No updates? No Makoto? Almost all buy orders have been cleared.

Makoto is here Smiley

I left my job the week before last and am now a crypto nomad in Tokyo. I am sleeping on someone's floor at night and writing code during the day. I also have been meeting with companies several times a week, introducing NEM and my project. ^^

Hang in there, you are doing great and have my full support.
Ignore the trolls!

Ive got a new logo im working on, but im having some trouble to make it look 3D in photoshop.

Go to filters->3d->render as normal map

I think....

I sorted it, im using cs5 and there are a few differences between that and cs6

here is an example, but i am wanting to add some text and a gradient background etc.

Criticisms are welcomed.  Blatant lying and trolling is not.

+1

Im over the trolling, it seems all that BTT is full of these days lol
1365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: August 15, 2015, 10:25:54 PM
ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) publishes responses for Nxt Cryptocurrency. Pretty cool!  Shocked

Read the full report here: http://www.esma.europa.eu/system/files/esma_report._mr_lopez._spain._0.pdf

Thats an awesome read!

Dont know why Ethereum has such a high marketcap right now because its nowhere near finished!

Here is my concept logo i threw together this morning, i can play around with fonts and colours etc, but you get the idea Smiley

bro if you using photoshop and got the card for this throw it in 3d mode instead of the blend and giver a 20px or maybe more 3d life. .. i think you got something here.  remember the S - with the simple you got looks like cd ~ or root which is symbolic and beautiful.  just maybe make the ~ smaller and go with dark them and subtle purple. or pure purple.  purple signifies course kings and royalty.. ~ signifies root.  so fucking rights.  keep working on this one and maybe add some scorpion to the S

edit.  seen S in my Mind.  D in the logo.  Try scorpion S overlayed with ~ for the root of the scorpion.  sounds like a fuckin metal album  so good.

No problem, ill work on it some more when i get a chance.

Options:

1. Swap out from SILK to DRKSLK forever.
2. Swap out from SILK to DRKSLK at staggered swap periods.
3. Completely replace SILK with DRKSLK and let current holders swap SILK for DRKSLK.
4. Run DRKSLK as an entirely new coin with the only connection to SILK being through the Weaver.

I am sure the community can think of more.

At no point however do I believe that DRKSLK should run the risk of being devalued because of either the history or current state of SILK. This coin is far superior in every way.

Also I am the developer. Not the decision maker for the community. You guys need to come to your own consensus.

Also code is code, review is exactly that, review. PoW doesn't have to be 420001 blocks. PoS interest doesn't have to be 4.2%.
Nothing is set in stone UNTIL WE LAUNCH and even then the stone can be re-cut.

Ideally, it may be good to swap all silk for DRKSLK, but have some sort of system where this can be done in wallet.

For a swap for all SILK I would rather build an online system and not add a function to the wallet that would be defunct after the swap period passes.

1. Swap SILK to DRKSLK forever creates a nice dynamic. Two stacked coins, one for large scale usability the other to be 'held' as an investment opportunity. DRKSLK will act as surety for SILK investors i.e. a risk buffer.

Any other option and you throw this away preferring one above the other. Even with staggered swap periods you give preference to DRKSLK. Swapping should be seamless and continuous, SILK would be the first binary coinsystem.

Yes that would be a good option.

Ok when Btc is send we wait about 2 days for review

Wouldn't it be better to do the review towards the end of the testnet phase and once more code changes have happened?

Also an official DarkSilk repo will be created and wont just be on my personal shadowy dev persona repo then.

Yes good idea
1374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: August 06, 2015, 09:26:03 PM
Correct me if im wrong, but i always thought it was an instamine rather than a premine, still im annoyed i didnt mine them earlier or at least buy a few because i could have had fun while it lasted and dumped the whole lot in the beginning lol.
1375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2015 and WHY on: August 06, 2015, 11:57:27 AM
i'm giving a try to NXT xoin because it is still cheap. i bought 305 NXT for 5$

hopefully the price will go to da moon  Grin

Yes NXT all the way, but i do hold a stake of NEM also as this too looks like very promising technology...
1376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - New Update 0.6.42 - Please Update Your Nodes on: August 06, 2015, 01:47:29 AM
cut

don't mean to be rude, but you don't know what you're talking about.
join slack of telegram get outside of btt hole, btt was a starting point,
but we won't care about btt in long run anyway.
why do you guys notice only the "not responding" part? Dont try to defend yourselfs. I was speaking about the whole ecosystem of nem.

Christ is this a joke? This is why NEM is going no where.
Nem is going no where because of "marketers" or whar are they called. So many excuses, delays, weak marketing, almost no PR at all,no innovation and developement in last few months, devs dont accept the help offered.by the community,i mean they have to be more open minded Thats why nem woth nothing. We need a radical change.
No. There is financial world crisis (grexit, china stock market bubble). Also Vitalik's baby born, Ethereum sucks out all oxygen from second generation cryptocurrency family. There is no room for NEM growth.

Nem has to do nothing with world financial crisis. Just a limited number of persons know about it. 1-2k person isn't enough to make a "coin" grow or spread. NEM has to be much more mainstream to get in a such a financial layer.

1-2k person??? I see maybe 7 people posting in this thread. I am going to say maybe 300-500 people actually care this coin exists.
You could say that for many coins and talking as far as the BTT community goes perhaps, but there must be alot more people trading in it on the exchanges to keep the volume and marketcap as high as it is.
There are more people interested in cryptocurrency than you might think.

Has darksilk been released yet? If not when's the planned launch?

The launch will be planned once the community are happy with the source.

Well im not very fariliar with C++, but from what i can see from reading this thread im very happy with the project.
1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][FULLPOS][NEW.BETA V1.1.1.1 DOWNLOAD HERE] on: August 05, 2015, 12:07:59 AM
Not to come across pushy. But is there anything at all people want to see in terms of timings, features, any fixes they may know of or improvements that coins have made.

Remember I may be a developer but I do not keep up to date with the latest coin releases so even though you might view developers as all knowing, we're not, sadly :p

Anyway it's late here in the UK (hint) and will be back online from 8/9am GMT.

Nothing that can come to the top of my head really, anon seems to be covered, only thing i would like to see would be an open market for trading, but that will take time to develop, so wouldn't expect this overnight.

Anyway, can you spot the silk?  Cheesy
1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][FULLPOS][NEW.BETA V1.1.1.1 DOWNLOAD HERE] on: August 04, 2015, 11:46:16 AM
So where is the community that I have been doing this work for............

hybernation

Good to see some movements

Review the code and suggest changes or additions Smiley https://github.com/SCDeveloper/DarkSilk

First of all, thank you SCDeveloper for the work you've done. There are many people like me who have been here from the beginning and will be here until the end (large bags weigh us down). It will take time to round up troops again. We have been quietly and patiently waiting. Now that things are in motion we should become more active, but it will take time for everybody to know that we are alive again. Just keep moving forward and people will follow.

I wish I could read code but I can't. Hopefully some skilled community members will chime in. This is about all that I understand from the github:

What is DarkSilk?

Scrypt PoW/PoS PoS Interest - 5% Annually 420,000 Blocks for PoW Phase 1 Minute Target Spacing Difficulty Retargets Every Block 42 Coins Per Block 42 Blocks for DarkSilk to be Minted/Mature 90,000,000 Total Coins

50MB Maximum Block Size (50X Bitcoin Core)

DarkSilk includes an Address Index feature, based on the address index API (searchrawtransactions RPC command) implemented in Bitcoin Core but modified implementation to work with the DarkSilk codebase (PoS coins maintain a txindex by default for instance). Initialize the Address Index by running the -reindexaddr command line argument, it may take 10-15 minutes to build the initial index.

DarkSilk only broadcasts transactions once unlike Bitcoin Core which rebroadcasts transactions which can be used to unmask and link IP addresses and transactions. However if your transaction does not successfully broadcast you can use the -resendtx console command to broadcast the transaction again.

DarkSilk implements Gavin Andresens signature cache optimisation from Bitcoin for significantly faster transaction validation.

Sandstorm Network Information Ported Masternodes from Darkcoin and rebranded as Stormnodes and modified to use stealth addresses. Darksend ported and rebranded as Sandstorm. Utilisation of InstantX for instant transaction confirmation. Multiple Stormnodes can be ran from the same IP address.

sounds exciting!

FYI: Poloniex will no longer be offering services to residents of  New York ...

If nobody saw this coming, you're incredibly naive.

Governments may praise crypto all they want, but in the end it challenges their positions of authority by undermining the fraud that is FIAT. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg for things to come:

http://www.coindesk.com/ny-bitcoin-business-45-days-bitlicense/

Problem is how can they even enforce this?
How would they know you are in New York?
Easy enough to provide a different address if it asks...

Databases of ips per country are available online for free.
State information can be extracted from the whois.
You can fool it by proxy or vpn.

easy ways around it i guess, but i never realised that ip addresses were linked to particular states, i thought it would be the US as a whole, but the US is a big country i guess, anyway NY is really only a small part of their business so i doubt they will be affected much.
