1281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain.info API and mysterious transaction modification? (lost BTC) on: April 08, 2013, 08:14:21 PM
I think you're reasoning here is wrong....

You sent the coins to 1GfxJgs8FU6JrKFJFALT3PZxgv9VR7UXnL and they're there.  That's the address they went to, the other address you listed has nothing to do with this transactions.  Both of those address may be part of the same wallet, but that doesn't mean that the coins will move from one to another.

From what I see the coins are sitting in the right place.

1283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is with the mainstream media and Bitcoin? on: April 06, 2013, 05:06:00 PM

the usual FUD campaign because f*****g Bernanke is going down for good.

Bernanke - last head of FED in history.

From reading your posts you have some interesting views...

Bitcoin =\= FED going away

@OP

The newbie section isn't for loan requests.  You posting in there makes me think you're a scammer, will be watching just in case.
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Ixcoin - a new Bitcoin fork on: April 04, 2013, 07:18:02 PM
I'm looking into the ixc thing. http://www.ixcoin.org/ is so shady, yet has OSX client which does not exist on the pp and terra thing, nice !

However, I'm seeing 0 connections, 0 blocks, 0 transactions, forever. Looks like the network bootstrap is broken, or my client is outdated ??

**crap, noticed that the osx version is behind other versions (Mac OS X unverified 0.3.24.2 only) is that the problem ??

Because it's dead.

@GoldenAngel

Start self moderated topics from now on, then you can do whatever you want.

Coinbase takes a few days to go through, they do an ACH transfer not a wire.  Once you buy it's locked in, you just don't get the coins for a few days.

Could escrow services help this?

Unlikely, transactions through escrow could still be reversed.
1289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins not arrived in wallet... on: April 03, 2013, 11:12:23 PM
Wow thanks tysat
all I had to do was "reset blockchain" on my wallet and they magically appeared. What a relief...

Good tip for the future, if you can see it on blockexplorer then it's been confirmed at least once.
1290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 19 hours and still no confirmations on: April 03, 2013, 11:10:57 PM
Is there anyway to add a fee to that transaction so it can be "pushed" somehow?

I don't believe so, but I'm not well versed in the super technical aspects of bitcoin.  There's not an easy way to do it.
1291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please explain how TX ID results in "No such transaction" on blockexplorer.com? on: April 03, 2013, 09:01:48 PM
I'm also waiting for a confirmation for a long time... btw. what happens if no one confirms that transaction ever?

0 fee, it's going to take some time
1292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins not arrived in wallet... on: April 03, 2013, 08:56:47 PM
Sorry if I seem daft but I'm new at this...
I recently acquired some bitcoins on bitstamp.net which I then sent to my wallet (multibit), thing is they never arrived. I looked up the address I sent it to on blockexplorer - http://blockexplorer.com/address/1HEwRtfwCiebVxGP2HsffxKexF3HGdong8 - and the transaction is listed but I dont know enough to understand much of the info there. I don't understand why they've not arrived in my wallet, it's been over 24h, any ideas please???

Does your wallet have the complete blockchain downloaded?

I recently had a small transaction take a month to go through.

The key is the transaction fee that you're willing to pay (setting in your wallet program). If it is too small, it can take a long time for the transaction to be viewed by "peers", which is the process by which it is validated.

Transaction fees don't apply in this situation as it's already been confirmed in a block.
1293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Soooo hard to invest in this?! on: April 03, 2013, 08:51:30 PM
coinbase is pretty solid, haven't had any issues there
1294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please explain how TX ID results in "No such transaction" on blockexplorer.com? on: April 03, 2013, 08:48:44 PM
I'm guessing it was delayed due to the issues MtGox has had today (DDoS I think?)...

https://blockchain.info/tx/bd4dbb5ba45770b34c60210cb58afa9fca2d186dd7aac62c02e0886e8d71a2a3

The transaction is showing up now on blockchain.info, it didn't earlier when I first posted.  I've got no idea how the green addresses actually work, so who knows when it'll actually be confirmed.

Blockexplorer only shows confirmed transactions, as it scans the blockchain to get it's information.

That showed up as the first search result when I searched "ASICMINER-PT".

It offers a new beginning. It has already minted in 48 hrs what took bitcoin 4 months.

So it's just for people who are upset they didn't get into bitcoin earlier?
1299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 19 hours and still no confirmations on: April 03, 2013, 08:10:38 PM
looks like small transaction fees need to part of the process if you want it done fast.

Yup, that's how bitcoin works.
1300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offering PayPal for Bitcoin? You're likely to be labeled a scammer - Read why on: April 03, 2013, 08:05:58 PM
You WILL get scammed eventually... it's not even a matter of "if".

That's a little harsh, if you play it safe you won't.  I haven't been scammed.
