1361  Economy / Economics / Re: Fractional Reserve Lending IS NOT bad - its unavoidable on: May 15, 2014, 11:36:31 PM
I don't think that the creation of money is just a side effect: is an intended effect that directly support the profit of banks.
Anyway, being the main effect or a side effect is not the point: the point is that it's a soverign function that should be entrusted to a public independent entity, not the Government, but the central bank (well, in the USA the FED isn't exactly a public entity, but its status in one of those absurd things of the USA). And not conceded to private corporations. We all have to pay more taxes to support that aspect of the "free market".

Even if you believe that, which I feel has little to do with rational thinking and more to do with principle (I don't mean that personally), no one has proposed a reasonable solution. Destroying the economy based on principle is pretty foolish. FRB is how things work, you actually have to intervene in the economy to prohibit it. Why do you feel that a government continually fails at almost everything it does is better suited to money creation and than a free economy? You might not like FRB but the reality is it works, and massive piles of red tape will only make things worse for everyone.

It doesn't work though. US economic history is one of bankruptcies, defaults, fascist bailouts, and outright theft. If the banking system works then what happened in 2008?

The US last openly looted the world in 1971 when Nixon unilaterally(and temporarily LOL) closed the gold window and ended Bretton Woods. The result has been a global race to the bottom for competing worthless debt based fiat currencies. Just because the vast majority of the peasants in the world don't understand the complex method that's being used to rob them, doesn't mean it's not happening or that they'll remain ignorant forever. We're stuck at insanely low interest rates long term for a reason. It helps to paper over the underlying dysfunction.

Well Im looking to set 5 cointerra miners at a shop using 208 v, some I was looking to get a PDU3VN10G60 which supposedly can feed up to 12600 watts but then when I was reading the specs says that I will only take 35 amps of input.

here is the link

http://www.tripplite.com/sku/PDU3VN10G60/

Can anybody explain to me how this works?? How will I ever put 12600 watts on a PDU that can only take 35 amps??

I would really appreciate any feedback, thanks.

Nico

P(power) = I(current) x E(voltage)

12600(w)/35(amps) = 360v

My favorite SHA-256 coin.

Mine too. I mean bitcoin is BITCOIN, but I really like Tek. It'll be fun to see where this goes.
1364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast Sierra's Owners Thread on: May 15, 2014, 11:07:34 PM
In a perfect world yes. It's not ck's fault though.

Are you seeing squelching messages in the cgminer output?

i didn't say it was ck's fault, im just asking if there's a solution to this problem if anyone else has come across it as well.
I have been told to use a program called cgwatcher to monitor cgminer & if it zombies it will auto restart cgminer. haven't tested that theory yet, but before i do i thought i would ask if there was any other solution.
When you say squelching messages, what do you mean? i think the only message i have seen is something to do with no response from head then it say's zombie, sorry i didn't really pay much attention, was just concerned the sierra had knocked off & i rapidly restarted everything to get it back up and running

It seems that when the miner is pushed too far, specific cores are "squelched". At least that is the message that cgminer reports. I've not seen one in some while now.

Mine is running comfortably at 604 and has been for a few weeks averaging 1.261Th during that time. I've converted to a .conf file, but the original .bat file simply had this preceding pool information:

"cgminer.exe --hfa-hash-clock 604 --hfa-fan 85"

Your temps seem to be under control, so it seems like you just got a bit of a dud.

Edit: windows + cgminer requires zadig.

Liars gonna lie.
Sure, but what is the lie?

We may find out soon...or we may never know. I find it difficult to believe that they blew through all the funds they've received while shipping so little equipment. I have a sierra, it's a solid and refined product. If they hadn't deceived me into dramatically overpaying I'd be delighted with the purchase. Because they've lied so frequently in the past, I don't find anything they say credible, but they're plainly capable of producing a quality mining product. As they've proven quite willing to screw over their customers at every turn it's hardly a stretch to imagine they were producing functional miners quite some while back and have been mining with them since.

Every pre-order mining company seems to use pre-order sales as a funding mechanism for their own mining farms, I doubt scamfast is any different in this regard.

there are 5 solid scenarios i see happening right now with the petition. 4 out of 5 screws everyone... hard.

Excuse me, but I don't think the bankruptcy petition screws anyone, except hopefully the assholes in charge at Hashfast, who have already screwed us.

...and scamfast will continue to do so irrespective of what this latest company shill implies.

Blasphemy. TA has strongly indicated that the price could go up! ...or down! ...or not change much. Pretty sure TA is spot on.

Beg pardon?

Sorry - sometimes I have a tendency to "think aloud", especially online.

Let me put it another way - "Rights" of the individual don't exist "a priori" - they aren't written in stone or God given. They are granted to an individual according to how the community, within which the individual coexists with other individuals, see's fit - and according to how much the community can afford (before the succesful organic survival of the community is threatened). The "rights" of the individual could almost be seen as possible courses of action that are accredited to the individual according to an outlay by the community that can be (agreed upon and) afforded. Rights have to be paid for. They are not dissimilar to privileges.

Does that make it any clearer for you ?

Crystal. TY.

You're describing the difference between a democracy and a Constitutional Republic.

The United States of America is the latter, though federalist usurpers would have you believe otherwise.

There is ZERO ambiguity here:

Quote
Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
1374  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Armed Feds Prepare For Showdown With Nevada Cattle Rancher on: May 15, 2014, 05:11:00 PM
The moment you limit one persons speech you limit everyone.

Not really.

Maybe not the best example, but if I go to a wife swap party (which I wouldn't BTW) and Annoynymint shows up with just a tub of lube and a bag of salted peanuts, well, its not cricket so to speak, is it ? I mean, he's not playing the game. He's bringing nothing to the table.

Do you see what I mean ?

What do you do ? Let him bang your wife - cos if you limit one persons right to bang your wife you limit everyones ?

Or do you tell him to GTFO and boot his arse out the door ?

Beg pardon? What does switch hitter wife banging have to do with 1st Amendment rights?

What a strange post. You do realize you can just click the ignore button right? You're not required to even see anyone else's posts.

That weapon has only one purpose.

Previously benign alphabet agencies adding heavily armed enforcement divisions has been the norm for some while.

This is from an article dated sept 14, 2013 though the numbers have likely climbed further by now:

Quote
The Environmental Protection Agency, whose armed agents in full body armor participated, acknowledged taking part in the Alaska Environmental Crimes Task Force investigation, which it said was conducted to look for possible violations of the Clean Water Act.

However, EPA officials denied the operation was a “raid” and didn't address speculation about whether it was connected to possible human and drug trafficking.

“Imagine coming up to your diggings, only to see agents swarming over it like ants, wearing full body armor, with jackets that say "POLICE" emblazoned on them, and all packing side arms,” gold miner C.R. Hammond told the Alaska Dispatch.

The other federal agencies participating in the operation were the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Coast Guard, the National Oceanic and the Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Park Service.

The Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Park Service are among 24 federal agencies employing more than 250 full-time armed officers with arrest authority, according the federal report, which is based on the 2008 Census of Federal Law Enforcement Officers.

The other 16 agencies have less than 250 officers and include NOAA as well as the Library of Congress, the Federal Reserve Board and the National Institutes of Health.

The number of federal department with armed personnel climbs to 73 when adding in the 33 offices of inspector general, the government watchdogs for agencies as large as the Postal Service to the Government Printing Office, whose IG has only five full-time officers.

This is just more evidence of the unconstitutional fourth branch of government usurping authority that rightly belongs elsewhere. If the pencil pushers at the BLM have a problem with someone in Nevada, they're required to utilize the duly elected county sheriff to enforce laws. There's no provision in the Constitution that allows the BLM to attack a citizen of the state of Nevada directly. Until state legislatures grow some balls and begin pushing back against federal tyranny this crap will continue.

So the answer to this question:

Quote
So at which point is the "money" to repay the interest on a debt created?

is "when government runs fiscal deficit".

When you say "government" you're referring specifically and exclusively to federal government are you not?

Is this real in your opinion?

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Federal government of course.

I feel it's an important distinction as only federal government can conjure currency from thin air.

Not true.  Private sector is creating money out of thin air.  I can go ten rounds. Loving this.

Printing counterfeit banknotes is illegal, but creating private money is not. The interdependence between the state and the businesses that can do this is the source of much of the instability of our economies. It could – and should – be terminated.

I'm not able to read your link as it appears to be a subscriber service. Do you have another source?

The conversation you're referencing was in regards to US federal government spending vs state and local government spending. Obviously private banks can and do contribute to the currency supply which is the topic of this thread.

LOL

More of that staunch second Amendment support? I mention defending my own tiny corner of the world from illegal immigrant trespassers and tvbcof turns it into a racial rant. I got no problem with legal immigrants that respect our laws and come here through proper channels.

Sorry, is the term "illegal immigrant", somehow racially insensitive? Shocked
1379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fate of those who challenge world's reserve currency! on: May 14, 2014, 11:33:44 PM
it's kind of shocking how, through the use of our media, our government and the rich people in bed with them, are able to invade other countries.. and sell it off to us as "freedom bringers." it's more subtle than propaganda, and goes right under our nose.

we go into poor countries, buy out their government and extract all their resources without helping the indigenous people in any way. in many cases, they turn out to be terrorists - and then we hunt them down, naming them through and through "bad guys."

The force is strong with this one.

Those nations without central banks *MUST* be brought to justice.
