A new client release is coming by this weekend , i hoped to launch it tonight but am still testing.
Details will be available.
Thanks to all for continued support.
It will be a mandatory update for anyone running the client with the launch.
Non mandatory if you run the updated one available now.
The p2p ports had to be changed and I have been running the network on both.
Support for the original network will be cutoff when I release this update.
Again , if you are running the current version available here or at cryptocointalk you are not going to be cutoff.
Even the old client may still connect or work but I will not be providing support for that port once this update is released.
Photon is just getting started , This is my final coin.
Magnum opus if you will.
Big plans for continued support, I am working (slowly) on merged mining Photon with Blake Coin and Bluedragon747 and others are also independently working on it also. Anyone who wants to lend support let me know. If not , one of us is going to solve the issues soon and with merged mining will come strength and the ability to mine 2 (or possibly more in the future) coins at the same time, no switching, same time !!
This is the future of alternative cryptocurrency as I (and a few others see it)
Development continues.

Not sure what went on here. Another case of a 'privliged' individual personally benefiting from the rest of us. Integrity and the ability to be 'smart' about things are must have traits for any coin developer. When coins that are run honestly have low value at exchanges and questionable coins have high value it shows right out in the open.

All publically available information I'm afraid you may have to stalk me ..... join the flock that does Hey @cinnamon_carter it would be good if you tell me what coins do you mine (except blake)? and what are the others coin that you developed?

i fixed it, but it will never be able to connect to your server if you compiled it with the source on github,
suggestion to future coin developers ...... test your coin before you release it........
psssst...... take out the checkpoints of the coin you clone.........

i hope he knows what he is doing since i built it and it has problems, 70k blocks remain if(nHeight < 17280) // no block reward within the first 3 days nSubsidy = 0; if(nHeight > 10519200) // no block reward after 5 years nSubsidy = 0;

I also prefer to solo mine, most people like the security of a pool From a pure math standpoint when you solo mine you should produce and equal amount of coin that you would mining in a pool over a long period of time for your hash power , assuming difficulty stays the same. I own a single 7970 and most days I hit a couple blocks but not always. I have been mostly mining Photon only , I still mine other coins on and off including a few I developed and of course Blake Coin glad you hit some !! When I updated the client I had to change the ports, i think many people have not upgraded to the latest wallet, I have a few nodes looking at one now with 37 connections Thanks for mining, are you hitting blocks or are you in blue dragons pool ? Include your wallet if you care to reply Curious how many peers others have connected. I have only 2 but am managing to mine. -Lyddite
I've been solo mining. Switching between Blakecoin and Photon. I have tried one of Bluedragon's pools but have found solo mining to produce about the same income, albeit with more variance. -Lyddite

How about spicing this thread up with coins we would like to see suffer a 51% attack ?
I would not shead a tear if Dodge was taken out. Permanently.
Poor design, hiding behind cuteness is a coin that in my eyes was carefully planned for a long time to attack the credability of other scrypt 1024 coins that have true potential including litecoin and feathercoin. Also it makes btc look like a joke.
If I was working for the banking system and I wanted to hurt bitcoin and other currencies I would have designed something just like this.
Forks often.
Unlimited coins forever so guaranteed to be worthless.
The amount of bitcoin spent on pumping it to get it started was big and so was the hash power rented and bought to keep it going so no expense was spared. If you believe it was an accident dream on, the number of fake posts here, on twitter and everywhere stink bad.
The only people who can possibly benefit from this is the exchanges since volume is high on this and I have been watching alt coins and bitcoin and am very knowledgable about financial markets. the volume of trading is too high. Someone continues to invest a fortune in bitcoin to keep this going. I call this a pro hit job designed to confuse and spam up the whole scene.
I don't want to see innocent people who for some deranged reason invested in this lose thier money.
Maybe some heavy hitters can set a date in the future and just put it out of it's misery.
I know there are too many coins.
I know things are out of control.
Most will just die off and many have.
I take cryptocurrency very seriously.
I am not in it for the money , I think cryptocurrency , btc, the whole thing can make the world a better place in many ways.
This is the only coin I dislike. I am critical of some others , generally premined coins but this coin deserves to be put down.
I am not threatening to do this myself nor could I. All I am saying is if it happened I think it would be very good for the scene.

I will say that not only is Atomic a secure exchange the people who run it are professional and have class and good taste. They are also licensed and located in the United States so you can buy bitcoin there or sell bitcoin if your account is verified. You can also buy and sell Auroracoin and Soverigncoin direct for Us Dollars. You can trade currencies without being verified. They offer a reward program called Atomic Points where everyone gets a piece of the action and you can refer others to get a piece of the action. I highly recommend anyone serious about bitcoin or alternative cryptocurrencies check it out. https://www.atomic-trade.com/

I have to say I have been studying the source code to Rie Coin for about a week and it looks really well coded.
So far a nice learning experience.

I have several suggestions of coins to add to your exchange.
A few I have developed myself, most are coins that I admire for various reasons and would make excellent additions.
Is there a way to contact you to discuss the matter professionally ?
