1422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Presale] Ferron (FRRN) - POS - MN on: September 16, 2018, 01:08:07 PM
ok, ,just wanted to tell everyone that is reading here, I made a masternode on vultr server, today my coins are gone, not sure
what happened to them, but like to see if someone here knows about Vultr, I really thought the site would be secure, I did not
encrypt my wallet, my fault there, but just sucks,  6k coins gone like that...any input would be help full..thanks
What coins? ferron? Is it possible just because your coin is lost and then you blaming the vultr as the VPS? I think you need to talk about this to th developer of Ferron coin.

If your "roi" is only in the coins created then yes wonderfull roi but if u cant exchange those coins for BTC or USD they really are worth nothing anyone can create a masternode coin or have one made for them for less then 1k usd (way less) its up to DEVS to add value to the coin/chain by having innovative projects attached/associated with/ to it.
This coin does not talk at all about how this value will be created and thats why at this point this coin has 0 value could it become more valuable in the future maybe but since there is no information about dev team / whitepaper or anything that actually matters on the roadmap so there is no way to judge if there will be value added in the future.

Most of the these "Masternode" coins are just blatant money grabs with 0 development beeing done devs talk about the future but never deliver and as soon as no one if buying their masternodes anymore .. @ 0.7 they will stop responding because they are busy with their other clones that fools are still buying.
I totally agree with this kind of person. I guess The Ferron team is not ready for this project. Where is your full roadmap? And whitepaper? I just afraid if there are people which will be scammed after they look at that ROI.

AND the fact that the devs have chosen to remain silent and not even defend their project here just screams out loudly that this is another cash grab coin.
Truth is most projects that are worth holding in the long run actually have very low roi to start with. Falling for the high roi indicator on a project that's not even 1/4th of an year old is just stupidity and wasting of money nothing else.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheap electricity for miners ( Hosting Center Netherlands ) on: September 15, 2018, 02:20:53 PM
Since you are a dank new profile with no reputation history, you will not find many interested people to try your services.
However, if you keep a collateral of certain amounts with someone who is a trusted member here on this forum then you will attract investors by the loads.
As far as the collateral amount goes, I would suggest to simply put 110% of the mining equipment value from per miner/client you get.

Sorry for the late responce, but have bin busy building up hehe.
i know we are new and so far i know none of my current customers has an profile here.
Still i gonna send them all an email, perhaps someone has Smiley

Asking someone new to come here and say that they know you or have been your customer since whenever also does not prove anything. Who will trust them? If you want to build a business from Bitcointalk then you need to build trust with people.
And mind you building trust does not equate to buying trust (don't try that).
1424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [PRE-SALE] 📣📣 ACREAGE ✅ 80% MN ⚡️ 20% POS ⚡️ PROPERTY SURVEY🏡 on: September 14, 2018, 08:10:58 PM
In Big Letters for such a little thing .. for what..a guy ask a question get no answer ?! or what ...? lol

Today it was that guy, tomorrow it may be me who needs tech support and they'll be no where to help me. Id much rather put my money with projects where the Devs are more open and friendly.

It always happens when there are a lot of techies in the project. They usually as a vitalik booter technically very well understand but with communication and explanations trouble. The project itself I really like it in my stop sheet of investment for this moment is. Maybe something normal will come out!

Great projects and products in and out of cryptoverse have gone to waste because of wrong leadership.
1425  Economy / Services / Re: JOBS & SERVICE REQUEST BOARD (Post Hiring requests HERE) + TX Accelerator Advice on: September 13, 2018, 01:55:59 PM
What I need done (Job Details) : EXPERIENCED COIN DEVs

Amount I am willing to spend : TOKENS ONLY (% from premine) rate negotiable

I need this done within (time): Reasonable

Portfolio / Experience Required : Preferable

How and when I will pay : No one is funding the idea. So it will be a pay off in tokens when this hits market.

Will I use escrow for payment : Yes - Whenever applicable

The idea is somewhat based on this : Help me DESTROY Bitcoin!
1426  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help me DESTROY Bitcoin! on: September 13, 2018, 01:45:12 PM
Dang, you got me with the clickbait.  What's the progress on this so far?

Just an idea so far.

First off I'd need some people to put up the skeleton. Build the system on the cak of php / perl / with any robust database system that can handle the burning system.
At the least, I need people to help me establish the first proof of concept, so I can prepare a proper pitch deck and reach out to more VCs

Also people with deep pockets that may want to jump in early would help accelerate this faster.

But getting the right people on board to mould this out of nothing is the initial goal - which is the point of this thread.

Hmm, So if i understand this correctly Phoenix will work something like this.

1) Early burners would get Phoenix plus the 'promised' ash.
2) People will keep burning cryptos till the last phoenix is given out.
3) The 'Promised' ashs in the meanwhile will keep evolving into 'Phoenixes'.

Will these 'evolved' Phoenixes generate new 'ashs'? Have you thought of something to make this a continuous process instead of it stopping at one stage?

Ash is not 'promised' it's locked Phoenix(es). It will evolve on it's own.

And no, Ash is only obtained when something is burnt.
1427  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help me DESTROY Bitcoin! on: September 13, 2018, 12:59:42 PM
First of all, this wasn't pointed at you. I was referring to other people who would want to burn up their coins. Second, I do like the idea of 'reduction in supply', I have studied economics myself. Anyway if you feel like I overstepped, Apologies. I am not one of those assholes who would feel belittled by apologizing. Anyway moving on.

I have a low tolerance for BS. Nothing personal. Let's move on.  Smiley

there can only be a certain number of Phoenix that will exist.
Got it, But what happens when the Last Phoenix is given out? How will the burning work then? Bitcoin has 'fees' which will reward the miners, What will the 'burners' have?

Good question.

What would happen to Bitcoin if the last one is mined? Bitcoin will continue to exist but there will no longer be any more mineable coins.

Same theory applies here. The total available supply for Phoenix would equal to the total circulating supply of Phoenix. Having burnt other coins to come to existence.

The burn system can then be used to burn Phoenix themselves. Burning Phoenix at that point would remove that Phoenix from the circulating supply and release them over a longer period of time, this could be incrementally longer each time the burn event occurs. This would also temporarily boost the then value of Phoenix as there would be a reduction in the total number of circulating Phoenix.

Early burners would get a extra Phoenix in Ash the amount of reward for burning would keep decreasing until at last when nearing the total supply of Phoenix at which point the excess reward would be 0.

That's the idea. There is no inherent value of Phoenix at the point of generation, but rather the value of the destroyed asset that would be destroyed to generate Phoenix. Which - would be decided by the open market.

Well, the 'open market' doesn't work that way... More supply usually means lower price and each time someone burns a cryptocurrency more of Phoenixes come into existence, driving its price down rather than up. Locking up tokens could work in this scenario if you want to raise the price of Phoenix. But my question is if the people who want to destroy a coin for fun or whatever their fucked up reason is, why do they want/expect to get rewarded?

Listen mate! Don't like the idea then stop fucking around in this thread. Ask nicely and you will be explained. I'm not going to sit here and read your fucked up language. Clear?

-
After being an economics student and being a forex/crypto trader for the last 7 - 9 years I think I have an understanding of how open market works.

-
You got part of it correct.

Increasing supply does decrease price but there is 0 supply to begin with and there can only be a certain number of Phoenix that will exist. Ever. So if you don't want Phoenix then keep holding on to your asset and never bother. Phoenix for you will not exist.

The concept is :

There is a non-stop increase in digital assets especially cryptos. That's equivalent to an uncontrollable rate of inflation.
As FIAT will keep getting produced by the governments and someone or the other with a large bucket of FIAT currency will invest in some altcoin out there. Resulting in more money being created out of no where.
There is no system in place in the crypto-verse where this steady inflow of money is countered with a steady reduction in the amount of available money and digital assets in the crypto-world.

Burn address is the way to go man

If you read everything then you will realize the whole project is way more complicated than what a simple burn address would be able to accomplish.
1429  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help me DESTROY Bitcoin! on: September 13, 2018, 11:32:51 AM
Ok, I understand the concept, but why would people want to burn a high priced coin like Bitcoin, for a possible lower valued Phoenix token? Will this be a 1 to 1 reward for the bitcoins that are burnt or would the person burning his bitcoins, get a equal valued amount of tokens for the bitcoins he burnt?

Say, 2000 Phoenix tokens valued at $500 for 0.07841 bitcoin valued at $500 <at todays value of $6 377/bitcoin> Huh

Is the exchange for burning bitcoins an economical decision or just a little reward incentive for doing it?

That's the idea. There is no inherent value of Phoenix at the point of generation, but rather the value of the destroyed asset that would be destroyed to generate Phoenix. Which - would be decided by the open market.

To explain better, here's an example :
Say there are no Phoenix at the moment. So the value of Phoenix is 0 and ∞ depending on who wants to generate the first Phoenix.

To note, there will be XXX number of Phoenix that can be generated. No more.

Now someone burns 1 BTC in the system then they will be rewarded with and instant reward : Phoenix and some locked Phoenix rewards : Ash which will slowly unlock more Phoenixes for a period and then the Ash will itself be depleted. The generation/conversion power of Phonenix from Ash will decrease logarithmically over a set period of time.

Now, theoretically, for the first generation of Phoenix blocks :
1 Phoenix = Total Potential Phoenix Generated = Instant generation of Phoenix + Ash (Locked Phoenix) = 1 Btc's USD value at that point of burning - in the open market.

There will be no direct inflow of FIAT > Phoenix

So if you destroy $1m worth of Bitcoins for Phoenixes, then you will get $1m worth of Phoenixes.

Now, there will be bonuses for early generators - which is what I hope will be the enticement for investors. Then technically their 1 mil could be multiplied by the bonus they will get.
1430  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help me DESTROY Bitcoin! on: September 13, 2018, 11:17:40 AM
Burning Bitcoin offline is easy. Transfer to a Drive and destroy the drive. Same with paper wallet, there you will actually get the satisfaction of burning it.
How will you prove your didn't make another copy? The only way to prove nobody can access coins ever again is by sending them to a burn address.

That's the solution I am looking for. To create a burn address system that will irrevocably destroy an existing asset and replace it with new Phoenixes / Ash.

Changing the topic a bit here But this isn't true 'burning' IMO. What happens when we master the art of quantum computing in the next 5-10 decades? A quantum computer will be able to crack these 'Burn' addresses and retrieve the bitcoins. What you are doing here is basically donating your bitcoins to person/entity who will avail these bitcoins in the future. Consider it a sort of smart contract  Cheesy

That's dumb. If the burned tokens are bought/sold then that will devaluate the generated Phoenix / Ash as well. The only way Phoenix will gain value is by decreasing the volume of other assets that are in limited supply to begin with and replacing them with Ash / Phoenix.
The point of this discussion is to get people who are interested in this idea to work together and build something new and better with transparency.

Necro-ing this to post this information which might be useful to someone else googling the same address : 3PAs2qSeUAfgqSKS8LpZPKGYEjJKcud9Djr

https://support.wavesplatform.com/en/knowledge-bases/2/articles/3455-what-is-a-payment-gateway-and-how-does-it-work

It is their Official gateway address aka Wavesing Node.

Transfers from clients to your own wallet would always go through this gateway. No need to panic just wait a few minutes or hours depending on the network speed. Nobody stole anything from you. This issue has been documented before on reddit and everywhere else.

They have also verified the same on a tweet :

well..
I'm hosting my first node for RSP

but couple of hickups .. whom I thought to be a genuine community guy who was excited about the possibility of this project just turned out to be a bounty hunter guy, replying here to be incentivized and the devs are .. approachable.. but they are not very friendly... and oh so busy!

Regardless I'll continue hosting my MN and watch how this journey unfolds.

Hello! Is there any active markets?

Crypto-Bridge

In my opinion, Respawn's difference is its own league system and its own cryptographic application. Will this difference make Respawn competitive and grow?

Every year Dota / Valve hosts gaming leagues with a prize pool of $20 million. Then there are numerous other companies sponsoring teams and other tourneys. It is a vibrant market and no crypto yet has made any noticeable impact in the e-sports industry yet - which is a shame. Respawn could be that project. This is what will set them apart.

I don't quite understand the concept of your idea, and what exactly do you propose?... I understand that the translation is not correct, but I did not see anything new that can distinguish you from other odd ideas. This is all my subjective opinion.

You're a bot so STFU!
1434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 📢[ANN] Respawn [RSP] 🔴 Ultimate Gaming Platform 🔴 POS / Masternodes 🔴 on: September 12, 2018, 04:13:44 PM
After a lot of browsing for my next MN (after Ohmcoin) .. I've landed on Respawn ..

Looks like I found my next coin... I'm already sold and I want to be involved with this project at the least as a node runner - but if any of the core team could pitch to me then that would be great!

Why should I be bothered with Respawn?
In a sea of shitcoins and masternode scams - what sets you guys apart?

I already have my reasons to invest here, but I want to know what the team and the existing community has to say.
I was looking for my next coin too and I found Respawn a few days ago, and as a member of the community now and from what I've researched so far about the currency, I found some interesting things. The main ones are that there was no ICO, there was no pre-sale and the pre-mine was small. Questioning Dev, he replied that he was investing from his own pocket to develop the project. Another thing that caught my eye was the future development of the app that promises to help in education about blockchain technology and still reward the user with tokens, this will make many people adopt Respawn in the future. I continue to follow the work, but I will certainly invest.

Personally, I am interested in the gaming aspect but so far I've only had a word with Merlyn on discord and he seems a bit skittish about revealing his identity. From our conversation, I was able to gather than most if not all of the core team is from European countries.

My question was a great opportunity for the marketing team to pitch their ideas and really sell their project to a wider audience, I'm surprised why they are not jumping on it yet.

As I've told numerous other teams, it is never too late nor too early for KYD. It only builds trust and improves brand image.

I'll be hosting my RSP node soon and I will try to be active on Discord but I have a lot on my plate and I am behind on many projects. But I will stand with Respawn community on any chance that I get.

Assuming the card is bought within last 6-9 months, at what price would you guys stock up the used AMD GPUs.

Here it is for me:

Rx 470/480 - $80
Rx 570/580 - $90

Above is including shipping.

I'm confused. Are you selling these?

I'm glad I jumped on board before all the exciting things started happening  Cheesy Grin yay!
Just a question, was this wallet update part of a roadmap or was this something that was just a necessary milestone?

Can this idea be adopted for wallet destruction?
As in destroying a wallet completely, essentially burning the coins / tokens.

If you care to look at, then here's something I'm trying to cook : Help me DESTROY Bitcoin!

Any technical insight / suggestions would be helpful.

What you are talking about already exists:

Proof of burn

I've already answered the point about Proof of Burn. Here's the statement:

What you are describing has been done before. You might want to lookup the story of Counterparty who was responsible for trading a new currency "XCP" for people who were willing to burn bitcoin in exchange. Over 2,100 BTC's were burned this way.But some smaller startups have done it as well in the past.

Well, I'm not them. And if something has been done before does not mean it can't be done again in a much better way. I haven't even described 10% of the full functionality of what I am intending to build.

PS: I've heard of XCP before but wasn't aware of their 'burning bitcoins' ideology. Thanks for digging it up. Now I'll know what I need to do differently.

Thanks for getting involved in the thread. However, I am still looking for interested people who'd want to do this.
