121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 15, 2023, 09:06:05 PM
Playing something even if it's not gambling during work hours is definitely the best possible way to lose a job FAST. I don't really know why you get to ask these very weird questions. I mean, why would anyone in their sane mind will decide to just randomly gamble at their workplace? What difference will it make when you gamble at home? If you have a poor work ethic, quit the job and do something else that would make you money, then gamble to your heart's content.
Exactly. No one on the right mind would spend money on gambling while working. Treasuring your job is a must, it is the employee's responsibility to provide output and perform a job well done every single day, focusing and completing your task at work must be the priority without doing anything especially gambling. We work to earn money, burning that money in gambling is a waste of time and effort.

Gambling while at work will not give a good outcome. Aside from feeling agitated as you have some tasks to keep in mind, it can lead to losing your focus and probably not gonna perform well.
I'm sorry if I'm not in my right mind Grin

I do online gambling while at work however I made sure to now affect my record or my productivity while working.  There are times where you'll have a lot of free time at work to do other things and online gambling is my choice to use those free time. However, critical situations like urgent matter that needs my full attention, then I focus on work. But still, gambling while at work isn't recommended and might cause you to lose your job especially that most companies are strict with gambling in general.

123  Local / Pilipinas / Re: PhilHealth under siege: US$300,000 ransom set by Medusa ransomware group on: October 15, 2023, 06:42:33 PM
....
PH government websites/data is under cyber attacks. Masyado kase nilang minamaliit kakayahan ng IT dept nila. Puro news na we are advancing in modern technology etc, etc. yet mga shitty security ng mga websites nila. Sana nga after these incidents dagdagan nila budget for cybersecurity ng any government sites, servers, etc. at all over improve IT infras dito satin, at lastly maging responsible sila pag may ganyang incident na nangyari, hindi yung kakalimutan nalang na walang may na pa-punish na kauukulan.

126  Local / Pamilihan / Re: https://scamba.ph/ on: October 14, 2023, 09:48:43 PM

127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 14, 2023, 08:50:25 PM
Quitting is always an option if you're not gaining, getting or even if it's affecting your life or your financial stability. But if it isn't affecting your life much and don't want to quit gambling, then you can just let that one game go that is only providing losses.

However, on my experience, as I really want to play dice much even after losing multiple times, I just try to change platform as most gambling platform offer dice games and stick on platform that I feel more lucky. Right now, my best three dice platforms are Primedice, Just-dice and recently with Coinroyale (did not expect to be lucky on this one).
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 14, 2023, 03:58:25 PM
She treats gambling as a source of income and for sure that bet is that she has already planned out what she will do with her winnings as she is really sure that she will win but the luck doesn't goes her way. I've seen multiple people that are crying on social media but not to the point that they are showing their faces as they got lost in sports betting. Even though you bet on a stronger team it doesn't mean that always that stronger team will win as there are times when there are injured players or their play is not as great as before.
Smile!! Gambling is not something you hope upon because the disappointment that follows is very high. But whereby you removed you mind and play the game and go home without thinking of it then that is when you win games bey when you put the games in your mind and thinking to win big then failure is the name. The woman put her mind and soul in the bet but the slip disappointed her so she could not controlled herself and burst into cry. And things like this some would laugh at her and some would have the sympathy with her.
It's really hard to sympathize with her as she posted her own reaction especially crying with what she did and her wrong decision. It's literally a common situation on sports betting whereas there are some matchup that may look like a one sided game but the latter team win and I guess most of us who do sportsbet already experience it.

She could've posted her experience and not her literal reaction as it only shows how much she just wanted some attention to her wrong decision making.
129  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mag update ng latest 3.3.5 Electrum on: October 14, 2023, 02:10:37 PM

130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 13, 2023, 11:35:19 PM
This is like every lottery players dream of winning or being one of the jackpot winners. These situations are extremely lucky and only a few people have ever won them. Personally, me and some of my relatives have been trying our luck with lottery as well on my country and the most that we've got are 3-4 matches out of the 7 numbers.

Hopefully, she will continue with her humble life and not be overwhelmed by her winnings especially that they've chosen the safe way to cash their winnings and not with lump sum. Usually, people who won lottery jackpot either gets broke or gets richer with how they managed their winnings.
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My dice strategy for quick 1.5x on: October 13, 2023, 09:22:58 PM
Actually, he can't play for three consecutive rounds increasing 300% on each loss.

100$ is the total bankroll.

5$ is base bet.

After first loss, he bets 5$ + 300% = 20$

Then loses again, so he has to bet 20$ + 300% = 80$ for the third round, however it's impossible, because his bankroll is already at 75$.

And even if he did and won, 75$ would return him 90$ (1,2x). It's still a losing method.

I believe one of the main issues here is the fact base bet is too high! 5% of bankroll on every bet is waste of money... Base bet should stay around 0,1%-1% of the bankroll.
Dice strategy debunked  Grin

I do love dice games and I a hundred percent agree with this. A fraction of your bet could lead to a short gambling session. Also, I even did a much smaller multiplier than this one with around 10-20% of my bankroll and I only have a quick 5-10 minutes session until all of my bankroll have been burned. This just strategy just gives the OP false hope knowing that it works for a few times until he'll realize that it'll barely work.
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 13, 2023, 08:56:40 PM
How can those who are unemployed afford it? How about the college student? Or the person receiving minimum wage. What are the other low cost but very effective solutions to gambling addiction. And typically how long will it take before the addict starts to feel more in control and less withdrawal symptoms?
Will totally appreciate your responses. Thanks.
I'm not really sure why these people should even be gambling if they have no source of income especially for unemployed or students. They shouldn't be gambling in the first place.

Anyways, for those who are employed, usually there free therapy sessions that are provided by the company that you can use to assist you with your addiction. But for unemployed, it's best to start it with your own if you don't have any means to reach out for some help from a therapist by just trying to avoid gambling or even finding other hobby to take your time or be busy about. Also, you can try interacting or socialize with other people or even find a job or work to focus on. As for students, just focus on your study, I don't think that you'll be thinking gambling anytime soon if you're already stress with your academics.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 13, 2023, 04:25:28 PM
I'd like to share my experience with you all. Even though I'm not currently employed, I went through a phase of gambling while I was working in the past, and the outcome wasn't positive. It affected my job performance because, as you may know, when you lose, you tend to dwell on your losses and constantly think about strategies to win. When we talk about work, it usually means we're not particularly wealthy, and imagine what happens when we gamble money we can't afford to lose, especially when we're not earning much.

Let me tell you, the feeling is far from pleasant. It leads to a decline in your work performance, which can have significant consequences since that's your primary source of income. It might be manageable if you're winning, but the harsh reality is often quite the opposite. Even when we do win, we tend to spend most of our winnings, so we don't treat it as business money. This leaves us in a precarious situation when we lose because the money we initially budgeted for our families gets diverted to cover unexpected gambling-related expenses.

I'd like to hear from those of you who have experienced this or are still dealing with it. Please share your testimonies.
Im sorry to hear that but I do think that you should manage how you gamble as it's affecting you as an individual. I'm not particularly rich, I'm actually on a below mid income on my country which compared to other country is too low, but I always manage or handle my gambling session better than this.
I also do online gambling when at work like doing dice and slots when there's free time and sportbet when there's a major sport or gambling opportunity arise and it tends to be more fun as some of my colleagues are also interested to bet on it. Whether we lose or win, it actually is fun as long as you don't bet or gamble what you can afford to lose.  Also, having someone to share your loses or wins are much more fun than doing alone.
Still, nobody should be gambling while at work, not only is it mostly not allowed by most company or HR which might jeopardize your job, it may also take away your focus from your work.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a strategy to lose on: October 12, 2023, 07:00:54 PM
In fact, everything depends on luck, and when it's come to gambling is not supposed to depend on anything other than luck.
If we think about things in the way that OP has explained, then in any sector you go, first you need to get knowledge or experience about that sector, only then you can adapt yourself to that sector. That can be investing in our Bitcoin or joining this forum or trading and including gambling. First you have to understand the environment and then you have to invest, otherwise it always depend on luck and if you invest without understanding then you will definitely lose. I will say the same thing about gambling, experience and knowledge must be there, but if you want to gamble, you must know where you are investing, whether it is safe or not. But in the end it all comes down to one thing, no matter how much experience you have in gambling, it always depends on luck.
Having basic knowledge to every game on gambling is enough for you to join or start the game and gamble as just you've luck is the main factor or essence needed in gambling. However, there are instanses that strategy, observation, knowledge and wittiness are required to win your game such as Poker. On Poker, you might have a good card but you may still be afraid to face someone with a bad card due to his bluffing. The same goes for sports betting, you can't just go blind betting on a team especially just because your favorite player is there, rather you must assess which team is most likely to win the current lineup of players they have.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: October 12, 2023, 04:39:56 PM
I haven't seen anyone doing financing in gambling but I have noticed mostly in cockfighting in my local area that they will ask someone to give them money so that they can bet and if they win, the money will be back and then the profit will be cut by 2 for them, but this is not just a random person because mostly I noticed that they are friends or relatives but it is something that they are giving money or financing someone to bet but if the bet was a loss then the owner of the money lost it so it is all about trust and luck.
It's actually pretty common on our country that if your friends are into cockfighting and has their own chicken that they've personally breed to ask someone they know for funds on their fights or even ask for a loan. In my experience, I did try to fund for my uncle for his fight and we won and we've split the profit on our winnings and celebrated by cooking the losing chicken.

Anyways, this varies depending on who's your funding and on what you're funding on. You must also know the risk of these thing if you'd like to do it. I do see some poker players who do this on a casino and there are even instances someone will approach them to give more funds so that they'll be able to bet more.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 12, 2023, 01:24:24 PM
Making gambling a full time job might be seen as risky but I still feel one can make gambling full time job and a career.

What do you all think?
It is risky as it is.

But like gambling itself there are gamblers that have found their lives well through it despite the risky scenario of this career. We may like it or not, in real life scenarios it's truly happening.

Thus, you just don't make money from being a gambler as you can see a lot of promotions happening in most social medias these days.
There really are some gamblers out there who do gambling as their main income and I personally know some of them. They said that they feel like gambling is the most suited thing for them as they know the risk it has and can feel it which is how they managed minimizing their loses.

Most of the are card game or poker players and they have multiple strategy and observation pattern that they've discovered from their experience playing.

But still, there are some who did not come back gambling after having a massive loss being a full time gambler.

139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 11, 2023, 08:42:00 PM
Gambling is mainly about high risk, high reward platform where you can easily double your money or even more is just short span  time or with a just click depending on how you're gambling. However, there's also some ways to minimize loss especially with a large bankroll such as some strategy like martingale.

Personally, I gamble with minimal funds to make sure that I avoid losing much but there are some instances I've gambled significant amount but I try to minimize my chance of losing the entire funds but still there really are uncontrollably circumstances where you're just too unlucky and will it all.

In your opinion, what should we do if we have lost a lot of money on gambling? Do we keep gambling to win so we can cover up previous losses? or stop and work normally and leave gambling? Or do you have other suggestions?
Nothing, if you already lose your money. Just accept the fact that you lost and try to see if you'll be lucky on your next gambling session but never go overboard or chasing losses if you keep on losing. If you're irresponsible that you've bet what you cannot afford, then yes, consider quitting as an option as well.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 11, 2023, 07:36:05 PM
Basing from your story from what you've overheard, I can speculate multiple reasons as to why that friend have avoided them after winning a huge amount.

Firstly, I think it might be a common case of people showing their true selves after having money whereas they cut off people who think aren't their league anymore but it might not be the case without knowing the full story. It might also be that he already know those two and what will happen if he won big such as them asking for some money just because they are his friend or it might just be that their bad friends. Another scenario, I can think of is that they are just his "Gambling" friends and after him winning million, he already quit gambling which is also the reason why he's not in contact with them anymore.
