Half hour for 6 confirmations? That's twice as fast as it should be.
I wasn't timing it so I could be off Didn't feel like it took a terribly long time, tho. It's probably about an hour, as bitcoin blocks average to 1 block every 10 minutes.

That's odd. You're including fees, right? Normally my transactions take maybe half an hour to clear out with 6 confirmations.

Call me nuts Done, you're crazy. This would be a huge fundamental change, implementing something like this would need a lead time of at least a year. Bitcoin rewards have been set in stone and will continue to be, as I could never see something like this getting passed. The real way to flatten out the spikes is to get more people into Bitcoin.

Dude waited a year to scam $100? That's gotta be the biggest waste of an account ever.
Not sure what you're talking about, but check out his profile. He's been registered for 1 week now. EDIT: I sent him one last PM, if I don't hear back by the next time I see him online I'll look into getting him tagged as a scammer.

Also feel free to use the report button, we do check them.
A good suggestion for everyone! Reports stand out a lot and are very likely to be handled.

Yep, read through that posting already...I am guessing that I need to do the four hours/five post before I can do anything regarding Devtome. I did create an account over there already, but can't post anything yet
If you have something new to post about it, write up the post and PM me with a link and I'll whitelist you/move the post if it looks good. Otherwise go for the 5 posts/4 hours till you can post outside, or you could PM people if you have something specific to say to them.

Why is your site better than any others out there? Are there any specific features you have that others don't?

I just removed a bunch of replies that were pretty much "ok" or "replying" please try to keep the spam posts out of here, I'll be deleting them.

Still nothing from Dan.
Mods - can this be moved to the scammer forum?
I'll move it over there. You should have the option to move your own threads as well. I've heard a little from him and sent another PM, waiting to hear back on that one.

As far as I know there's nothing simple that does it.

Just keep reading for now, you'll get to 4 hours quick enough.

If you hit your foot with a hammer you will forget about your fingers for a while.

Or is it now like "customer support" for bitcoin?
Pretty much... That's how I've treated it some, though I try not to send anything too stupid there. I think the best bet might be a new sub-forum for the Customer Support type threads.

Yea, it's probably getting close. Though for now most of those should probably be in the Custom Hardware section.
Anyone else want to weigh in on this? I don't browse the mining section all too much.

Since Dan isn't online to defend himself: I asked him about this guy. He said this guy backed out when Dan tried to escrow the payment. Dan has agreed to escrow my pending payment. Will report back when successful.
I didn't back out. I sent him the MP number and he confirmed he received it and said he sent my coins. Can a Mod tell me how I could view my sent PM's so I can post the entire conversation? You can't unless you setup archiving. See my stickied post in the newbie section. Can you still redeem the MP code? I talked to him and he said after he told you to escrow with John K you stopped responding. Can you post a screen shot proving that he said he sent the coins? Make sure to redact the MP code if it's showing.

It's probably not time to do that yet, but it will be very soon. I'd guess that it's time to do the merge once someone is selling ASICs consistently.

I personally don't. I'm just hoping to nip that whole, "Waaah, he paid a lower number than I did because the value increased, and that's not fair!" foolishness in the bud before it becomes too widespread. It's also ironichypocritical to discuss deflation as being very unfair on a forum about a deflationary currency.
Madam, you don't seem to make any sense at all. That's Countess to you, sir. Do explain what it is you find confusing. Milady, we are upon the deep and venerable question, whether 1 bitcoin now equals 1 bitcoin tomorrow. The western legal tradition says it does. Perhaps I do understand what you are saying, but find it humiliating to even consider lowering the price of our Most Prestigious titles, namely the Donator tag. If anything, its price should be increased to reflect the increasing readership, and heap honor upon honor of the early Donators. In which case, your argument has nothing to do with whether the price of a donation should be adjusted due to fluctuation in bitcoin value and should not depend on the exchange of a bitcoin at all. Instead, the price of a donator tag should be based on the actual value of said tag itself. Similarly to how a golf course that used to charge $50 a month for membership when it just started up, may end up charging $30,000 a year fees for prestigious membership once it becomes successful. I can agree with that. Though I am not sure that having a donator tag grants you special access to Bitcoin's wealthy and well connected. I wouldn't know, but perhaps you can fill us in? Nothing special happening in the donator section.

I still don't get why one shouldn't use paypal to buy bitcoins.. if you can prove you sent the bitcoins, paypal will never sent the money back to the buyer..
Plus the person can always claim their paypal account was hacked.
