ajk, i don't think you realize just how complex laws are in the US especially regarding "investments".

TBH, regardless of if Ken delivers in the hardware part of things (also, regardless of his previous strange predictions in his press releases) reading all this and him being based in the US i wouldn't be surprised if he had many non-technical challenges that are coming his way - lawsuits, sec etc

Such lament already and yet the bear market in Bitcoin has only barely begun!
It's been a bear market for a month now. Bitcoin likely can't survive another extended bear market. Those of you who want cheap coins be careful what you wish for. Your perspective seems pretty short and shallow. The chances of bitcoin actually succeeding are very slim. Very few people actually use bitcoin and even fewer haven even heard of it. We need to build some momentum if it's ever going to succeed. Bitcoins have actually become much harder to trade in the past couple of months (no more dwolla on mtgox, and no more usd mtgox bank transfers) and it is still way to hard for the average person to obtain bitcoins. And many of the Bitcoin promises (bitcoin ATM, bitinstant debit card, paypal and western union looking into bitcoin) have yet to become reality. There doesn't seem to be much on the horizon for bitcoin right now other than increased government regulation. i don't think you've invested a lot of time in understanding what's going on with btc .. there's a lot besides regulation. many new companies are coming out this year. lots of money that's been invested into innovation. the common person does not know TCP/IP yet uses it everyday.

the articles floating around mainstream sites paint LR as an evil money laundering operation. though i've never used LR or any egold like services it's pretty harsh statements.

It seems to me that if the purchased hash rate is 200Mh per share, then the only metric that really matters is the network difficulty at the time the equipment actually starts hashing. We can't possibly know what the network difficulty will be, but we do know that companies consistently fail to hash on time. Purchasing this stock is just placing a bet that this company will succeed in delivering while others will not.
If correct, and companies like BFL do not ship en masse (what in their past would make you think they would). And bulk purchasers of Avalon chips realize that it isn't that easy to take an open source design and create your own boards. Then these shares really could end up hashing .5 - .7 BTC over the course of the first year.
I'm of the opinion that these shares are a steal at .28 (current ask) and will be buying more until around .35 - .4
Just my 2c
your assumption is that there will be no DELAYS. you seem very confident.

long run potential and *value* of shares is subject to re-investment. it would be much better if they set a reinvestment rate but perhaps they don't want to bother OR they will just use the proceeds to build more for themselves without sharing with public

"BFL has excellent customer service." Bahahahahahahaha! Comedy gold!
In my experience, BFL does have excellent customer service; your and others' experience may differ. Read more about the lifetime transferable warranty on BFL ASICs. I don't believe any other ASICs have this level of support. The warranty and best performance-per-watt offered by BFL is what makes this an excellent purchase, in my mind. Cheers! this assumes the company will be around to provide a lifetime warranty.

This has the potential of becoming ASICMINER 2.0, I sold some of my ASICMINERS shares and bought some 100TH. Hope that the mine would be deployed within the planned time frame, if so, it surely would outshine ASICMINER.
you do know what you are saying. this is not AM 2.0. there is no reinvesting that will be done and during this time AM will have 200TH. not sure how much research you did not that this is bad but i don't think you are comparing correctly

What a waste of energy.
It's a shame this computing power hasn't but put to something useful, like Folding@home or Rosetta@home.
yes, i would also come to the conclusion that a government wastes a lot of energy, human energy and actual energy. what is your point? f- off
