1241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who made 150% of their investment in January ? on: January 26, 2015, 09:50:54 AM
"Who made 150% of their investment.."

Making 150% off an investment of $190 = doubling Original Investment (you get 100% of the original) + another 50% of the original investment, which /= $300 = $285

190 * x = 300

x = 1.58 (this isn't 158%, that would be 2.58)

This is 1.58 times, which is equivalent to 158%

Whichever way you try to slice it, you can't 'make' 158% from $190 and get $300.

Corrected math inside the quote.
1242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you a newbie ? Here is some free gift for you... on: January 26, 2015, 09:30:21 AM
I think it is over. Interestingly we were waiting on 10 newbies to sign up and after a week we still didnt meet the quota. Now, after it is over, there are plenty candidates -)

This is the nature of people. When the opportunity is there, they wont avail it. When it is over they'll jump on it. Same is happening at their sig campaign => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=917174.0

unfortunately jr members can not participate Sad

As I can see, Jr. Members are now allowed to participate.
yea this good news for jr.member rank Smiley
they give good rate

Interestingly, Full Member & Member ranks are filling up, but no Jr. Member has joined so far !!!
1243  Economy / Services / Re: CloudMining.website Signature - Highest payment per post - Jr. Members allowed on: January 26, 2015, 09:28:01 AM
Going to join this once my current sig campaign ends. Smiley But I have a question about the site, how do you change your email address? Only the password can be changed under the Settings tab.

Email address and Bitcoin address change are manual and subject to verification. You may like to create a ticket regarding this in our support forum: http://forum.cloudmining.website/viewforum.php?f=3

sign up is not working on your website?

We were down for some time due to DDOS and CloudFlare was showing cached copy. Everything should be fine by now.

It is easy to check: http://www.cloudmining.website/login.php

Edit:
It does not work under Chrome, under IE is ok.

If it is working under IE, it should be working under Chrome as well. Open the link in Chrome and press Ctrl+F5.
1244  Other / Meta / Re: Effect of no BTCtalk on: January 26, 2015, 09:08:51 AM
What do you think the effect on bitcoin would be if bitcointalk stops existing

Ponzi scheme will die, cm service die, all bitcoin service die, no escrow anymore, and finally bitcoin die Cheesy

This forum started going down recently.

It seems to me that every time Bitcointalk goes down, the exchange rate goes up 20%. The effect is clear. We should make sure that Bitcointalk goes away and never comes back.

1248  Local / India / Re: Now we know the culprit for the price crash. It is ButterFlylabs !!! on: January 20, 2015, 04:38:23 PM
On December 23 a Missouri court ordered a wind down of Butterfly Labs and they began a refund plan…..now here is my theory…I was looking at the blockchain and came across a 5000 btc utxo taken incrementally down to 0….it was sold off continuously. It took me to here.

https://blockchain.info/address/12WRnQR85ZUT7dhmaHBNL5dde2QLYieW6v

Activity on that address started back up on 12/23 the day the courts provided control again. Ive tied it to butterfly labs because a OP_RETURN said paycoin.com linked to Josh Zerlan an employee of butterflylabs.

What is scary is another 90000 unspent coins reside here also controlled by butterfly labs.

While this might not be the ONLY reason Bitcoin price went down, it might be one of the primary factors.

I'm surprised no one dug it out before. Such a major exchange of coins cannot go unnoticed for long.

And if this is true, I'm actually relieved that price fall didn't have anything to do with loss of interest in market or lost demand. It just means ample supply on the sell side.

Last year bitcoin lost market cap of around a billion dollar or more. But, the investment to bitcoin businesses has been a billion dollar or more as well... Bitcoin is not going anywhere anytime soon. Give some time to the little baby Wink
1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sucks its nearly impossible to sell tangible goods for BTC! on: January 20, 2015, 04:33:25 PM
What we need to get the "energy" back your talking about is another big country like China. Have we done everything possible to promote Bitcoin in India? There's over a billion of them too.

Doing it... dont worry... wait a few more months Wink

I know you're working on it but one man is not an island.

There are more people working on Bitcoin in India than one can imagine. The problem is that, they are struggling to get a legal identity and hence unable to come up in open to the community. At this early stage, what the most of them need is "a bit of love". I have seen multiple businesses coming to this forum for promotion and being called as outright scam for no apparent reason. This way, the bitcoin people are losing their own opportunity. The Chinese & Indian can create the demand for Bitcoin that no other country in the world can. But, if the businesses does not grow there, if the bitcoin does not circulate their, if the bitcoin developers can not breathe there, the demand will never be created...
1250  Local / India / Re: Now we know the culprit for the price crash. It is ButterFlylabs !!! on: January 15, 2015, 11:15:00 AM
Also I dont see a point why they would attempt to dump so many BTC on same day. They could do in batches for say 10 days.
Dumping at one shot not only affects the market but will affect themselves as well. (or a i wrong in my analysis?)

They are not dumping or doing anything on their will. They are simply doing what court is ordering them to do. Plummeting BTC price hurts Josh as well just like it hurts us. But it does not hurt the court which ordered it. Court is committed to the public to refund them as soon as possible. So they gave this verdict. If Josh can recover the amount in FIAT, what he has to refund, then it is fine. Otherwise court may order him to be jailed.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: LocalBitcoins type Alt Coin exchange available ? on: January 14, 2015, 06:20:41 PM
I want to trade some prominent Alt Coins against Bitcoin in a peer to peer platform like LocalBitcoins. Is there any exchange available like this ?

I dont know any such exchange operating right now... But, it would be great if one is available like this.

My bet: nobody has any rationale for this hysterical selling and dumping. Or did I miss something?

Ya... u missed something.

Happy New Year bitcoiners Smiley

A lot of things have taken place at our end in last few months. We did not expect it will take so much time, but we are happy to say, that at last we are close to launch. OP is updated with the latest info. Expecting support from the community...

www.100bit.co.in

I think you are going to be the first exchange to offer direct trading between alt coin & bitcoin. Would be interested to see how it turns out...
1255  Local / India / Re: Now we know the culprit for the price crash. It is ButterFlylabs !!! on: January 14, 2015, 05:52:53 PM
Oops... seems real. Josh Zerlan is the culprit once again, but for all the wrong reasons.
1256  Local / India / Re: lost Money in Unocoin: Buy, Use and Accept Bitcoin in India on: January 14, 2015, 05:51:38 PM
is unocoin.com an exchange??

i don't see any buy or sell orders/any kind of order chart history like in coinsecure.in???

There are 2 types of exchanges.

C2C = Customer to Customer exchange, Eg : Btc-e, Cryptsy, Coinsecure etc

and then there are the other kind of exchange, which I think is called M2C = Merchant to Customer exchange.

Basically these type of exchanges dont rely on the price of the sell orders listed by the customers but rather have a predetermined buy/sell rate based on some market parameters.

Unocoin falls in the second category. I operated a similar form of forum exchange a year ago here in the forums.

There is also another type, which is a platform only and do not touch FIAT, e.g. localbitcoins.

You want 0.004BTC per post? Good luck, the best rate I have had was 0.0013BTC and that was when the Signature Campaign payments were at an all time high. Nobody will rent your signature with that price.

Current high is 0.0012BTC

I guess no.
