1282  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Are you building the next gen bitcoin ATMs? on: March 23, 2014, 06:02:59 PM
What are "the next gen bitcoin ATMs"? Haven't heard about them.

Next generation ATMs that are currently in development. Has nothing to do with what they are.
1283  Economy / Services / Re: Selling exchange source code on: March 23, 2014, 06:19:59 AM
Yeah those random variables don't work really... I can tell what most of your variables are for.

I think I found the same security bug as the guy above me and another minor one, but these could lead to a hot wallet attacks with a couple of the right chained attacks.

I will not disclose it since people shouldn't be using drop in exchange software Wink

1284  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] FrozenBit- Changing the Landscape Of Bitcoin Payments and Security on: March 23, 2014, 05:48:57 AM
That puts it in a category of protection, as companies trading options or derivatives don't hold to commodity centrally they have a broker, or separate bank or service hold their assets knowing they can DO MORE TO PROTECT them.

Yes but those services all have legal contracts and follow strict rules to hold those commodities. Also I have work with hedge funds to secure their bitcoin holdings and while legally I can't comment how I did it or what software was used. They didn't rely on a company they knew that wasn't how bitcoin works.
1285  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] FrozenBit- Changing the Landscape Of Bitcoin Payments and Security on: March 23, 2014, 05:31:53 AM
I get that this probably isn't as useful for regular bit coin users but for companies this service could be invaluable!

Hold on cowboy, as someone that has worked in the security sector of bitcoin, you are very wrong. Companies treat bitcoins as assets. It would be like holding gold or a reverse of oil. Companies are extremely protective of assets. So before you go "This is great for companies!" find me one company that would hand over their holding of bitcoins? Because companies that hold bitcoins are holding at least $100K and that is a conservative estimate.

Also because someone says they are taking that precaution doesn't mean they are. They don't have any independent auditor saying they do, so we can't take them at their word.

While you don't take risk of theft from the hotwallet, what if this company does a run? Who do I report them to? Or if they aren't even in the United States, now I can't take any actions. They haven't release who they are and that is another reason no one will use them.

1286  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: FrozenBit- A New Take On Cold Storage on: March 23, 2014, 04:04:24 AM
I want to see what the site looks like, but first I have to agree with DeathAndTaxes, just because Xapo got $20 million to built a fancy frontend to vault don't get caught up in that. Bitcoins can be easily secured by one's self. We don't need companies to hold on to them for us.
1287  Other / New forum software / Re: Concerned about Slickage Studios split from: Concern about the "Forum Credit" idea on: March 23, 2014, 03:44:48 AM
I am more concerned with an unknown web dev firm, who doesn't even have their own website, getting the contract. It's obvious there's some favoritism going on once again. You can't even find a single project they have completed, and they get the forum's coins for the project? You say you want to move towards something other than VB,SMF,etc then hire a complete novice to code it. It's really quite amazing.

Be honest, who are these people to you? How do you know them?

They are friends of friends of online friends that theymos has. Why doesn't that work for you?

Why an ad auction system cost $350K and needs access to the forum database?
Why is said ad auction system not built yet?
Why is their no transparency in in money exchanging hands?
Where is your portfolio of work?
1289  Other / Off-topic / What drives you everyday to work harder? on: March 23, 2014, 03:34:19 AM
1st grade, I was tested for dyslexia, I didn't have it, I guess I was just dumb in the 1st grade.

4th grade being made to go to this extra learning class, and the teacher then blaming my parents as to why I was not able to speak correctly. << This right here personally drives me to be a better speaker and to be honest I have done a lot of public speaking flawlessly.

Every girl that told me that I was not worth their time. (Actually I got revenge for one of these chicks when I was at the most expensive restaurant in my town, and picked up the over $2500 bill she was a waitress there and couldn't believe it. Then she called me back the next day, it only took 6 years)

I also remember the great times working in wall street as an intern, up at 5am, at work by 7am then 12 hours being called a moron and a retard and getting $500 for the whole summer while they make millions. Also if you want to know, wolf of wall street is actually makes these people look like saints. They are the same people that drive a bentley, brag about hooking up with the new girl who is a 22yr just fresh out of college in the back seat, making his maid clean up the back seat and being home in time to have dinner with his family. This I have to personally thank bitcoin and satoshi cause without that I be a 24yr algo trader making these people millions.

These are some of the reasons why I get up everyday and build my startup, answer emails and grow my wealth. Even if most of these people are death or don't know about my wealth, I still think about how I am winning against what they thought I would ever succeed in doing.

1291  Other / Meta / Re: Unwatch topic not working? on: March 23, 2014, 02:04:35 AM
is the unwatch topic button not working? when i go to a thread and hit unwatch, it still shows up under new replies to your posts? is this normal or is it broken? thanks

This is normal behaviour.  Unwatch takes the thread off your Watchlist, but it does not take it off Show new replies to your posts.  For this reason, I only use the Watchlist.

ok thanks for clearing that up! is there a way to remove it from show new replies to post?

No use the watch list as your master thread viewer.

If your partner shouldnt they get the service free for showcasing?

Yes you would get a free month. Plus I have a lot of media things I will be doing so your name will be mentioned with that.

I can't give life of the service free because I am using a lot of my contacts and favors to build up my service which would build up the partner service as well. So they are already getting a great deal in turn for this.

I guess this is over? I don't receive a satoshi on my 5 BTC deposit in months.

They took their machines off line cause it was costing more than it was making and they have asic which should be going on line soon.

1298  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: March 20, 2014, 06:20:35 PM
Trezor has a screen, and the payment protocol (BIP 70) provides PKI signing, so you see real identities instead of addresses.

Don't get too full of yourselves yet it was just release we haven't had a hacker get into a CA yet and take a bitcoin business' private key yet. They should have PGP keys and we could have sent keys thru the bitcoind, making each node a keyserver, that can be checked against X number of nodes.
1299  Other / Meta / Re: Questions to theymos about the $1,000,000 forum software project on: March 19, 2014, 08:42:44 PM
Why don't we have the automated ad auction system, yet? It's so trivial for a 350k$ team that there is no excuse.

I could do it in a weekend for $25/hr. Just saying.

Maybe not if you're thinking of using PHP?

Theymos stated that PHP now sucks??

...
The most popular forum software is:
- Old.
- Written in PHP, which sucks.
- Written insecurely and messily.
- Difficult to modify, especially safely.
- Not much more featureful than SMF, if at all.
...

I think PHP5 is pretty nice and very clean for scaleable and future-proof systems provided proper OOP structure is used?

I actually know nodejs, I just don't like it. I only work with languages that I enjoy. I could write it in C++ if wanted me to for $350K.

Theymos PM lets get this thing rolling.
1300  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Fate of Satoshi, a Bitcoin graphic adventure [BUY thread] [CrowdF + Equity] on: March 18, 2014, 07:13:42 PM
I completely trust Gweedo and would like if you could clarify your statement.

Are we all supposed to contact Gweedo and opt-out ?

I would prefer to stay as a part of this plan and should I opt out and then re-buy via some other payment method or should I simply keep my payment with Gweedo ?

However long this takes , it is a good venture and I would love to support it.

Thanks

Jambola2

If you want to opt-out you can and I rather you post it in this thread so A) it is transparent of whom left and B) makes it easy for me to see who I need to process.
Otherwise you can stay in and I still have your coins until voodah comes up with the other plans and you guys will have a chance after that to opt-out again.

Also as my escrow is held in a very different way from my other funds it takes a while to scan and do transactions. Sorry about the delay but security over time is what I am dealing with.
