I can sell one for 130 usd if you use PayPal

Careful selling with PayPal, OP only registered yesterday.  You could easily be scammed out of 1 btc.
1142  Other / Meta / Re: Better PM system is needed! on: April 23, 2013, 12:09:49 PM
E-mail is a not an option, I visit this site more often than my e-mail which I do about once per day, or even longer.
You (usually) can receive emails as text messages. The address is typically some variation of <number>@txt.<carrier>.com. You can either look it up, or just send yourself an email from your phone (if you can receive messages, you can send them, too, just type in the email address instead of a phone number) to find the exact address.

You wouldn't want this for forum emails though, unless they were restructured, as they would come through in a very large number of texts.

Damn OP deleting the OP... looks like a missed a good one from the replies.

@myrkul

Huge fan of that image, surprised I've never seen it before.
1144  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Favorite Alt Coin and Why? on: April 23, 2013, 02:31:20 AM
I'm trying to avoid Litecoin since I know the difficulty is going way up due to the amount of ASIC's in existence so I've been mining Feathercoin for about 24hours and since the difficulty of that just doubled, I'm getting about 60 a day.

AFAIK there are no ASICs for LTC because of scrypt, it's more about memory and just straight calculations.
1145  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Looking for Help with Multiple Graphics Card Setup in Xubuntu 12.10 for Bitcoin on: April 22, 2013, 11:35:01 PM
Do you have the same / similar issue?  What graphics cards are you running on your 12.10 Xubuntu?

I only have one card, a 7870 I think, but am not really trying to mine right now.  I'm in a similar situation to you, just switched over to Ubuntu 12.10 after a bad sector on my HD killed the windows install.  Tried a little to get it working, but the card never got detected by cgminer.
1146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CAPTCHA to mitigate DDoS attack? on: April 22, 2013, 11:32:22 PM
lolz...

the easiest and cheapest way to mitigate DDOS as of today is use...

CLOUDFLARE

For static content (I believe)

Good try OP, but no referral link spam.
1148  Other / Meta / Re: Rating System for forum users. on: April 22, 2013, 08:28:29 PM
For example: john the dog (a moderator) sucks.  Most people seem to like him, but he is pretty much the reason I quit logging in everyday.  I would love to be able to vote him down in a way besides just ignoring him and then blanking out what he says.

One person made you lose interest in the forums?  I'd like to hear that story.
1149  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Looking for Help with Multiple Graphics Card Setup in Xubuntu 12.10 for Bitcoin on: April 22, 2013, 08:13:32 PM
Did a little editing on your OP (throwing in code tags to make it easier to read).  I think the logs were too long, because text was being truncated near the end.

Also going to whitelist OP and move this topic, it's less likely to be answered in the newbie section... plus I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 too and am curious.
1150  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Building a rig? on: April 22, 2013, 06:45:25 PM
Building a GPU rig for mining bitcoin is a waste of money now.  You will want to make sure you have card(s) that can mine alt cryptos as well.

Bitcoin difficulty is going to jump a lot in the near future.
1151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CAPTCHA to mitigate DDoS attack? on: April 22, 2013, 06:39:42 PM
what if the attacker just floods the server with random packets? there's no captcha for packets, and even if you're dropping them with a firewall, your link is still being saturated.

So you mean they're just DDoS'ing the server?
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CAPTCHA to mitigate DDoS attack? on: April 22, 2013, 06:01:58 PM
Think about OSI model.

How does a model have anything to do with http access to system resources?

Because it's getting clogged up on the network layer.
1153  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why can't there be 10 companies who build ASIC miners? on: April 22, 2013, 05:34:38 PM
Because it's not cheap to design and build an ASIC.
1154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The worst thing that can happen, what is it? (Mining company) on: April 22, 2013, 05:28:07 PM
Here's why it's a bad idea:

You have no idea when BFL will actually deliver, or if they ever will.
1155  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible DDoS planned for today Starting at 15:30 UTC on: April 22, 2013, 12:30:37 PM
Wasn't it determined that the previous stuff like this was a hoax?
1156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need to buy 45.00 worth btc or sealswithclubs chips. Anyone? on: April 21, 2013, 06:27:16 PM
Always be careful when taking PayPal for bitcoins, transactions can be reverse.

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=164254.0 for a more detailed explanation.
1157  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Expert on: April 21, 2013, 06:24:41 PM
What?
1158  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ban useless replies on: April 21, 2013, 06:05:16 PM
Ever heard of rhetorical questions? Any different answer then "yes" would have been a lie so sorry when I didnt give you the opportunity to write an essay summarizing yourself, the bitcoin community, dragging this whole thing ad absurdum and twisting everything like you always do.

I give this post max 5 min, till one of your moderator buddys jump in and delete all my posts (again).

You're the one derailing the topic, so your posts should really be moved to a new topic.
1159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: buy forum account - get out of newbie jail fast! on: April 21, 2013, 06:02:24 PM
mostly because its against the terms of use for the forum (why do you think they have the rules) and nice to see only 2 people fall for it https://blockchain.info/address/1ZZzzCyNAL9YaKBEBDaecyMy83VKSnpBr

Selling accounts is fine, but I'd be careful with any site selling them.  It could easily be a scam.
1160  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] ASIC Avalon Batch 3 Pre-order on: April 21, 2013, 12:33:55 PM
Extremely flawed condition: "If Avalon fails to deliver by 2013/09/15 (3 month and a half after original shipping date, escrow will release the bitcoins to me"

That's a super shady condition on the auction, but unlikely to happen with Avalon (I think).

@OP
How will you do escrow?  The first post says "of your choice", but you don't specify much more than that.  With the amount of money that Avalons are going for, it needs to be a trusted source.
