You cannot manage losses because they are already gone and there is nothing you can do to get them back. You have to learn that losing is good because you learn from your mistakes. Doesn't mean you necessarily have to lose just because I said that's OK. Eventually you will lose and that's when you have to analyze what you did wrong and don't repeat that.

Minimizing is something else, or to say cutting loses. I don`t recommend that in trading with cryptocurrencies, at least with most coins I don`t. |

Hi - I'm new to cryptocurrency trading and need advice whether to trade on ETH/ALT(Crypto) or BTC/ALT(Crypto) currency pairs.
I understand the whole market is tied to Satoshi/BTC ratio and not fiat currency (expt Tether) and this is where I was making BIG mistakes when trading i.e sometimes keeping the BTC or ETH was far more valuable than converting to an Alt coin in the first place.
ETH seems more stable, my concern being that when I sell the crypto into either BTC or ETH then the value of the BTC/ETH changes and if I dont quickly buy something else then any profit diminishes. What do most people use ?
What is the ideal "store" for profit in these markets since you cannot convert to fiat currency without the hurdles of transfer costs ?
Mistake you made is cause you don`t have a stash of btc, eth and some other coins. First you work on your stash, only later you start to trade. Same mistake I made two years ago when I started with trading, I lost a lot of bitcoins, in that time not big money. More then a year I don`t trade daily, I`m a mid term trader, for profit I wait months and some coins I keep longer. My mistakes in beginning were cause of cutting losses, stop losses, I don`t do that anymore. If you got in some coin keep it until price rise and you take profit, in bull market you can`t lose if you wait long enough. |

I used Polo a long time ago, probably about a year and a half at this point (that's a long time in the crypto world) For my recent trades, I've fully left Polo and have went into Binance. Though I haven't heard of anyone talking about Polo - the only time I do hear it though is people complaining about it. Is Polo dead? I know at one point it was controlling most of the market.

Poloniex is now not in very good condition, and the recent blocking of the Monero coin confirms this, they try to attract attention to themselves He should try to open poloniex and he would see that polo is not dead. About this monero and what they did is hard to discuss, every exchange site have a right to list or remove coins they want. I use poloniex over a year and I never had any problem with them. I never traded with monero so that didn`t bother me. If you want to trade with all coins on the market you will have to use many exchange site, there isn`t exchange site will all coins listed. |

Who place a bet on Serbia to win world cup should have better odd`s. Group A - Uruguay and Russia. Egypt is a little bit better then Russia at the moment, but FIFA usually lets the host country through.
Group B - Portugal and Spain. In case of a lousy performance by Portugal, Iran could get through, but that is a far stretch.

First of all, I would not recommend spending such a sufficient sum of money if you are a newbie. Leave something for your living. However, if you are still going to invest dollars in crypto, choose Ethereum and NEO (in my opinion, they are great). First rule of investing is don`t invest more then you can afford to lose. Second rule is don`t invest if you can`t wait long enough for your investment to be profitable. If this guy say he have 10,000$ probably he already think about first and second rule. Maybe he is a newbie, but he should know some basics before bitcointalk. Only thing I agree with you is about investing in eth and neo, both are great platforms and buying them now in this dip is great decision for everyone. |

For a long time I didn`t saw someone is mentioning dgb, they are not so active here, but on twitter I follow them and there they are tweeting something everyday. Stratis is also a good project, and I will add cardano. Cheap coins that have a big potential. I agree that many coins are undervalued, after latest drop most of the coins are touched bottom and from now for most coins only way is up. Its flaws? It is new.  Because of that there have been difficulties for acceptance. It is a currency. People just want their own currency to be used. It is not physically seen. A larger percentage of people do not believe in ghost so why bitcoin? If they cannot hold it then it is not real for them. I think there are no valid reasons why you dont want to invest on bitcoin. Maybe the problem is the ignorance of the bitcoin system and second you have no money to invest on it. Why not to invest if it will guarantee you a good return and people who dont believe in bitcoin is missing the chance to change their lives. I am very lucky that i am one of the bitcoin supporters. I have no reasons not to invest in bitcoin because it really helped me a lot. Both of you are right, there are no valid reasons for not investing in bitcoins. Like many others you bought on top, but I like this topic cause unlike others OP is holding and he doesn`t cry about it. Good times will come again and price will recover. Before two years we can say something similar happened and most of the people who bought on top waited two or more years for profit. I don`t mean to scare anyone, 2-3 years period is not short, I`m just saying that people who bought on top needs to be prepared for waiting. Getting out now, cutting loses is not a good thing to do, in long run you will see that kind of decision can cost you a fortune. Look when this thread is created. Since october and price OP mentioned both bitcoin and ethereum had higher tops. Bitcoin is stronger, its double from that price even after very high top, ethereum had its top over 1.000$ but now price is the same as in october last year. Bitcoin is stronger coin, but I think ethereum will rise too. Which one more is the question for each of us, I give advantage to bitcoin. Ethereum have many tokens on its platform, this is new for all of us here, if this tokens rise one day maybe that can push ethereum very high. Guys, I know that many of you have already discussed this issue regarding quitting gambling as it is addictive, and I know that this thread is just like any other one. But forgive me because I am really sick of seeing people committing suicide because they are in big debts. I would like to speak my mind.
So, guys. Quitting gambling has to be done by quitting yourself. What I mean by that statement is that you should no longer be yourself or what you are. You are now a man of greed and addiction. Who was the person you were before you start gambling? Perhaps you were addicted to something else. Perhaps you were just a normal man living a normal life. Now you are a different person. What I want you to do is that you should be aware that gambling too much will make you lose yourself. Second off, you should sit with yourself and write down the negative effects of gambling. Do not be like "What if I win next time, what if I get lucky next time." No, that is not you who is talking but your greed. Do not give yourself false hopes because "What if" is a term used to talk about unreal action in the past or the future. You can neither change the past nor be accurate about what future will be like.
Then you should practice positive self-talk. Fill yourself with positiveness. Have a strong willpower and determination because believe me, once you are committed to something, you will attain it. If you want to give up gambling, then you can do it because other people and I gave it up.
I used to gamble a lot with my friends and I would be lying if I said I did not learn many things. But the negative effects overcame the positive ones. I took a decision to stop gambling. I filled my time with various activities. In time, I started to forget about gambling. It is like moving on. If you want to move on, get yourself from the routine you used to be in. Your brain is functioned about a certain routine. You will find it hard to adapt to the new routine, but believe me, in time you will get used to it.

Quitting gambling is recommended for the people who lose most of the time, they will always have negative feelings from gambling. Don`t have hopes in gambling, be practical, try to use the situation in your advantage and you will not have such opinion. Future price of bitcion will not be predicted because every seconds bitcoin price changes. Everyone of us are expecting the price to get high but price only basis on market. In December 2017 Bitcoin reached tops record New All-time High $19,000, then plunges in wild in Q1 2018. Most BTC holder will need to get Bitcoin about 19k again or above and I believe as nowaday with Lightning Network there will be no issue with the scalability and will be more payment/utility case with Bitcoin in the future , makes bitcoin price go higher than 20k.
This will gonna be fun if this will become true. No one can predict it's price seriously even price chart analyst cannot. Price is changing every second that is true, its funny how many people are trying to predict bitcoin price and to earn from that. From this forum I learned that most of traders lose money on this fluctuations. But what stops us from thinking that price of 1 bitcoin will be very high one day? Law of demand and supply is working on that, with cutting supply and rising demand price will surely grow. Many people wait some kind of government approval of cryptocurrencies before entering, that is coming, I read that many countries are interested in blockchain technology. This road is one way road to a very high price, I can`t see other way, its evolvent and people can`t stop that now. |
