221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Security is important in Bitcoin on: December 13, 2023, 10:08:02 PM
Well now that you have know that to secure ones private key is important through the experience of watching your friend, what were the practical steps you took to avoid the same mistakes. You should know that your friend is still at risk if he goes ahead to create another Trust Wallet account. I had expected you to write that you learned from your friend and read up on ways to store your seed phrase safely. That you read about wallet security, clipboard malware, and the other many security risks that poses a threat to the safety of our bitcoins.
222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchange withdrawal issues on: December 12, 2023, 10:03:56 PM
Even if you live in the remotes part of the world, you should still be able to have access to atleast one of these exchanges Binance, Coinbase, Kucoin, Kraken, Bybit. I checked went further to check the top cryptocurrency spot exchanges on https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/ and I didn't find this exchange which the OP talked about on the list. I am concluding that the OP has been scammed.
223  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 12, 2023, 09:18:05 PM
My focus as a condition to good long term retirement is overall health and physical fitness - this goal will be in the first year of my retirement. I know it may be boring and lacking purpose, and I can easily solve this by taking on many paid and unpaid jobs out there. Additionally, I hope to have built up a lot of self-awareness during my working years to be able to take action to keep moving in the right direction. People with a lot of life and work experience have a lot to offer to their community, and being involved in community work is something I would do after retirement.
224  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unknown fact our profitable colleagues won't tell us on: December 12, 2023, 08:19:38 PM
In trading no matter how skilled a trader is, he will most times lose some of his trades because no one has a crystal balls.
Unfortunately, beginner traders are not told this reality. Instead they want to hear that trading is for everyone that trading is easy and everyone can make $10,000 a month trading simply by following a line on a chart. If you lose on 70% of your trade even as a skilled trader then you are not qualified to be called a skilled trader. Your losses should be reasonable as there are losses that comes as a result of the fault of the trader and there are those that are as a result of the market.

A beginner reading this your approach towards trading should be one mixed with a little bit very cynicism and a little bit angry at the world because the rest of the world is there to take your money. Question everything every method, every system every objective is a good basis to start trading.
225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase App Store rank as a market top indicator on: December 12, 2023, 07:21:18 PM
What I tried to say is that relying on download numbers as an indicator for predicting the price will give inaccurate results due to the ease of influencing the download numbers compared to the price of Bitcoin. Launching rumors such as that Coinbase will have big airdrop will make the number of downloads jumping quickly.
I have the Coinbase app downloaded on my mobile device but I rarely open it. Doing a quick search on the internet about the market is my preference. And there are others like me all over the world do the same thing too. Therefore, the number of downloads is not a strong indicator of the market. This is why I think you are correct because not just airdrops but also free NFTs minting could also cause the app download numbers to increase.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google is preparing for Spot Bitcoin ETF on: December 12, 2023, 07:10:22 PM
Google is constantly revising, reviewing, adjusting and updating their crypto advertising policy. In 2018,they did it twice.

In all of these the community should be happy because of the positive impact these new guidelines can have on bitcoin mass adoption. First more people would be exposed to it starting with Google searches as there is going to be increased visibility of bitcoin on its platforms. Secondly, scammers would be discouraged too due to strict monitoring on crypto ads.

The terms and conditions above which answers the question is also similar to the terms and conditions of the other casino I played at. I can say that we can generalize that this is what is obtainable for 90% of casinos.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Interview for sports bettors. on: December 11, 2023, 09:08:33 PM
4-What can you advise on the new gamblers and those who struggles in sports betting?
Ans ;
Gamby is like a sword with two sharp edges. On the one edge, it can slay your boredom and entertain you while on the other edge, it can slay your finance , relationships, career and life.

Be honest about your struggles with sports betting. There is all ways help and you can find it, if you go seeking for it. You need real people that you can have a face to face conversation with about quitting gambling or learning to take control of your gambling habits.

https://www.begambleaware.org/ is a good website to start from.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 11, 2023, 08:34:08 PM
I disagree and at the same time agree with some of the fantastic points that you have made. I will enumerate them below

First, what may work for you in terms of shorter play may not work for the other person. If you think gambling is fun and take it as a form of entertainment, it is not bout the time spent but if you are happy while at it. No right thinking person should spend more than an hour there.

I do not agree with the statement that you should spend 20minutes everyday gambling. I'd say that you shouldn't gamble everyday because of you do, it becomes more like responsibility than something to help relieve stress.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you wrap up your gambling session? on: December 11, 2023, 08:11:19 PM
I have to say that you are a better and more organized gambler than I am. I am having a thought now to start doing this. I do the normal thing like watching my bankroll and not playing for more than the allocated time. However, there are days when I get carried away and go out of the plan I have. And it happens when there is a distraction from within the home or out side. Therefore wrapping up because a fight between my will and my gambling self.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 11, 2023, 07:54:19 PM
A guy claimed he won $5000 on a poker machine and that's where his addiction began, and when it get to the point that he lost his rent money to gambling he decide to take matters in his one way.

He proceeded by going to gaming commission and had his name banned by himself, ( Someone please tell me how this is possible?) never seen such in my country before. he claimed he still go back to casinos at times and he knew he can't ever win big again, because his name was flagged in the system, and if he win big they won't pay him.

He said he was limited to winning $200, that anymore than this he would have to sign his name and be subject to prosecution for trespassing. He claimed his move took his joy out from gambling real fast, and now he haven't been near a casino in over 10 years.
This part of the story makes no sense. If he is limited to winning big does that mean that he can control the result of the game? I know that if you want to win big, you stake big but there are also people who with their little wager, they still win big.

What the person in the story should have done instead was to put the self-exclusion such that his wager can't go past a certain limit. And that he can only stake on a game, that amount, once per week.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risk only what you can afford to lose on: December 10, 2023, 11:00:04 PM
According to the majority, hardware wallets are the safest place to keep your assets, as well as air-gapped wallets. Since you are exchanging data in the computer even if you didn't use internet connection there's still a risk.
Hardware wallets are not as safe as the manufacturers would like for use to think and one of the issues is that I think manufacturers of these devices have a hand in  over complicating this issue. I have to repeat this that all we want is a device that stores our keys cryptographically and that no 3rd party apps or the manufacturer themselves can have access to our keys. If the manufacturer goes beyond these basic specs then, in my opinion they are not providing the secure service we demand.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 10, 2023, 09:54:47 PM
No one can be an expert on speculating about bitcoin. The market is dynamic. It is not static whereby you can use an Isaac Newton's equation to calculate bitcoin's price at a particular time and it will be correct. Like you said, it is just speculation where 99.9% of those who engage in it are repeating what others have said which they are not sure of.

Last week some one online was happy about bitcoin's price. He openly boasted that he told whoever cared to listen that bitcoin was going to climb up to $41k the previous week and it need and that before that week runs out, bitcoin's price would be at $45k. He was wrong.

No one can be a bitcoin speculation expert.
234  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID is dead, "long live the new COVID". World economy get ready? on: December 10, 2023, 09:14:36 PM
Could it be side effects from having gotten Covid or the Covid vaccine? I had gotten the virus 3 times even though I did get the vaccine and booster and now two-three years later I have vascular problems.  I had it in my family tree but I did not suffer from it before.  I think the virus turned on the genetic switch.  Maybe that is what is going on in China.
235  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Staying away from scam. on: December 10, 2023, 08:43:51 PM
Quick money to be able to have a great holiday celebrations is what may lead people into falling for several scams that are already over the place. The holidays is about family. It is not about who is better than the other. It is about family, love and togetherness. There is no one to try to impress because there is always someone who has it better than you.

Do not set unrealistic goal without a tangible plan. A person may set a goal of making $10000 from cryptocurrency before the year runs out and when you ask them how to aim to achieve it, they will tell you that they will invest in some shit coins, memecoins, nfts,  and once it pumps, they cash out. This type of person is only going to set himself up for being a potential scam target.

DO NOT TRUST VERIFY.
236  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sacrifice!!! on: December 10, 2023, 08:32:00 PM
• Friends: Friends are important. The only friends that I would sacrifice are those who discourage me from trading. I will align myself or get new friends who are into trading newbies and experienced traders alike. They are key to a successful trading journey.

• Relationships:
Do you mean intimate relationships or what? If you mean intimate or romantic relationships that is meaningful, supportive, and non-toxic, I see no reason to let such a relationship go. I will always need to talk to my lover during a hard trading time to find and get all the emotional support I desire. However, if the relationship is the other way around, then I won't even think twice before exiting it.

• Money: This is non-negotiable. You must spend money or sacrifice money in your quest for something worthwhile you are bound to spend money. Even if  you are learning on YouTube, you will need to pay money to have access to the internet as it is not free. You would also need to buy a laptop and other things to make learning easy.

• Time: Time for me is the ultimate sacrifice. If you have other jobs, you may need to sacrifice some sleep time to learn. Some lunch time to learn. Some play time to learn. Some party time to learn. This is the ultimate sacrifice. And how much you learn and how is based on the time spent.

238  Economy / Gambling discussion / What Aspect of Sports Betting or Casino Gambling Posed a Challenge for You? on: December 08, 2023, 07:11:14 PM
What aspect of sports betting or casino gambling posed an initial challenge for you when you first started, but which you eventually grasped? How did you finally understand it. Did a friend explain it, did you watch a YouTube video, participate in a sports betting community on social media, or did you figure it out through a trial-and-error approach?
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for newbies on: December 08, 2023, 06:57:20 PM
Hello everyone, as you can see I'm new here, I'm looking for recommendations for a game to bet some money that I don't mind losing, I would like recommendations and if possible a recommendation for somewhere that teaches how to play. Thank you very much. Grin
Since you do not mind whether you win or lose, your first game to try out for fun should be slot. It exciting, it is entertaining, it is fun. Just choose a theme that is relatable and it will give you a dopamine rush when the wheels are spinning. And as a new player, it are likely to end up with some good win as I have found beginners or first time slot players to be quite lucky. The luck and joy of winning is only short leaved if you do not discipline yourself to stop playing as soon as you have won.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos and gamblers are struggling with high tx fees.? on: December 08, 2023, 06:31:49 PM

do people still gamble with these high tx fees? Is the current congestion in the mempool a motivation to some set of gamblers? that they might likely get fortunate since alot of gamblers won't wanna evade the high fees??

Why do I gamble or what have I done to mitigate the effects of the high transaction fee? Here's some -
  • I have reduced the number of times I gamble from 3 times per week to 1
  • I leave a huge portion my winnings in my casino wallet reduce deposit into my wallet
  • I sometimes use other crypto
  • I have reduced the amount I used for wagering.
