1321  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: January 19, 2023, 11:02:07 AM
Failed if we only look at the price perspective. But if we look at the overall situation there maybe it somehow didn't fail since they are still promoting bitcoin on their country and there candidate in miss universe represent them with Bitcoin symbol on their national costume.

Bitcoin take a good spotlight there when Miss El salvador walk in the runway.

For this bringing up on international stage they are damn serious on bitcoin adoption to their country.

In all means El Salvador is trying to keep its growth and provide stage for bitcoin. Maybe in the future El Salvador flag will have bitcoin. In all possible means El Salvador is doing the best to prioritize bitcoin. Some say the country have failed, but the reality is they're with the fighting spirit. Now tourism have experienced success, slowly one by one other sectors too will progress. The small move by the fashion industry to have bitcoin staged too can cause a turn.

The match between Felix Auger Aliassime and Alex Molcan have reached the 5th set in the second round. It looked like an easy win for Felix Auger Aliassime as he won the first two sets. Alex Molcan the No.1 Slovak Player made a come back winning the third and fourth sets. It is the fifth set that decides the winner of the match. Felix Auger Aliassime leads the fifth set 2-1, one by one expected players are making their progress into the further rounds.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 17, 2023, 11:38:44 PM
There wasn't much interest from the broadcasters for WIPL but still, it found the bid for 5 year contract worth close to 1000 cr INR.

Also, Mumbai is hosting the first season, ideally, it should have been all metro cities but it's fine as they are still testing the waters.

Why would you think a 5 year contract of 1000Cr is not good? This is the first WIPL and trust me it is way better than all others league on women cricket. I am suprised you expected more as non of the male based cricket are in level with the initial revenue generated by just suction of the media coverage. In my opinion, such investment shows the future of women cricket & women based sports in India. A long way to go with a lot of initial support. I hope women cricketers around the world recognise the potential of league cricket in india.
This is just simple thing. The IPL media rights for the same tenure of five years is around 50 times higher than the amount that is being concluded for the Women's IPL. IPL have grown high in popularity and WIPL is getting launched out of the IPL popularity. That's why it is said the media rights is low. As you've mentioned this league will be helpful for few number of women cricketers around the world.
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I be worried? on: January 16, 2023, 11:59:52 PM
Keep yourself pushing on the learning process. Never get into a conclusion for that what you've done hadn't brought success. Nothing to worry when you're in a market that is highly technology dependent. You need to understand and make yourself get adopted to it. This will surely bring success than switching yourself from one thing to the other.
Learn out of everything. When you have the proper understanding you'll handle things with different approach. Just because your expectations doesn't coincide with the reality never find it wrong in you. As said, being technology dependent things can take a big change in no time. Keep on learning will let you do the right thing.

It is not easy to get a reliable captain like Dhoni in Indian cricket. Although I know that the Indian team is still a very strong team in the cricket world. There are also many good players outside of the national team. But it will take time to find someone like Dhoni. KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli are all good performers, but they are not yet qualified to captain like Dhoni. I consider Dhani is the best captain ever.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India's best captain of all time, not only captained well in all formats, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni was an ideal genius for the whole of cricket. I have seen many of his captaincy in the national team and one thing that has always stood out in him is great discipline. His fielding arrangements were outstanding, almost many matches were turned into success by Dhoni's performance. In a match between Bangladesh and India, India won that day only because of Dhoni's brilliant batting and that was one of my memorable moments between India and Bangladesh. I have always admired Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy and doubt anyone will get a second spell in India with a captaincy like his.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not only doing well in captaincy also received the man of the match award for many times. He was not behind in international cricket and other domestic leagues. His leadership in any adverse situation of the team was excellent. His presence in the team meant that there was a kind of courage working in every player. He also captained the Chennai Super Kings for a long time in the Indian Premier League and was successful. Need another player like him to lead the Indian national team.
To find a person same as MSD is truly a hard task, but we'll get someone in the long run. For now it is KL Rahul to lead the match and he takes responsibility and plays well. At times his performance looks to be on personal contribution and doesn't look like he's playing for the team. Just think of Sachin Tendulkar, none believed that the records from him to be beaten. Soon those records will be beaten by Kohli, so players keep on emerging better than the other. For now we can't expect someone to lead the team same as MSD.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 16, 2023, 09:37:34 PM
When you've failed emotionally it is impossible to handle your loss. The result comes to an end with the wallet getting emptied. Emotional failure can't be managed by any of the ways, and it is the one through which one gamblers loss huge funds. We should not let our gambling activities have an emotional connect. When you feel you're on the losing streak, just stop and take a break which is the best way.
1327  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the key to your success investing in bitcoin.. on: January 16, 2023, 08:40:52 PM
First of all, you should trust the system and know what you are doing. There are many scams and many have lost coins, so security is important. I think that is the basis to invest in bitcoin and altcoins. While investing you should be active to help other people understand bitcoin. If you follow old posts here from the forum, then often hodln is the easiest way and I think it's good too. Buy some coins and don't panic, more fiat… no thanks.
When you're investing/buying from specific platform it is a must to verify whether you're into the right place. These days people are well targeted and funds were easily taken control by group of users. Getting caught into such kind of traps easily make the person have a negative thought over the market. In reality the market needs to be well analysed. Simple mistakes might keep people away from lifelong usage of cryptocurrencies.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 16, 2023, 03:08:44 PM
I don't think I will get to see any matches live unfortunately. Looking through
the results on both the man's and women's side I don't see any upsets as such on day 1.

Nadal finished strong in that 4th set 6-1. If it was a three set match you would say it was
a close one but alas the 5 set GS is a completely different thing to deal with.

Yeah, if it was a three set match everyone would've thought it to be a close match. In the first set it was a great fight from Nadal as he wasn't able to finish the set within 6 points. In the second set Drapper made good comeback and levelled 1-1. Anyhow it is known Nadal to win the match. The young player gave the best and it is like Drapper's age is the experience of Nadal in tennis. Upcoming days might bring more unexpected results as young players are competing each others.
1329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of the largest US colleges to teach students about bitcoin on: January 16, 2023, 02:54:27 PM
Bitcoin into the curriculum is a must for now, only the education can carry it to the next generation in a perfect way than just happening through practice. Over years the development and spreading have been happening in a better way than the past days. Our forum members are doing the best in spreading the word about bitcoin. Atleast five threads have been found on forum members spreading the word of bitcoin to the people surrounding them. In particular some even have started accepting bitcoin into their businesses.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 15, 2023, 11:58:48 PM
Canada and Mexico will host only 10 games each. USA will host 60! Total of 80 matches for the next World Cup. Probably there will be logistics to not exhaust players when travelling from one place to another.

I didn't know that and doesn't feel fair at all because the ones who will print with that event will be USA while the 3 of them have to spend a lot of money for the event. I think the matches should be split into the same amount of games for each country because doesn't worth making the infrastructure and the conditions in a country only for 10 games. I feel like Mexico and Canada will lose a lot of money with this.
That's fair, for what the countries spend they'll make some revenue. Now it is the USA to make big money out of the event and giving just the name as the host for Mexico and Canada. Anyhow this is gonna cost the countries as well as the people who wish to watch the matches. Because travelling between the countries will surely cost them much and it can't be expected to be the same as the event in Qatar. The best part of Qatar, all levels of people were able to watch the matches due to the affordable cost which won't be possible with the upcoming season.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 15, 2023, 11:55:41 PM
~
The match was just like kids play with pro Grin , so shameful performance for team SiriLanka, they lost Thier confident when they got such a huge target.
If you remember, in the first ODI India scored 373 runs and Sri Lanka in return scored 306 runs, so you cannot simply claim this pathetic performance as the pressure of the target but the pitch itself might be the reason and definitely the bowlers especially Mohammed Siraj even though unfortunately he missed on a 5 wicket haul in the match he ripped the Sri Lankan batting.

We can't say there's no pressure. Sri Lanka had much pressure, looking the big target in front of them. 350 runs and 390 runs have got much difference. Even in the first match Sri Lanka started same as this match, but the scoring from Nissanka kept the match alive and made other players contribute. This time the same didn't work and the bowlers took advantage. It is the bowling that brought such a win for India.
1332  Economy / Economics / Re: Reserve Bank of India Governor Calls for an Outright Crypto Ban on: January 15, 2023, 11:48:49 PM
CBDCs are just fiat that claims to use blockchain technology, but they are fiat. They offer no value more than fiat.

I hope indian government will not be very stupid to leave cryptocurrencies and ban it. The reserve bank of India governor is only self-centered but he is just a single person. Single person can not ban cryptocurrencies when the citizens likes it. He wants ban of what the government sees as a means of getting more tax.

Te reserve bank of India governor see crypto as gambling, he should propose ban of gambling in India too.
That's awesome. India is a big market for gambling industries. More number of gambling platforms have got into existence over the last few years. The pandemic have made way for the development and even after losing of so many lives, the government isn't concerned about making any changes to the gambling platforms.

Everywhere the government want to control the money. In India the government wants tax and they tried all possible ways, but looks like nothing worked as they expected. Maybe that's the reason for such a statement. Even now India's legality on cryptocurrency usage isn't announced. People keep on using just because it is taxed, considering it legal.
1333  Economy / Speculation / Re: what caused bitcoin to go up this january 2023 on: January 15, 2023, 11:43:37 PM
Following what happened to FTX, Bitcoin's price plummeted in November 2022, but it's gradually rebounding now. I believe the main reason for the price increase is the recent release of US inflation data. The recently released inflation data is most likely what encourages investors to gamble by betting on bitcoin. We don't expect the market to move in a straight line; anything can happen, but I expect the bears to hibernate and let the 🐂🐂 begging to take control.
FTX have been made as the reason for the downturn in the market during the year 2022. Along with that more similar incidents happened and even if those incidents haven't happened we could've experienced similar market situations. It is something like a coincidence, if not the same could've been related to something else that happened during that time period. It is the inflation data from the US that have pumped the market. Whether it is long growing or a short term move, it is time to make further plans.
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be banned or stopped by governments on: January 15, 2023, 11:38:48 PM
Indian government (maybe other also)  say that " to ban cryptocurrency we need global help" my question is : can bitcoin be banned if all government will agree to ban bitcoin

i am something less experience and has bad english so ignore
parable of the government and central bank trying to ban cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin.

source >>> google

the government may be able to intervene in cryptocurrency exchange platforms, and centralized altcoins but intervening in bitcoin is an impossibility.  already millions of people who love bitcoin, if you want to turn off bitcoin then the government must restart millions of people's minds Cheesy
In a simple image the reality is well explained. It isn't an easy think as the governments think. Maybe in the early days if they have planned to stop its usage, the governments might've got an opportunity. Now scenario is different and people are well aware of the need and they keep on making loopholes even if something is done outright to stop its usage.
1335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can players bet on their own games on: January 14, 2023, 11:01:32 PM
Professional athletes and sports players weren't allowed to bet on them or upon the game they play. This is done to have them self control, because once they start placing bets on them, it'll be the beginning to play for his/her favour. Finally his game game will be much based on personal financial gain which is not good while representing a team or a country. For this reason professional players weren't allowed to make bets, but these days there are chances of professionals making bets using the anonymous betting opportunities.

One great achievement of Bangladesh women cricket team against Aussie
the Bangladesh women cricket team made a history by defeating Aussie team. NOone talked about women victory - congrats to Bangladesh for great win
A big achievement from Bangladesh Women's team. I've been searching around for the match between Australia Women and Bangladesh Women. To be clear, it was U-19 Women's Worldcup match and Bangladesh Women have won it. Australia Women have won the toss and elected to bat, and made 130 runs losing 5 wickets. Bangladesh women team have reached the target in 18 overs losing 3 wickets which is a big win.
1337  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the $17,000+ bitcoin price breakout benchmark to new price direction on: January 14, 2023, 10:43:57 PM
I saw it hit $21k just now but it was short and sweet, however, I was on the fence as the price suddenly drops to $20,400. So the resistance but now should be in the $21k'ish, as this is the second time that we have attempted that price breach it and then goes down hard again.

It's weekend anyway so let's how its going to be slow and the price will continue to ascend and not go down below $20k because that is a big psychological barrier that we need to reach and then sustain.
It is around there, and the good thing about the situation is that we didn't had just one pump. We reached to 19k levels first and then stopped for a while and then reached to 21k after that once again too. Which is why it's such a big deal, because it means that we have reached to a point where it had 2 big pumps back to back.

This doesn't mean that we are going to end up with a big increase later on neither, maybe it will and maybe it won't but that doesn't change the fact that it will not have anything good coming up, it could have a few more back to back increases like this until the month ends and maybe we will close the month with 30k? That is possible if you ask me.
The price keeps on reaching new barriers. Right now it have touched $21k which is quite big considering its value around $17000. There have been discussions will we experience $20k during the month of January. Myself never believed, because the price has been moving within particular limits without exceeding the margin. Finally breakout have taken place and more investment will flow in, which could keep the market bullish. As mentioned back to back price pumping could take the price higher depending on the positive incidents happening around.
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: January 14, 2023, 10:35:27 PM
Have you checked your BNB right now? I hope you didn't sell yet after two days because right now the price of BNB is better.

BNB is one of the top altcoins, even if there's a fud I still see its future on a good side and with that I'm also planning to increase my holdings even on its current price because this is not a bull run yet and we might see a better price in the next few months.

Don't sold if you don't need the money, there's no better NFTs compare to BNB, I'll still choose it over the other project.
This is the point, if you are worried about the prices and all that, and suddenly the price changes in a much better way, you would regret it. This is why I am a long term investor because having time on my side would mean that I get to do whatever I want to do and not really have to worry about anything at all.

Too many people are worried about the situation we are in and that's a bad thing because we shouldn't really worry about a bear market, we should be hyped about it. You get to buy cheap, and in days like this you get to make a profit and in the end it's going to be even higher when the time comes. This is why it's such an important thing.
I've found out that the more we check on the market price and our portfolio, the more it affects our mindset and even influences our decisions which commonly results in worries. That is why I become seldom check during the bear season and it is because I was confident that I'm investing the right coins. In fact, BNB is still in the top 5 coins in the market which mean that even if the market will drop more, the chance is high to recover as well. Holding them until the bull season comes is not regretting but surely a big reward awaits us.
The market have experienced big recovery. None is sure, whether it is the beginning of the bill run or it is just the bull trap. However the price increase have happened good with the altcoins along with bitcoin. Holding BNB seems to be the right choice. Myself too missed selling all my BNB few months back. If I'm not wrong BNB is one of the coin that is being much manipulated, so watching the market is a must to make the right move.
1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you expect from cryptocurrency? on: January 14, 2023, 10:30:56 PM
I have invested at the wrong time when the price of cryptocurrencies is really very expensive,
of course what I hope is that altcoin prices can return to new ATH again, especially now that I'm currently holding altcoins like Verasity, Crypto.com, and Fantom,
Let's hope that 2023 will be a bullish year for cryptocurrencies.
Cryptocurrencies are like anything else in markets you will never generate endless amount of money. All bull markets will end somewhere and start bear market. In my opinion you should embrace you got from your first ever crypto acquisition. You will do better in next bull runs for sure. Altcoins are going around dip now although I think this year in 2023 we will definitely observe another altcoin run through some altcoins hitting top 10 or 20. Your altcoins are not bad coins by the way but I wouldn't hold them nowadays.
Right now the market have begun to move same as that of the traditional ones. When there is bull market, the same gets followed by the bear market. This is how every market operates and in between the fluctuations will bring revenue for the traders. Whether it is bitcoin or altcoins, my choice is to accumulate as much possible, because the variation in the market will be big in no time compared to that of other form of investments. Holding as much possible and keeping ourselves for the worst scenario is my way of expectancy.

~snip~
Well, to be honest, I confess that I was very surprised with Morocco disputing this semifinals of this world cup, I never imagined that they could have reached there, but they played with a lot of vigor and determination, and in fact the results they achieved were deserved!!

I think that was one of the biggest surprises of the tournament. They literally made history, being the first African nation to reach to the semi finals of the world cup.

Another surprise was of course Saudi Arabia winning against the future world cup winner, Argentina.

And I think there were a few other results that no one was expecting. It was a pretty entertaining world cup.
Agreed, unexpected outcomes kept the entire tournament interesting. From the beginning to the last more teams that are expected to win came out earlier. Morocco is really good at its game and gained good support from people around the world, who were once in favour of the top nations.

Came across a video of Saudi players getting threatened by an official for losing a match. I don't know whether that is true or not. If someone have come across the video please post what is being discussed.
