1241  Economy / Speculation / Re: No More Rocket To The Moon Ever on: September 25, 2015, 08:56:23 PM
No more rocket fuel to the moon or not, still there is a lot of money to be made just by staying in bitcoins. Also, it is not surprising that we are not actually going up price-wise. Big investors and companies only put their money in the block chain technology, and not the cryptocurrency itself. If that happens, then we might even see even a glimpse of the moon that all of us wanted to see.

people here still think we'll see huge peaks like in 2012, 2013, 2014, but these peaks won't come back as traders don't react to news anymore. can't think of anything realistic that will make the price jump considerably right now. we need to have patience.

Forget your coins until retirement will be a good strategy.

Not a bear myself, and I'm also trying to be optimistic but with the stagnation in the markets and no more new people trying to build business around here, we probably can't see another $1k range sooner unless a new Willy bot is created and help us to get there. Also, I'm not the kind of person that checks out bitcoin prices several times a day. I don't care much about the price, really. I'm here because I want to learn deeper into several aspects of economics, technology and cryptography. Earning because if bitcoins is just a bonus. Smiley

If your in it for the sake of economics, technology, and cryptography; I would suggest you merge a percentage of your coins to a couple of alts that offer "newer" technology.  Examples would be Monero, Litecoin, and Etherum... These coins, imo, have the most potential to create a new type of market and offer users more options on how they go about buying things online.  Plus, because they are at a very cheap price, it won't hurt you as much if the coin itself goes flatline and becomes worthless.
1242  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: September 25, 2015, 08:51:47 PM
the main strategy is to buy bitcoins and sell it for bigger price in the future

Its Trading! And trading involves risk. You might make big profit or a big loss. Whales control the market Cheesy Keep some whales within touch and ask them if its the right time to buy or sell Tongue

But I am too excited to see the change in the price after the next halving.

And my opinion on getting rich is "think of constructive, innovative and creative ideas." . This will make you a billionaire. For instance, see snapchat. If anyone previously used such creativity and developed such application(You can always hire coders if you don't know how to code but "creativity" is what matters Wink ), then their life would be set already Smiley

I seem to have a couple of good ideas in mind, but the problem for me is that I don't know any coders personally... and I honestly don't trust some of the coders that are for hire on this forum either.  I wish I could sit at home and learn how to code to have my own ideas come to life, but I guess I need to run into someone who shares the same ideas as me and just so happens to know how to code.

And to get back to the topic of trading, I completely agree that it is nice to know some "whales"... but in all honesty that's not a very likely scenario just to happen to know a "whale" in the world of bitcoin.  I think if you were buying bitcoin right now for the purpose of trading purposes, and to wait to sell at a higher price point; I would recommend buying a couple sets of physical coins to store your hard earned bitcoin.  So for one, you can sell off the amount of bitcoin that is on the coin itself... but the increase of interest and value to the physical coin itself could be a multiplier factor in terms of selling in the future.
1243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: September 25, 2015, 08:44:27 PM
What if I told you that you could earn 1 BTC per hour?

There are a lot of opportunities in Bitcoin for people with knowledge and skills.

Otherwise, instead of faucets you'll have more fun playing Chopcoin.io which awards 5000 Satoshi if you win. Games take 10 minutes. I'm not sure how that compares to hitting a bunch of faucets, but once you get good you can play it for high stakes. It's not quite gambling due to the amount of skill involved. I wrote a Chopcoin guide if you're interested.

I would be highly impressed if you win 1BTC per hour on chopcoin...  I tried playing chopcoin once, but there were no players on there at the time... so I didn't think people were interested in it at all.  I guess I'll go check out that site again sometime soon to see how many players are on there now.
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: September 25, 2015, 06:01:11 PM
If you are male, have no skills, but have good looks you can try donating to a sperm bank and using the payment to buy BTC. Should take you less than an hour each time.

That's great advice, he could live for a month by do it once every month
In china, by donating 0.57 ounce sample of sperm, you could earn $943 Shocked

But, you also earn that much from gambling or signature campaign too

wow, does 16 gram really worth $943. it is hard to believe that it is worth that much. Smiley
and what is with the good looks, i thought the donation was anonymous!

If you guys are really desperate as to donate sperm for cash to buy bitcoins, there's another option for those that have a sickening feeling as to strangers having your babies...

I know that in my area there are blood donation centers that pay you $50 to donate blood plasma every month or two.
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any Bitcoin accepted Store around you? on: September 25, 2015, 01:18:06 PM
After I read your thread I tried to search for near places to me that accept bitcoin on blockchain app
But I did not find a single place in my whole country and the nearest restaurant to me is in Greece

Well to be honest, I was very surprised that there was any place in my state that accepted bitcoins... because of the fact that I live in one of the most conservative states in the bible belt of the US.  To be honest, most of the people around this part of the country who have heard of the bitcoin phenomena, associates it with the "rapture"; and essentially think that it if bitcoin were to be the actual new way of payment, that jesus's second coming would come and the world will end.

So yeah, you could say I'm a minority when it comes to delving in the world of bitcoin.
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Caelus; We will send a bitcoin satellite to space! (Join Us!) on: September 25, 2015, 01:09:32 PM
How will these puppies be protected from debris flying at a couple of million miles per second through that thing? Or is the size so small that luck should take care of this?

First they're very very small, and the chance of getting hit by debris is very slim, considering how Huge the different spheres are, also when NASA or companies do drop of these cubists into orbit, they often choose a so called ''Debres free zone'' which also lowers the risk of the cubist getting hit.

Have you considered trying to contact Silicon Valley with these plans, as well as contacting NASA yet?  I know NASA would be interested, just to generate some extra revenue by putting another satellite in orbit... but I think Silicon Valley is really started to get into the block chain technology and bitcoin in general.  They might be able to really be a big player in contributions and the development aspect.
1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: September 25, 2015, 01:06:56 PM
I would just suggest that you get an actual job whether it be an easy part time job or an actual job, and set aside in your budget $1 for each hour you work to be put into purchasing bitcoins.  At this time, I would think this would be the easiest way to attain bitcoins without having to earn say $.001 an hour enduring faucets and the like.  There is no new online jobs that really offer you to earn bitcoins per hour, unless you are a web developer or something like that.
1248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any Bitcoin accepted Store around you? on: September 25, 2015, 12:51:21 PM
The only place that accepts bitcoins is a couple of jewelry warehouses the next city down from me.  Good to know for me since I am probably going to propose to my girlfriend here in the next couple of years, so I'm saving up a good amount of bitcoins for the cause Grin
1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: September 25, 2015, 12:23:27 PM
I recommended bitcoin to two friends last week. They said that bitcoin were interesting so they wanted to start learning about bitcoin from this forum. I introduced faucet and bitcointalk to them so they can learn about bitcoin from beginning.

Awesome, you probably did them a huge favor introducing them here and to Bitcoin in general when bitcoins prices are so low. And not to mention on this forum there are other topics being discussed like politics, the economy, etc. I think ever since I joined it gave me a broader view of everything in general and allowed me to start looking at an issue from both sides of the spectrum. I don't know if that was just for me kind of thing.. But in general it got me to start thinking outside the box on some things.
1250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Internet early stage on: September 25, 2015, 12:11:03 PM
I hear this comparison a lot and also that bitcoin is just the first application like email was in the early internet. The problem is that email "still sucks" in 2015. Hopefully we can learn from previous mistakes.

If one day we are seing the same numbers of people using Bitcoin as the use email, it can suck as much as it wants to be honest.
In 2011there existed probably 3,1 billion email accounts and at the end of this year it is expected to be 4,1 billion accounts.
Damn! I want those numbers for Bitcoin!

Only way that would be possible is if major businesses will give their employees the option of being paid out in Bitcoin/and or start accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment... This is going to be a long process, because of the fact that businesses don't want to accept a payment that is notorious for having such volatile prices and purchasing power. I feel if bitcoins prices hit a major point of stability, then we will start to see businesses start to accept the payment, and therefore mass adoption.
1251  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: September 25, 2015, 11:47:21 AM
Starting a business. I think is one of best ways to get Rich

Just by starting business you can't become rich but you should have good knowledge about you product and need to put more efforts to make your business successful and you also need some luck to become rich. So becoming rich is not very easy task.
agree but if you just have base knowledge it's not enough to start own business, you need money to started your own business. rich or not it's all back to you how to have good management

For business to success money is not only the factor but one should have a dedication to make it success.

Yes, to get success in your business one need a ability to think, analyse and decide is the key determining factor of your profitability. And business success is tight financial controls and good budgeting. Apart from all these knowledge you also need some kind of luck to success in any new venture.

I think that to be successful in one business it is important to be the right time in the right place, to have the money (I don't like to money of the banks) and to have the unique idea which must be elaborated and materializes. Then needed luck to be sold (except the times when the product is to good and can be sold itself).

I think it's pretty safe to say that in order to not only to have a successful business, you not only need a stellar new product to offer the public, but you need a team of partners who will invest with you, and if you can't engineer the product yourself, know someone who can engineer it for you with his share of the cut. To have that one product that really changes how everybody does something is filling a niche that hasn't been filled before... And in order to do that, you really need to be thinking outside the box when it comes to you constructing ideas.
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 23, 2015, 11:49:03 AM
... I feel like a majority of the public (sadly) don't and wouldn't really care if their transactions are public...

They will certainly care when merchants stop accepting their non-fungible bitcoins because some algorithm determines they're tainted. Privacy is hardly the issue.

Money that isn't fungible will eventually cannibalize itself.

It hasnt stopped bitcoin to be #1 cryptocurrency. And most people even dont know what fungability means. I myself, for example, have never heard about such a term before getting interested in crypto. Good luck expalining this to people who just want to use crypto, rather than go and read bitcointalk forums, or r/monero or any other such website.

Just because they don't know the word or never hear it is irrelevant as it is all around us everyday. If people accept your fiat paper in a fungible manner (they don't care where it came from) it does matter if one day you went to the grocery store and because your fiat paper has certain serial number on them (making them tainted) they say "sorry sir, we can't accept your money as it was tied to a murder". Many people, including myself, would be pissed and lose faith in the currency if that happened over and over and you cant spend your tainted currency anywhere.

People understand fungibility when it disallows them to spend their currency. The word does not matter and neither does the fact that people don't know the word...they know "I want to spend my fiat/currency and if not I will blow a gasket and lose faith in using that currency".

Do banks still have those "booby trap" bags that hold money in case a robber comes in to steal money, the bag will like explode ink all over the bills when the robber pulls them out of the bag when he got home? I can't remember if they still do that or not, but that is the closest example in this case to coins being tainted. And when you see that red ink splatter on the note, no one will accept the bill itself and have lost faith that they will be able to redeem that dollar for any goods or service... Same applies to Bitcoin in some way or another... The block chain is like a built in "booby trap" for sketchy dealings or people stealing coins.
1253  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: HonestDoubler.com - GAME OVER on: September 23, 2015, 04:13:07 AM
You guys need to move on. OP is already gone. Maybe it's time to leave this thread alone? Grin
OP isn't "gone", but the site is gone. He said that they are working on a new site but it might not be here in the near future.

Lol why would you want, or would anyone want to know if that scam is making another doubler... Even if he proves he's the real HD or uses his same account and just creates HD 2.0 , why would you play it? I have trust that he'll leave it up for a couple weeks then cash out, but I don't believe he'll take suggestions on how to properly run it for a long run campaign...

Hey Stars,

I don't know if you saw my post from a couple days ago, but what is the official time for cut off each week?
1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Realistically does bitcoin have any competition ? on: September 23, 2015, 01:40:43 AM
I liked this blog post http://tpbit.blogspot.ca/2015/09/the-dawn-of-great-crypto-extinction-and.html ... Copy-coins themselves aren't much competition although some of them do have community (Dogecoin) and good dev teams / adoption (Litecoin). Crypto2.0 coins do offer more competition like Ethereum and Ripple which go beyond the original code base.

Isn't Ripple supposed to be what Monero was based off of? If I'm not mistaken I remember reading that Ripple was supposed to be the first of the "cryptonote" coins to come out.  I haven't even done much research on the alts because I'm lazy and want to stick to talking about something that I know a little more about like bitcoin in general.

1257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In your own words: What is the purpose of Bitcoin? on: September 23, 2015, 01:08:33 AM
There are really lots of potentials in bitcoin. Its just somehow being ignored by others base on their regulation, society, etc... Anyways it is still early days. Let see what the future will bring.

Well if you think about it, the baby boomer generation is still going strong right now which means they are still pretty set in their ways of thinking.  I believe once it becomes the millennials turn to start governing the policies of nations, I think that it will become a better place to live.  This is including our financial system, since a majority of young adults my age believe that the central private banks are completely corrupt (at least a large majority of my friends think so anyways, don't know how that holds up to everyone, nor maybe a majority of them even care).

Quote
I think the developers purpose is just a peer to peer decentralize money. Don't know if he intentionally create it for other stuff the are really amazing.

I think this is probably Satoshi's main policy of creating bitcoin.  I think he really saw the true value of having a decentralized, limited currency; but at the same time I bet he wondered how we can use this sort of thing without having to rely on gold, since it can't be physically transferred over the internet without having to use fiat for payouts.  This reasoning is why bitcoin is so intriguing to people (or at least it is for me)... I believe bitcoin is going to have it's ups and downs for a while, but in the next 10 or 15 years when people of this younger generation becomes the leaders of society... it would be fully adopted and allow it to be used in its full purpose.

That's not to say there is going to be some incredibly dire times ahead of us, because when this movement ultimately happens, there will be an all out war between the private banks and the armies/government they control between the citizens they rule.
1258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 22, 2015, 04:16:19 AM
So what exactly makes you positive that monero will be X10 the value of Bitcoin over the years? I feel like a majority of the public (sadly) don't and wouldn't really care if their transactions are public... I know a large minority would, but the majority would prefer their transactions to be as quick and painless as possible, while forfeiting their anonymity.
1259  Economy / Collectibles / Re: PHYSICAL COPY - A Complete Guide to Physical Bitcoins - [25/100] reserved on: September 22, 2015, 02:52:12 AM
I hope you sell a lot of these books. I think the physical crypto coin market will just continue to get stronger and stronger. Are you going to be signing the first editions of these books?

I will sign each of the 1st edition books.

So when is the deadline for the release of these books?? Or will it just be waiting until the max reserve spots of 100 get placed?

The deadline I have made for myself is that this book will be completed in 2015, which means December. Once the book is ready, it will go to print; I am not waiting on any particular number, though I did say earlier that I needed atleast 25 (which I now have). Anything more up to 100 is ofcourse nice Smiley
If for example the book is completed in mid November with 32 reservations, then so it shall be. I might of course print a few more to sell later (up to 100 total) if I want to, but we will see.

So all the books reserved now will be signed? Not just the first 25?
