hmm j/w if it is true that the server was sold before the lease agreement is up. bc in that instant your BitVPS Policy - # We are not liable for any damage or loss of data. All clients are responsible for the backup of their data. would be null and void since you broke the lease contract. at least that is how it would play out in a court.

Where'd that come from? Was that a posting somewhere that I missed?  If it wasn't, how would you know anything about it unless either Goat or RG said something?

The story I am being told is RG's data center resold my server despite having time left. I am waiting for him to post in this thread with more details.

You're right, I got distracted by the other bit.

Edit:  See how hard that was.. admitting when you're wrong... oh wait, it wasn't.  Too bad others can't do that.

You are extremely difficult to work with.

Careful, he might put you on the ignore list too.
1304  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [102% TESTING] I want your hashing power! "Project #2" on: April 28, 2012, 04:06:18 PM
I smell a double standard here.
imsaguy are you holding gpumax to the same standard as Goat? I might have missed it, but I dont see you rave about stats and purchases and payments being late on gpumax.

I dont think Im known as Goats biggest fan but unfortunate things happen and so far, Goat is being entirely reasonable about this IMO.

I don't have stats from gpumax, but I've gotten paid.  gpumax isn't blaming their hosting for the failed harddrive.  They're taking ownership and working around it/through it.
1305  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [102% TESTING] I want your hashing power! "Project #2" on: April 28, 2012, 03:57:24 PM
It's one freaking day worth of payouts. Chomping at the bit is not going to get this done any faster. It's not like the crack dealer closed up shop.

Due to the timing, its two.  I'm just trying to figure out when RG's gonna stop being the excuse and Chaang finally takes ownership of this.  I don't dispute that RG's DC screwed things up, but at some point, Chaang's ultimately responsible.

RG did talk to me on IRC just now and says he will talk with me assuming the other guy gives him permission. So we will wait for that.

Also Imsaguy, FYI you are no longer allowed to work with me on anything in anyway. If you do so in the future I will not respond to you.

RG has his "policy" and he is sticking with it.

So basically still pointing the finger instead of taking ownership.  Well done.  I also see you failed to answer my question from way back when.. when's your last backup?

So what if RG can't recover data?  What's the plan B?

we have two ideas for plan B.. lets wait for RG then we can talk about them (assuming he fails). thanks

What's the timeline on that?

Yes, we have back up but we do not have them run after every share submitted. What we can do is find the most recent average of who got what percent and then take the 135% PPS and send that out. No it will not be perfect but if RG pays the 135% no one should lose money. We know exactly how much BTC we brought in.

We are just waiting for RG to let us know if there is a shot of bring the site back online or getting back that data.

If you have any other ideas I am all ears.

Thanks.

I'm not saying backup after every share, but backing up twice a week isn't enough. (notice how you didn't actually answer how often you back up?)  Even every 24 hours would have documented half of what I'm due.  You were having payout issues even before the server finally went offline.  Payments would show as pending for hours until some prodding went on and something happened behind the scenes.  (or do you dispute that?)

Going by averages is going to screw people because GPUMax has been having issues the last few days and at least for me, you're my fallback.  Which means my average is going to be much lower than what I'm actually due, even with a 33% bonus.

Edit: and as a further reply.. the 10+ btc is payments that were to have been sent, not the 'pending' amounts that is shown lower down on the page that grows after shares are submitted.  Obviously the payments bit is an aggregate, I would think that would be a good time to have a save state of some sort.

i highly doubt bitvps wants their name destroyed over this. im sure rg will post here soon and this will be cleared up (assuming service is not restored).

thanks
Have you bothered to call him? Making threats isn't cool.
What threats?

I don't see why anyone is even bothered by this. They don't make pools with zero downtime.

I remember Goat bitching about deserving interest because you couldn't access the funds due to him.  Perhaps I should start demanding the same?

I will give you a 5 btc bounty if you can back that up! If you can't you are just trolling, spreading FUD and no longer welcome in this thread unless you apologize.

Link me to where I "bitched" about personally getting bitcoin because I did not have access to my funds on the forum! You do not remember it because it never happened.

If you are talking about what Nefario claimed go read it in context, same thread. The funds were to give to all of the TyGrr Shareholders as a token of good will from Nefaro and that it was 100% up to him. However I never got the funds and I never complained. I never even took it to the forum. Just because Nefaro posted a line out of context to make himself look less evil does not mean I did what you are now claiming.

Moving on...

RG has supposedly said he will pay 135% PPS for the down time. The story I am being told is RG's data center resold my server despite having time left. I am waiting for him to post in this thread with more details.

imsaguy, you sure are one classy dude. Please do not use my services again if you will keep spreading FUD in my threads. This service is a privilege and not a right.

Shit happens and I am dealing with it the best I can. I would ask you to do the same.

Fine, I take back what I said about interest.  Instead, I'm asking for a token of goodwill from YOU.  After all, shit happens.  Things happen to all service providers, that's why you do backups.  How often were you doing yours?

I stand corrected.  It wasn't "interest", it was a "token of goodwill".

1kg of cocaine on the street is much more than $15k.

False.

Fuck.  I cannot refute your inescapable logic.  I am forced to agree.

you've got male!

In addition, rates are determined by the rates you set, which are weighted by the hash rate you contribute.  If you switch away entirely while there is no public work, you'll get stuck with whatever rates other people have set.

Hm, that's a flaw that should be fixed then Smiley

You seem to have all the answers.. how would you fix this one?
1315  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 25, 2012, 07:34:43 PM
Man, this stinks, its been almost a week since not being able to mine @ gpumax =/
meh...open up da ip's!!!

Tell people to stop picking bad secondary pools.

Offload switching to fallback pools to the miner software wherever possible.
There's just no need to run this through GPUMAX and, as we all know, this is an availability bottleneck.

Except the gpumax proxy typically hears about blocks more quickly than an individual pool since they're plugged into most of the pools.  In addition, rates are determined by the rates you set, which are weighted by the hash rate you contribute.  If you switch away entirely while there is no public work, you'll get stuck with whatever rates other people have set.

Waiting for a report from rg and bitvps. We cant make them respond. This is one if the many reasons why we were going to move to new hosting.

What?  I knew you owed me because the website was showing it... you know, before it went down all of the sudden when I asked about it in channel.  If the only place your wallet exists is on a vps, you're just asking for trouble.
1318  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [102% TESTING] I want your hashing power! "Project #2" on: April 25, 2012, 12:11:38 PM
Meanwhile, you owe me over 10 btc from mining and I've yet to receive it.
1319  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 23, 2012, 06:07:35 PM
I apologize for continuing this offtopic, but I want to express that if someone is constantly posting shit, there is always the ignore button one can make use of. Smiley And that when enough people do that, there will be a nice shade of orange/brown on it, animating others to do the same.

Perhaps so, but the ignore button doesn't block when people quote the target of the block, which means even with a good ignore, you get to read their threadshit.

Dividends went out in a few batches today.  Thanks for your support.

I've looked at many different online workbook places that allow for worksheet sharing, but the privacy controls all suck and essentially everyone could see everything and if that's the way things are going to go, I can do that right here in the forums.  I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and make individual workbooks.  It'll be extra time and energy to maintain but if nothing else, it will motivate me to write something of my own.

Edit: In case you didn't know, I have a farm and I've named it EIEIO.
