitcoin legal.

Hmm. Not sure.

There are many things that are not illegal but aren't worth bothering declaring legal either, or it's so obvious there's no need to make a declaration about it, or so obscure they can't be bothered.

There are many countries where Bitcoin is taxable but they've never made any announcement about whether it's legal or not so I guess we're expected to treat it as legal unless told otherwise. In their eyes it's just another vehicle for making profit in the currency they tax you in and all profit is taxable.
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So it looks like Cobra is planning on passing on the Bitcoin.org domain on: May 24, 2020, 03:55:44 PM
I don't have time to contribute. Are you suggesting unless one contributes one isn't allowed to discuss or criticize the current approach? When I tell organisations what the roadmap looks like for the code I'm writing them, they make decisions based around that, and if my shit was still unusable 5 years later I would be broke and they would be pissed.

I have zero doubt that the people working on it are doing their best and if they could have delivered something perfect and shiny they would absolutely loved to have done so by now.

If they're 'fired' then I can't see who or what else is going to appear out of nowhere and magic up what they haven't yet pulled off. I can guess we'll be kindly offered our own Paypal by the usual suspects but we could've had one of those years ago.

No one knows where this is going to end up or how it'll resolve or whether it'll resolve.
1133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So it looks like Cobra is planning on passing on the Bitcoin.org domain on: May 24, 2020, 02:44:48 PM
Some kind of layer two solution is needed, but it's taking a lot fucking longer than expected, so maybe a reevaluation is in order?

Then contribute? It doesn't get built on its own.

I've yet to see much that's convinced me that LNs are anything other than an interesting curio but I no doubt would've thought the same of the internet had I been introduced to it in its nascent stages.
1134  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets... on: May 24, 2020, 02:16:20 PM
I have a Trezor 1 and a Ledger Nano S.

The Ledger has been abandoned. There's something about the way they operate I dislike. In this game you should be humble and open and they certainly are not. Trezor's attitude is better and more communicative so they're the ones I stick with.

I am starting to wonder about the future of hardware wallets, more holes are found every day, but since all current ones need physical access to exploit I'm not going to sweat it until that changes.

1136  Economy / Reputation / Re: “Join Roger Ver @ Bitcoin.com for non-cencored bitcoin discussions” on: May 23, 2020, 10:48:30 PM
I know that it may look like it's their own little space but looking at the stats where they have 297k+ readers and as of right now they have 2,188 online reading the subreddit it is a large group compared to BCT where as of right now we have 312 members online.

There was a change in how Reddit measures online presence a while back. I seem to remember it going up 10-15x overnight when they implemented it in the places I frequent, not that it really matters.

I think we'd be surprised how many never show their face here. It feels like the centre of the universe to its regulars but I've seen many people state elsewhere they've never visited.
1137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODLing is great but why not use Options to insure what you are HODLing? on: May 23, 2020, 08:41:54 PM
I had a fiddle with options on stock markets. I knew nothing but bought a load anyway and doubled my money. Nice. Never did it again.

Unlike normal leverage, options might be something I'd consider for BTC if I fancied some price speculation, but for many it's all about the platform and there's nothing of note offering them yet.
1138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So it looks like Cobra is planning on passing on the Bitcoin.org domain on: May 23, 2020, 07:31:21 PM
agree, give it back...

Who took it off you? Name names so they can reported to the authorities. This will not stand.

Once they're in jail 'give it back' to whom?

Errr, this guy?

This hunk of burning love?

Fuck it, let's get some referrals going. Why turn down money waiting to be made? Let's fuckin' party.

There's more than 8.  For obvious reasons not everyone you ask will tell you they have one.  If that was the way you deduced mintage and the $ amount people are willing to sell for than you would think only 3 or 4 casascius loaded 25btc coins exist.  Not a lot of people are going to rush to tell a stranger they own something like that if you know what I mean  Smiley

Plenty must have been sold by the newspaper reselling sites from 2010/11 onwards who must've been wondering why that particular day was flying out the door.

And I'm sure there are a few retained by people for personal or sentimental reasons who have zero idea of what it can fetch. It'll be one of those things that'll be unthinkingly thrown out along with everything else when they croak.
1140  Economy / Economics / Re: Continuous Printing Of Money Out Of Thin Air Has Never Being The Answer on: May 23, 2020, 03:11:55 PM
Do you think 21 million bitcoins can supply more than 8 billion people worldwide?

Um, yes? Ever heard of divisibility? Ever heard of layers on top?. Bitcoin is not static. Its future is not set in stone. The potential is there for it to become whatever people decide they need it to be
