121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tracking inside of CEXs on: April 18, 2024, 05:13:56 PM
One of my hobbies is to track wallets . I sit for hours and find good ones but I always end up in a cex address and can not see what happens inside of the cex anymore
That is such a weird hobby, are you auditioning for blockchain analysis companies. If you want information like that, then you have to contact the centralized exchange, what happens in their platform is off-chain and you cannot track it because it isn't on the blockchain.

To continue enjoying your hobby, stick to on-chain data, even though i don't know what you stand to gain by tracking addresses and where their inputs move to, what are you looking for?
122  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country proposed the establishment of BRICS? on: April 18, 2024, 03:50:48 PM
I mean among the four countries, which one among them brought up the offer. Which I guessed to either be China or Russia.
No, this was not how BRICS was formed, it was neither China or Russia that came up with the idea, they weren't even the ones that came up with that acronym. From what i could garner online, it was Jim O'Neill, a Goldman Sachs economist that came up with the acronym BRIC, he used it to recognize four countries with very fast growing economies that (according to him), could rival the economic powerhouses like the U.S and others from the West.

These four countries found the idea interesting and decided to make a group from it, South Africa later joined them and it became BRICS.
123  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Person wey get money no fit spray the money again? on: April 17, 2024, 04:19:20 PM
As part of our fundamental human right I believe person wey own property or wealth fit use am the way e want because man get liberty to do anything as long as the thing no go worry another person negatively. I come Dy wonder why EFCC come Dy attack people way they use their money the way dem want.
Naira mutilation is an offence in Nigeria, i know say for a very long time dem don dey overlook am, but right now government wan create the awareness say e get as you go use the Nigerian Naira wey e go be offence. Things such as spraying, hawking, squeezing, writing on the notes, etc, na offence and the punishment be say the offender go spend 6 months in jail or the option of N50k. So this matter no be violation of human rights, Naira mutilation na offence, but plenty people no know before, but now dem know.
124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would You Recommend Investing Binance Pays 9.70% Interest on USDC on: April 17, 2024, 04:10:33 PM
I've recently been scammed out of my money investing in Atomic Wallet so I'm skeptical about investing.
Atomic wallet is a closed source wallet, there are good wallets which are open source and you can use it to hodl your coins. What you are doing is a very bad idea, staking your coins in a centralized exchange, first, you risk your money hodling it in a stablecoin and secondly, you risk your money hodling it in an exchange, because no keys, no coins. If i were you i would use that money to buy Bitcoin and move it into a hardware wallet, but i am not you, so do as you please.
125  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country proposed the establishment of BRICS? on: April 17, 2024, 02:02:05 PM
Chinese Yuan recently become the most traded currency in Russia.
This is because of the sanctions imposed on Russia by the U.S. and many other countries, now they have stepped up their relationship with China and other allies and they now mostly use the Chinese Yuan for trading and foreign activities, all as part of their dedollarization campaign.
BRICS is nothing more than China wants to dominate the economy.
Maybe or maybe not, there is no doubt that amongst the countries in the group, China is the one with the healthiest economy. That being said, the Yuan isn't going to automatically usurp the dollar as the world's reserve currency because they have formed allies with Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa, when most of these countries still use the U.S dollar for trading and as their reserve currency.
126  Other / Meta / Re: Why seeing merit button on my post when I can not merit my own post on: April 17, 2024, 12:38:40 PM
You are correct that it shouldn't be there, but the admin is very reluctant to make changes (even when it is necessary), meaning they would never spend time implementing something that isn't actually a problem.

If a suggestion does not solve a particular problem, i don't think the admin would even think about implementing it, the merit button beside your own posts is not a problem, as long as you can't merit yourself and you get an error when you try it.
127  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Advice for a young millionaire on: April 17, 2024, 12:22:34 PM
It is easier to give financial advise when you are not the one in possession of the money, or the one who needs to apply the restraint. If your story is true, i don't know; but i think you can get financial advice from reading finance books, there are so many of them and they will help you understand how money works and how you can make it work for you.

Though in the meantime, i would tell you to go on with your life like nothing happened or changed, if you were schooling, continue, chase your career and don't change the status quo. If you are able to do that, you'll maintain and grow wealth.
128  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: E no resemble local board. on: April 16, 2024, 06:44:01 PM
Personally I reason say writing in pidgin English, for make dis our local board to de very unique and wen oda nationals visit di board, dem go get di flow say truly na dis style of English de popular for naija, infact you go surprise say more people go de visit our board to de feel our flows.
Wetin make you think so, IMO, the local board dey very unique as e dey now, and we no need approval from non-Nigerians. I no know if you read my last posts in this topic, i linked the Indian local board and you can see that na mostly English wey dem dey use for their own board. As regards this argument, i even think it is when we mostly use English language to communicate that non-Nigerians will be able to inderstand what we say in our local board, but that is nothing of priority and it does not matter.
129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fulfilling dreams with agriculture! on: April 16, 2024, 05:16:00 PM
Please don't misunderstand. I said there is money to be invested but it was not possible to invest. The dream did not come true, the feedback of which helped me to be more diligent. Hope you understand my problem!
Okay, you somehow didn't invest then, even if you had the money, and now you want to sell agricultural produce and use the profit to buy Bitcoin, i don't know if what you are saying is the truth and i honestly do not care.
If I deposit $100 or $120 worth of bitcoins per month from here, how much will it benefit me? Is it right for me to invest more $ in Bitcoin than this? And should I invest the whole money in Bitcoin?
Nobody can tell you how much you would make in ROI, we do not even know for how long you intend to hodl your coins. Bitcoin price is volatile and unpredictable, so there is no way you can talk about ROI from the beginning. You are going to decide by yourself the amount of money you should invest in Bitcoin, but i can advise that you buy using the DCA strategy.
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit all about? on: April 16, 2024, 03:33:24 PM
If you are interested in the system with so much zeal and passion to learn and gain knowledge about it, I believe you don't need to be looking for Merits right after joining the forum, you don't even need to know about it if you are here to learn and grow.
I know it has become cliché for us to tell newbies not to worry about merits, but i think if a user who is truly a newbie joins the forum, it is normal for them to ask what merits really mean, though they can use the search button to find out for themselves.

The purpose of merits is to encourage quality posts and to stop shitposters from ranking up, thus i don't think it is bad for newbies to inquire about merits, it can act as something that motivates them to make quality posts and contribute constructively. Yes, it could also negatively affect those who chase after it excessively, but for many it could become a positive motivation and work in their favor.
131  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and global tensions! on: April 16, 2024, 02:25:32 PM
There are quite a lot of weak hands in the Bitcoin commuinity, and they make up the numbers of those who don't believe or trust Bitcoin, thus as long as we have so many people like this, Bitcoin price will always fall during a global tension. As soon as there is problem in any part of the world that garners attention, they will dump their coins, spread FUD about it and others will dump their coins too.

That being said, the situation is going to keep getting better until we have very less of such people in the network, but it is going to take quite a long time, but i believe a time will come when Bitcoin is stronger and very much resistant to FUD, global tensions and other whatnots.
132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit all about? on: April 16, 2024, 02:00:56 PM
I will also want to ask if there are future plans to change the merit system. I understand that the actual merits are not sendable to others and only the sMerits can be sent. I'm curious to know if for instance, I can also gift out of my actual merit to a user.
The merit system is working well the way it is designed, it might not be perfect, but there is nothing that needs to be changed about it (right now). You cannot send out your "merits" to other users and the admin is not going to waste their time implementing such a thing, because rarely will anybody use it, you can only send Smerits to others.
I also wanted to ask if there are threads where we can decide to submit our posts for a review for merits gifting, when we create quality posts that are worthy of meriting.
Yes:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5093271.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5412657.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5426440.0
Lastly, how can I know which of the posts to submit that are worthy of receiving merits, what are the indices of measuring a quality post in the forum?
There is nothing set in stone about that, quality posts could even be subjective sometimes. That being said, if you grow your knowledge and you are genuinely contributing to discussions, helping other users out and not spamming, then you stand a chance to earn merits in the forum.
133  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest on your dependants if you too must grow further on: April 14, 2024, 03:44:57 PM
If you have financial knowledge/intelligence, you can try to teach people who are dear to you, suggest finance books to them and support them financially in the little way you can. But i don't think you should "invest" in them, if you take up too many responsibilities, you might run the risk of going broke yourself, i always advise people to live for themselves and help people only in a way that would not affect you financially.
134  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: EFCC to arrest businesses that accept payment in dollar. on: April 14, 2024, 03:12:53 PM
I think the reason for the request is for investigations, but the question now be say wether binance as a top and leading cryptocurrency exchange globally will hand over their clients data to the government.
Binance no go give dem that information, this matter don spread and Binance know say plenty of their customers all over the world dey watch wetin go happen, if Binance gives the government that information, so many of their customers go lose trust in them and they could lose many of them. Binance will only give them details of a customer if dem get enough evidence to prove say that customer na criminal wey dey into money laundering or terrorism financing, but they never get proof of anything.
135  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not forget your Bitcointalk account password!!! on: April 13, 2024, 08:50:27 PM
Passwords should be given using words that are always remembered. If more than one password is used for multiple accounts, there is a possibility of forgetting the password, so a user should always use a specific password for all accounts. If users use certain passwords for all accounts, chances of them being forgotten will be very low.
Terrible advice to say the least, your password should be strong and difficult to brute force/guess, not simple and easy to remember. Don't use the same password acrosss multiple accounts, if someone finds out what your password is, they would be able to get access to all your accounts. Always use unique and strong passwords, you don't have to remember them, use a password manager or write down your passwords.
136  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: EFCC to arrest businesses that accept payment in dollar. on: April 13, 2024, 08:09:39 PM
Do you think the EFCC can stop all those companies not to pay some of their workers in foreign currency?
Na only foreign companies dey pay their workers in U.S Dollars, if it is a Nigerian company, they pay only their foreign staffs in dollars, and so the EFCC has nothing against these companies paying their staffs in U.S dollars, they are against local businesses accepting hard currencies from local customers.

"The Federal Nigerian Civil Service" does not pay their workers in U.S dollars, even the link you posted talk am say dem no dey sure about that one, dey are completely wrong, civil servants in Naija dey collect their salaries in Naira.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bull Run - Gambling - New Coins on: April 13, 2024, 06:52:55 PM
Do you buy, for example, 10 random coins for 100$ each, or do you wait for something interesting and invest heavily?  Huh

I don't do any of the above, new coins/projects are very risky and is basically you gambling with your money. That being said, if i were to give an advice, i'd say it is foolish to invest heavily into one new coin/project, i think it is "safer" to spread that money into different altcoins and see which one you get lucky on. These coins do not have any utility and are basically pump and dump coins, so i think the chances of ROI is higher if you buy a few of them, than when you spend all the money on one.
138  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: E no resemble local board. on: April 13, 2024, 06:24:22 PM
My brother, that thing you talk na the truth. If to say na English all of us dey knack here, no local board for us...
That one no be true, did you see the Indian local board wey i link for my last post in this topic, so many of the topics and posts there is in English language and i no sure say anybody dey complain there. Even if most of the posts here is in English, there is gonna be no problem with that, English na our official language in Naija and we dey only use pidgin for mostly unofficial purposes for Naija, so using English language in this board does not negate the fact that it is a local board.
139  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: April 12, 2024, 10:15:19 PM
Trading is nobody's exclusive right, everyone is free to do whatsoever they want to do, if you want to trade, go ahead, if you want to buy and hodl, be my guest.

That being said, we must advise newbies not to trade from the beginning of their crypto journey, and that is because at that time they do not have the skill or knowledge to trade, and since they are new, if they lose money, they are likely to leave the network and call it a scam. Newcomers should learn about the network first, before they start "gambling" with their money through trading.
140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not forget your Bitcointalk account password!!! on: April 12, 2024, 08:27:11 PM
When you are using the internet you need to have three or four Strong passwords and if you registering any important site, you use any of the password and when you forget the password at any occasion, you tried the three passwords and definitely one must open if really you use any of them. There are three important websites passwords one need not to forget the matter what.
There should not be a limit to the number of passwords one should have, because as long as you are on the internet, you are going to have accounts across different platforms and websites. Remember that you ought to use a unique password all the time and should never reuse passwords, that is why you should either write your passwords down on paper or you use a password manager to keep all your passwords.
Quote
Always use a familiar password so that you won't forget.
Passwords should be strong and difficult to brute force and not simple or easy to remember.
