1441  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Pool Operators - PLEASE BAN & BLOCK GPUMAX getwork/proxy access to your pool on: September 14, 2012, 07:00:11 AM
I was thinking about mining on Ozcoin, but I heard that they support scammers, fraud and illegal botnets....although I could be wrong. Perhaps I need some red oversized text to help get the point across to me  Roll Eyes

So basically what the Ozcoin OP is saying is, he will kick a botnet if it affects HIS pool's performance and HIS bottom line, but he will allow scammers and fraudsters to stay connected and access his pool although they have negatively affected an entire community ?

Please tell me that you are not part of a Neighborhood Watch program at home where you live, because I would feel sorry for the protection you were offering to your neighbors when they weren't at home to protect their own homes....lol

Let me think out loud (or in text) here for a minute:

Block GPUMAX access---->Force miners to connect directly to their pools, as no work gets passed through = Tons of hashing power able to be directed anywhere HE wishes, is taken out of the control of a known scammer and as D&T said, perhaps the biggest (paraphrase) Douchebag in Bitcoin history ?

Hey Graet. Imagine that you have a young wife and a young son. Your wife's Gynecologist (you know, pussy Doctor) is your son's baseball coach on the side and physically abuses your son, say, in a 'private' nature. Would you still allow him to work on your wife's private parts because 1 has nothing to do with the other ?

why dont you leave bitcoin because it is used for scamming?
why do you use fiat - its also used by scammers?
do you want to grocery to not sell food to scammers?

if no: whats your point again?

Seriously why are these guys still even allowed to talk at the conference in London. These guys should not even be related to bitcoins anymore. I still do not understand who still uses intersango after all this BS.

+1
i dont understand it either... there are good alternatives.

Payb.tc, I for one, wouldn't mind throwing a few BTC your way to put something together where only the people who elect to give Pirate their information gets passed on.  It would have to be contingent on a few things though.  If Pirate paid only those accounts, only those accounts would be paid out and the people that chose to not give information would have to wait until further action is taken and their BTC are refunded.  There would also need other people to throw BTC in.

The other thing we could do is put together a list and have you sign off on it as accurate and we can forward it on to Pirate.  I know this was done before but I'm not sure it was ever verified by you before it was forwarded.

Also, given the fact that BitcoinMax's userbase is so large, I would imagine if everyone threw in a little there would surely be enough to get a lawyer involved and pay for payb.tc's time.

I can state with 100% acuracy that it was not signed off by payb.tc.

I highly doubt it would help but if paybtc wants access to the list I will give it to him, as stated in my orig thread.

payb.tc:
how much btc would you need to check this list, sign it and pass it to pirate?
1444  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OPEN LETTER to Donald, Patrick & Amir RE: Bitcoinica on: September 14, 2012, 05:52:39 AM
intersango team does not learn Wink

now they are angry and hiding like childs... just refusing to talk.

would be amusing if no many people (me included) didn't lost that much money.
for me phantomcircuit is the reason why i am not in london now.
1445  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: September 14, 2012, 05:45:22 AM
My share key is present but i still get the error when i tried to pair my iphone.

I think this issue should be fixed now. It was a problem with case sensitivity between the shared key.

Feature request:
Allow to resend a transaction with a higher fee.
if it uses the exact same prevouts their shouldn't be a problem: just resend it and (maybe) use an additional prevout to cover the higher fee.

if the old transaction confirms the new one cannot and the other way around: so it should be safe.

I don't think re-constructing the transaction and double spending is the best way to handle this.

Either mining pools should offer a service where you can pay a small amount to have a transaction marked as high priority.

Or by an output from the transaction with low fees with a transaction that has a high fee attached the bitcoind transaction priority algorithm should take into account the extra fees which can be gained by mining both transactions, and hence marking the low fee transaction as high priority as well. This way if a merchant wants to increase the confirmation speed of a transaction all they have to do is spend it with a high fee.

hi piuk,

but as a user of your wallet this solution does not help me if i want to get a stucked transaction through. and you (kind of) already do this: after 24h you delete the transaction and i can send a new one - this is also (likely) a double-spend.

btw. most pools dont do your described fee calculation yet. which means if there is a high fee transaction which needs a low-fee input most pools would still ignore the low fee one (because fees dont really matter now; except for spamming protection)

Can I use this method to pay a merchant with a lower fee, and then 5 minutes later pay that same amount to myself with a higher fee?

as i want him to code it in a way which keeps the transaction intact: no
but you can use the rawtransaction api from bitcoin.7 to do that what you described

0 confirmations are always a risk...

this feature is only intented to push a transaction harder which does not want to go into a block (which is important because blockchain.info has a feature to not pay any transaction fee if the user wants it that way).

edit: more clarification
1447  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Tags- Pirate Pass Through operators ? on: September 13, 2012, 02:20:46 PM
Actually, your cut was money stolen from other victims. Start paying back in full or be painted as a co-conspirator, morally and legally. No grey zone at all.

his cut was his fee for managing the bitcoinmax.com site - NOTHING more.
i don't expect him to pay that.

but want him to see to try to get some money back from pirate - which he refuses (except we pay him)

1449  Economy / Services / Re: Would you invest in an illegal business on: September 13, 2012, 12:23:12 PM
Since gambling and illegal stuff seem to be the only two "industries" that flourish in today's Bitcoin environment I was wondering whether you guys would consider illegal business as an investment option for you.

Please, note that I am NOT giving you an offer. I'm just curious.

it depends
if it is illegal but does not hurt my moral feelings i'm fine investing in it.

but i dislike: drugs, childporn, weapons, anything which hurts people (this list is not complete)
^^ so there is not much left. maybe gambling (as its overregulated in germany)
1450  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trendon Shavers - Family Contact made on: September 13, 2012, 08:39:03 AM
I just had the pleasure of having a 10min or so telephone conversation with none other than Theodore (Ted) Shavers, the father of Trendon Shavers and had the opportunity to bring him up to speed on the happenings as of late. After leaving a mesasge or 2 previously, I was finally able to get through to him today.

I informed the elder Shavers that it would be in Trendon's best interests to get back in contact with the community that he has defrauded for the estimated amount of $5 million USD and for Theodore (Ted) to feel free to familiarize himself further on the topic, by searching his son's name on Google, for further reading.

I will be keeping in contact with Ted Shavers (the father), as I explaned to him, it would be senseless for us to file Criminal proceedings if there was a chance to recoup some of the lost funds at this point. although Civil proceedings have been set in motion, which may be cancelled if the participants are left satisfied. He has made it clear to me that Trendon will be getting a call from him immediately and instructed to get back in touch with this community. The contact that I left with his father was donshrents@hotmail.com , although we will be continuing a telephone relationship until this situation comes to an end, regardless of what that end may be.

~DonShrents

i dont think its nice to take this to his family and to publish their contact information.
he is an adult...

1453  Local / Projektentwicklung / Re: anonyme Bitcoin-Karte als Zahlungsmittel on: September 12, 2012, 06:09:48 AM

1454  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does Butterfly Labs Deliver? on: September 12, 2012, 06:07:45 AM
Hell, since they're so close (couple hundred miles), I might want to take a day or two off work to drive over there to Kansas City and look at their facility.

Sounds great, I'm jealous. Think you can do a trip report?

and sneek in some pic`s while you`r at it!!  Cheesy

dont take it personal... ok ... i made an error writing this. english is not my native language and i meant to say "calm down im sorry"

1459  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New Mining Protocol Proposal on: September 11, 2012, 12:03:49 PM
After hinting at this for months on BTC Guild, I have released a full spec of the new mining protocol I have been working on with ArtForz.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108441.msg1178526#msg1178526

If you are a mining software developer or pool operator, please take a look at the new spec, and give any feedback/suggestions if you have them.  It is not yet set in stone, though we've gone to great lengths trying to keep it as trim as possible while providing all the features miners expect out of mining software these days.  We've also added some server management features that can greatly assist pools for load balancing and maintenance restarts.

He still living ? I thought he disappeared.

Tell him to come back ... his posts were very helpful just like D&T posts.

+1 please bring ArtForz back!
1460  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am bitcoin 0 again on: September 11, 2012, 12:00:18 PM
i feel the same...
i am down to (nearly) zero bitcoins again too...

mybitcoin, bitscalper, bitcoinica, pirate and matthew - they all scammed me / made me losses Wink

but i dont think you can judge a currency by its users. if i had kept all my bitcoins and did not spend them i would have about 200btc right now - but i would not have the nice feeling to wait for my jalapeno to arrive.

btc is fun. btc is new and i strongly believe in its fundamentals...many community users are honest and nice.

i would not stop to take bitcoins if i where you.
