1201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 03:48:18 PM
Many times we are in a situation and we do not not realize the intensity of the problem. One such case is compulsive gambling. In simple words, it means that you are unable to control the urge to get involved with gambling even after understanding the potential harms associated with it.

Here are some signs of compulsive gambling :

1) Gambling related thoughts are always in your mind even when you are working on other activities

2) You keep increasing the gambling related money with each game

3) You try to gamble more in attempt to recover loss

4) Ignoring other important work like job just for gambling

Would you like to add to these signs ? Have you ever found yourself trapped in this situation and how did you get rid of this ?
Self-denial. Living in denial of a gambling addiction is an early sign. A gambler who knows that they have lost more money than they can ever think of to gambling and would keep on returning to the casino while telling themselves that it is because of a wrong strategy and not because they are addicted.
These people will turn to other people's money when they are broke to gamble. They would lie for it, steal for it just to satisfy that urge. Yet, they will go on denying that it is not because they are addicted but because of their love for the whatever game they are playing or the potential to hit it big.

I see that the OP has a progressive uncle. Here is my simple counsel to you, while you are with him, teach him how to wager using crypto particularly bitcoin which I believe will be the easiest to understand.
I want to believe that your uncle also has friend of his age-group with similar interest and curiosity. You should teach them too. Lastly, have a feature of a link that teaches gamblers how to use crypto to wager in their website is competitive advantage for online casinos. If you check the blogs of this crypto casinos, they usually provide a guide on it. You should check it out.
1203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 09:33:22 PM
This post has brought back memories from my past and my entire history as a gambler. I flash back the one time I used money budgeted for something else to gamble thinking I could double it because I was going through a rough patch in life and needed money terribly.
After that incident, I had a deep personal reflection. I knew tot wasn't who I was and almost came to the conclusion to stop gambling but I enjoy it so much and it make me unhappy quitting. So, instead I decided to become intentional and disciplined about it. It's one of the best decision I have ever made.
1204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 07, 2023, 06:03:14 AM
I think, there is a hope for Arsenal to get it right in their remaining matches because their coach has discovered what made Everton to defeated them last match which he has pleased with Arsenal fans that such thing will not happen again till the end of this tournament. I think, Manchester city and Arsenal are in a good position to drag this premier league title in final, because the two teams has displayed well to maintain a good position in this season. If Arsenal coach can introduce new strategies before their next match, I think they will not experience loss from the match.
Arsenal FC has come a long way in recent years, and we are confident that they will recover quickly. Everton played in a wonderful spirit and passion, and with their home crowd backing them, they deserved to win. Arsenal have now suffered two losses in a row. I worry that by showing other teams that Arsenal can be defeated easily, they may lose more games in the future.
I won't accept any justifications for them losing to Brentford and then Manchester City in their upcoming game.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 06, 2023, 02:31:18 PM
They usually say when it is meant to be your turn, nothing can really stop it. This season it is very obvious that the premier league is Arsenal's and with this point deduction that Manchester City the closest English team to being a challenge for the league, If these points get deducted Arsenal will be safe but still not out of the reach of Manchester United and Newcastle. For players like Halaand who just joined Manchester United and was really hoping that this season, his first season with the club will be same season he wins the league and record of highest goal scorer with Manchester city, will have to wait for another season for them to try again. If these points get deducted, the focus of Manchester city management will be to be able to still qualify for the champions league next season, that is by still finishing top four this season.
They didn't need to lie, they could have avoided breaking the rules but they didn't. I can't help but wonder why? Still I know that external bodies cannot claim innocence. They were aware that this was taking place, yet despite this, all of the legitimate clubs have lost championships to this club. Will clubs like Liverpool and others who lost to city be rewarded if city did, in fact, defeat them to the title three times by one point? Cheating has no place in sports.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Interesting Facts About Online Casinos on: February 06, 2023, 01:39:22 PM
These are interesting facts and I would have been surprised if slots is not the most popular game at casino. Slot you so popular that even have seen some website where you can just play it for free just for the thrill of fun of it. And the most interesting thing about slot is that it is not restricted to gender or age. It also requires less skill so anyone can play it.

I agree that when it comes to gender there are more men gambling that women. At least I can speak from personal experience in my own environment. In addition from the fact number for I want to add that even in places where gambling is legalized most people prefer online gambling because of the is accessibility and convenience.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos Want you to Gamble Responsibly on: February 06, 2023, 01:32:17 PM
Any thoughts?
This is a good thread, but from what I see, these online casinos just put this information there for the sake of formality.

They know that there are regulatory bodies that visit their website, and these are some of the things they would look out for. Also, they know that people would likely put out reviews for their site and would appraise them either positively or negatively if these write-ups or information were missing. And lastly, it seems like the moralistic thing to do.

1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Act local and think global on: February 04, 2023, 02:55:45 PM
Today too many people are in worries about Bitcoin adoption, they want to see the global adoption happens overnight, that is impossible, I had some chats yesterday within a mist of friends and they are talking about how they don't notice any fast global bitcoin adoption, I told them that it won't happen instantly.

Bitcoin came into the world in 2009 and so far it's been doing so well. My last piece of advice to them is that Bitcoin adoption starts with us, let's forget about the global side, how many people have you lectured about Bitcoin this year locally, I asked.

The same thing goes out to all of us on here, every part we take locally will have a big impact on Bitcoin adoption, never get tired of spreading the news, it's worthy.
I like the idea of acting local and thinking global. On this forum I have read a lot of thread where uses are carrying out some sort of Bitcoin awareness India local community. I have seen uses talk to market women talk to school children talk to religious leaders and others.

The aim of this in simple Bitcoin adoption periods so when all of this acting local and thinking global as it relates to Bitcoin is that Bitcoin should move towards adduction why most people.
1210  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: February 04, 2023, 02:40:08 PM
Recently I have been trying to come up with ways of making some money on the side and thinking of giving trading a go.

I have zero experience and have just been looking on Coinbase at the best and worst performers of the day.

I am thinking of buying coins that are 15% or more down and then selling once they pump 10% and move onto the next one that is 15% down and then again sell at 10% profit and just keep repeating.

Anyone done something similar or will it just lead me to losing my money?
Trading cryptocurrency can make you a millionaire in a minute or make you the poorest person on the surface of the earth. As a newbie, you are sure going to making loses therefore, you have to brace up for it.
As a newbie you should first make you up mind to sit down and study after you have decided whether you want to be a long-term trader or a short-term trader. Short-term traders trade more actively for a short period of time than the longer-term traders.
As a newbie be willing to learn about risk management because itself is risky and you must learn effective strategies to manage trading risks. You should also be keen on learning how to place trades and read charts.
Another of your focus should look towards what trading platform is best for you. If you can know all these, you are off to a great start.
1211  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: February 04, 2023, 02:20:36 PM
One of the biggest difficults in life is to manage growing your patrimony and income, when earning minimum wage and living in poor areas where opportunities are scarce, as is the money circulating in the local economy. Some hints that could be useful:

Choose carefully where you go shopping: some supermarkets are more expensive than others. Shopping on physical stores is more expensive than shopping online. Don't go for the first price you see on the labels. Search for promotions, try to adequate your demand for products to your currently financial budget in a way you don't spend all your money in the end of the month.

Some supermarkets are selling overpriced commodities. You spend more on the same item one could get for less at a corner shop or a thrift shop.
If you earn low, there is no need to act rich by going to the malls, or having expensive launch and dinner dated or breaking the bank to designers whatever to impress people who do not like you.

Use your tongue to count your teeth is a famous saying.
1212  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: February 04, 2023, 02:05:50 PM
Would you prefer to be a contract staff for a company that is being paid a certain percentage for every job delivered, or would you prefer a job with a fixed monthly or weekly income? (Give a reason for your answer aside the reason that will be stated)

With percentage earnings, you can earn more and you will be very motivated to work, but the disadvantage will be when there is no job.
With Fixed earnings, you are sure of what to receive, but sometimes the workload you may encounter may be so much that the salary you are paid does not befit the work you put in.

My preference is weekly pay. Why? The reason is because it will help me not to be in debt. Monthly pay may cause me to run into debt. Waiting for 30 days to get paid may cause me to run into debt.
Weekly pay means the periodic flow of the income will be short and it will help me to plan very well. Also, percentage pay is my preference. Whatever that comes out, you give me my percentage.
1213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption growing stronger everyday on: February 04, 2023, 01:48:48 PM
More institutions are catching the bitcoin fever. They are interested. They are studying it, and they are getting in.
The long-term potential of bitcoin could be seen as one of the factors that are pushing institutions to adopt bitcoin. As we may already know, the market cap of bitcoin is around $446.40 billion and it is large enough as an asset class for institutional investors.

1215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 03, 2023, 04:25:35 PM

Chelsea made a good move getting fresh young and talented players to come add some life to the team and give a new face especially as the name of the club is bout to change. Enzo is a good player according to everyone and the statistics, but he looks overhyped for me maybe because he was part of the team that won the world cup.

Chelsea's first test of the new team will be against Fulham in the premier league today, and if Enzo will play, many people will be looking to see the how well he will perform and the kind of effect he will bring to the team especially with the amount Chelsea signed him for.
With this signing Chelsea just got better in the midfield. I expect to see nothing less than excellent football from Chelsea in the next 18 months.

He is a young and talented player with massive potentials who I hope to see  take control of the midfield and create chances for the forwards. Welcome Enzo.
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go-to casino on: February 03, 2023, 03:59:19 PM
If after experiencing defeat and we immediately play again to be able to win and return the loss, it might be true that the casino will not allow this to happen and instead we will lose more and more money.
The way that needs to be done is that we need to stop for a moment and calm down before starting again.
That way when our minds have started to calm down we can be more effective in managing strategies and ways to be able to win a game at the casino.
What you have described here is a case of revenge gambling also known as chasing losses. Usually the category of people who fall into this trap or should I say emotional trap are beginner gamblers.
As time goes on, they begin to understand that they should not allow their emotions to rule them whenever they lose a game rather they should live and try again some other time. Chasing losses is a waste of time and energy and money. You never ever recover the loss because the odds are really against you.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your earliest Gambling Story? on: February 03, 2023, 03:52:21 PM
My earliest gambling story was many years ago I think I was 20 years old. I traveled from the countryside to the city to visit my uncle.
It was on a Friday and he wanted to show me around town,we visited some very nice places, and then ended up at a pub with a slot machine. Prior to this time I had only seen slot machines in the television but seeing it in real life made me curious and I wanted to try it out.
We talked to the attendant and I play the slot all I can remember was winning about $10. It didn't matter what mattered was that I had satisfied my curiosity. I would later go on to seek out stores with slot machines when I got on campus as an undergraduate student.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 03:36:04 PM
You seem like a good initiative. This is my first time to read about this.
So I'm familiar with charity and non-profit organisations and giving back to good causes. I'm really impressed with the causes those casinos supports. I just wonder if a gambler will feel good about losing knowing that despite the loss it is gain to the less privileged. Does this justify gambling?
1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 02, 2023, 10:36:42 PM
Juventus won the game and they will face Inter now in the semifinal of Coppa Italia.

Lazio did nothing at all and Juventus deserved the win.
Lazio could have done better but they didn't even seem as if they wanted to win. They came in defeated. Even though this was like an easy win for Juve, they had the opportunity to do better.
Overall, I didn't enjoy the game. Inter is a tough team for Juventus I already predict a 2- 1 win in favour of Inter.
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: February 02, 2023, 07:24:59 PM
Who didn’t hear or watch at least one video about Dana white’s latest show which called The Power Slap League that started this new year of 2023, the rules of this sport are easy and simple where both competitors taking turns trying to knock each other out in order to win
There is a lot of talking about it lately about the low payout of Ufc boss to the participants of this tournament which goes to only 3200£ a Fight while he might be generating millions of dollars of it, But my topic here i want it to be about betting on this new sport and tournament which i still didn’t see any bookmaker announcing anything about this matter, And in my opinion it’s a lot of fan and as any fighting sport there is always bookmakers that will eventually include Power Slap League and allow people to bet on their favorite fighters.

Just like UFC, I do not like this extreme sport. I think it is disgraceful for combat sports.  I know that a fight is a fight. But when you stand there with no defense, hands behind your back, getting slapped as you stand,
it is just disgusting to watch.  This should not be in any way promoted by UFC. If they can't stop Dana White now, they should sue him when people start suffering severe brain injuries.
