You can do this easily with blockchain.info's API. Checkout their documentation and scroll down to "Single Address": https://blockchain.info/api/blockchain_api https://blockchain.info/address/$bitcoin_address?format=json Using this you can get the balance in JSON format and parse it with PHP. //Declare an address as a variable $btc_address = "1J9ikqFuwrzPbczsDkquA9uVYeq6dEehsj";
//Get the balance using blockchaininfo API $addr_url = "https://blockchain.info/address/$btc_address?format=json"; $json_addr = json_decode(file_get_contents($addr_url), true); $balance = $json_addr["final_balance"];
//Display the balance on the screen in satoshis echo $balance;
//Display on the screen as bitcoins $con_bal = $balance / 100000000; echo "<br>". $con_bal;

D'Angelo puts together some great videos with his blackboard series. They are definitely worth watching, even for non-beginners.

>50% troll posts a page. the good old times are back.
yeap, we are 5 % closer to the double digits, trolls talking about 300 on a 4 $ bounce... same old same old. Oh so now the trolls are the bitcoin enthusiasts on a bitcoin enthusiast forum? Huh... funny how that works out. Anyways I bought a heap of cheap coins early this week, should have waited until today, but oh well. It won't matter when the next bull run initiates.

Does anyone think the US will allow any open Bitcoin transactions when this happens? When the US dollar crashes. "the US will be prepared ahead of time with a new, electronic currency. This will serve three purposes: It will allow the US government to blame paper currencies for the crash, in order to distract the public from recognising that the government itself is the culprit. It will allow the US government to create a currency system that disallows the holding of tradable currency by the population—that is, a debit card would be created by banks through which all transactions must pass, assuring that all transactions are processed by (and thereby subject to the control of) a bank. It will allow the US government to have knowledge of every penny earned and spent by any individual or organization, allowing for direct-debit income taxation." http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-04-25/what-will-happen-you-when-dollar-collapsesPersonally, ZH.com is hard to take seriously. They are heavily biased and fringe conspiracy theory.

Hey steers, dont you see chinese green dildo from their bots - go long, its a moon time, you must have a reflex for your chinese rulers, lawl
UPD: oh yeah, they are following their pied piper and will get rekt again, silly steers never learn...
OH yea I see it. Even with shorts at an all time high you bears can't hold down the price. This is going to be funny!
|

The bears are euphoric. For 15 months, they short and profit. It's now planted in their head that bitcoin can only go down. All you have to do is short and you'll make money just look at these patterns (insert chart with RSI and MACD indicators circled).Past performance does not guarantee future performance. Everything that attracted people to bitcoin is still there, the protocol is not broken. When this turns around the bears will short because they've been accustomed to short = profit which will only feed the fire of the next bull run. See y'all at 4 figures

I want to start investing and was wondering what happens if investment is not 100% funded after expiration date? Also for a loan say repaid in 60 days does the count down for repayment starts as soon as i invested? bit confused because borrower say they will repay the first of the month so if i invest today borrower would repay me in a week? What does NAR stasnds for? Some borrower say for instance "will fund at 70%" what does this mean? BTCjam says % of loan repaid is 90% does it means 10% of people scam? how can they get away with it? I just discovered this site ,i like the concept but there is a lot of things unclearif any one can answer my questions i would appreciate ,thanks
I like BTCjam. I haven't used them in a few months, but I've done a good amount of investing and I did one borrow. 1) what happens if investment is not 100% funded after expiration date? Then the listing will be dropped and the borrower can re-post their loan request.2) does the count down for repayment starts as soon as i invested? Repayment starts from the day the loan is funded, not your investment date. 3) borrower say they will repay the first of the month so if i invest today borrower would repay me in a week? Some people do weekly payments, some pay monthly. If they say they'll pay at the 1st of the month and the loan is funded today, yes you will get your first payment in a week.4) what does NAR stand for? Not sure where do you see NAR?5) Some borrower say for instance "will fund at 70%" what does this mean? This means 100% funding is not required. If the listing expires and they hit 71% funding, but not 100%, then the loan will still commence. 6) BTCjam says % of loan repaid is 90% does it means 10% of people scam? There were a lot of scammers when they first started, but they have beefed up their collection efforts especially for borrowers within the US. There are still scammers on there.Lending and credit review is what I do for a living, so it's fun to do it with my own money sometimes. I've had two loans go bad on BTCjam, but I still came out with a decent profit from all my good loans. Don't invest all in one person, spread it around to mitigate risk. Good luck!

Miners would be shooting themselves in the foot. They make money from their expensive hardware and operations by selling/trading/hoarding bitcoin. If 50%+ started a blacklist then the value would most certainly plummet and the miners would no longer have a stream of revenue. The system is set up to incentivize everyone to play fair.

Why you bullsters always try to mock the smart guys? 15% without leverage... LOL, I still sand by that meme. No regrets. No problem. But you should admit that your friend is a lot smarter than you - even when he´s stoned. I'll admit that I can't predict the future and neither can that stoner that wears furry coats He was merely a little luckier than I.

I see some new pretty hip looking sigs out there. When do we get the code for the new sigs?
|

I drew some lines on my chart last night, and I still feel pretty good that support is holding. We barely broke below $215 which has been holding for a while, next stop after that is ~$190. I did make a decent size purchase on Monday so it sucks to watch the price fall, but I'm in it for the long haul gathering all the low hanging fruit while I can.

People at localbitcoins are posting "scam confirmed". Pretty sure they are just shorters talking their book.
|
|
|
800 BTC hardly seems enough for an exit scam. Localbitcoins has been going for years, sounds like a legit tech issue, or at worst a hack, but exit scam no way doesn't make sense.

Wow look at that fall... Finex is going sub $220 soon!

Judgment, yes. You can sue anyone for just about anything, the question is whether that suit would be upheld by the court. My guess is any judge with half a brain would dismiss the case immediately. If someone sold me their house for a bunch of AOL stock in 1997, why would it be my fault if their speculative investment didn't work out? Now if I was a big player at AOL and knew the stock was about to crash in a few weeks and used it to buy something from someone, well then that would be a different story.
