1442  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold onto your balls gentlemen , the halvening is coming! ;) on: April 10, 2016, 12:52:32 PM
I was told to hold "onto" my balls... thought it'd be exciting. Didn't know that it'd be because they'd been repeatedly kicked, me, left writhing in pain.  Angry

Holding onto ones balls requires some balls to begin with so already you  don't qualify, but nice try anyways....
This pretty much sums this thread all up. Nothing new to read in here, yet another new topic about halving. As correctly stated in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1410022.0, we will have more than 100 new topics about halving, as most of the users in here don't know how to use search option.

people keep repeating everything because literally nothing is happening lately. i think by the time that the block halving has been completed, there will be close to 200 threads about it. searching for an already existing thread costs time while creating a new thread is done in a few seconds.
Yep, horizontal trends are boring unfortunately and this is also reflected in all these 'new' threads about halving.
We have to simply wait until the resolution, but even then I wouldn't expect fireworks, if we do not have any extra developments.

what extra developments are you hoping to see this year that will bring the action back to the currently boring market? i really can't think of any beside the block size increase.
1443  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 will be a boring year for bitcoin on: April 10, 2016, 12:48:59 PM
2016 could be a boring year for bitcoin. I think the price will rise slowly due to the halving and adoption.

Bitcoin price grows gradually even if there is no more halving effect. Price increase will never make 2016 a year of bitcoin expect the halving.

exactly. the block halving might only have a very minimal and short term impact on the price as it doesn't say anything about the years after that. that's why i tend to focus only on slower but more stable growths. slow growth is way more sustainable as it allows the price to build strong support levels to protect the price.
1444  Other / Off-topic / Re: When is Bitcoins going to die? on: April 10, 2016, 12:03:05 PM
perhaps, bitcoin will die when people start to get bored using it and no transaction

No..Transaction is always present which I think would be impossible to be gone..Bitcoin's transactions from bitcoin to bitcoin or bitcoin to fiat will always be a cycle, except if the value of bitcoin is gone and no one believe in it anymore...

bitcoin can never fully die. it can only go to sleep when there is no power at all in the world. that's why it is good to spread out the mining farms to ensure that other farms in the world are fully functioning. same goes up for when there is no internet.
1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this guy Satoshi Nakamoto? on: April 10, 2016, 11:44:33 AM
we will most likely never know who the real satoshi nakamoto is unless he is introducing himself to the outside world with signed messages of (supposedly) his wallets. untill then, i don't believe any one that is saying he or she is satoshi. it's that simple.
1446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving is a profitable??? on: April 10, 2016, 11:39:04 AM
yes I'm sure as halving arrived bitcoin will have a high price. halving make bitcoin supply weakened and will make bitcoin increasingly in demand by the market.

Yes halving will surely have big effect for bitcoin. It will make price for bitcoin rise and go up more. So now we should bag more bitcoins and do make good decision so we can multiply it halving is coming and this is a good news to us.

the effect that the upcoming block halving will bring to us may not be as much as you guys are hoping for. that's why it's important not to get excited already. let's see first if the block halving can push people to buy through $600 and then $700. if the price doesn't go up to these levels, then it will most likely stay below $500 for the largest part of this year. that's why i am keeping my head cool.
1447  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: April 10, 2016, 11:28:15 AM
I will better choose both .but if it depends on thread or only one to choose ,I choose bitcoins because bitcoin have more potential but both of them have a great value in the future.

Going for both forms of investing is a wise decision. Because in above quote it's been just described about growth, it has also the possibility to fall.

if you look at which of the two investment tools offer a better long term potential profit, then bitcoin is by far the better option. if you hold gold for a few years you may end up having made only 10-20% in profit. that's why bitcoin is my investment of choice at any time.
1448  Economy / Economics / Re: Trade house for 1 bitcoin on: April 10, 2016, 11:13:48 AM
How long until we can trade a house for a single bitcoin??

1 year, 2 years, 3 years?? What do you think about it?

If you have the quantity to make up for it, you can buy a house now intitially.

But if youre expecting the value at $1k marker, I say give it another 3-4 years minimum.. assuming you have that many bitcoins.
Yeah if the price goes $1k you can earn some good profit. Again it is a difficult task to buy a house, may be within 5 years the dream comes true because in our country buying a new house costs too much.

i don't think i'll ever be able to buy a house in my country with just 1 bitcoin. if you calculate all the costs plus the tax and the cost of the house itself, then an average house will cost you around €200,000 where i live. that means i'll need to see bitcoin reach a value of $228,000 which i can't see happen, ever. it is and will stay nothing more than a dream for all of us.
1449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stable, stable, stable! on: April 10, 2016, 11:06:10 AM

i think it's normal to think the price may go to below $400 levels as bitcoin has surprised many of us plenty of times already. i think this month we'll make an attempt to reach $450 as we're heading towards the block halving. but then again, i don't think we will be able to hold $450 for long as the price will get dumped down again.

Why $450? Has there been a lot of buying around $450? Apart from that possibility, I'm not seeing anything about $450 that suggests there'll be resistance - the only significance I can see is that the last peak reached $450 - but that was in the context of lower peaks, higher troughs.

I expect resistance around $500, however, due to the November high.

the market is currently in state of repeating. we have seen the price move in the direction of $450 before, and it didn't even make it to that price level. for some reason it won't go much above that price level, and yes, i agree that the charts don't show anything special at these levels, but i find it very weird though.

1451  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stable, stable, stable! on: April 10, 2016, 10:50:00 AM
The price of BTC is going to continue its stable multi-week run.

stable? not even close, price is rising now, and if price rises then it can't be stable, and to be honest i don't think that it will be stable anytime soon, price of bitcoin will just rise next months too because of halving, and i hope that it won't fall down anytime soon

In my view its been stable.

It may not feel like it, but if you look at the bullish prices its never gone back down to the $200 zone for awhile now.

And it`ll only go up, to me thats stable and thats the course of 1 year.

I tend to believe the price is stabilizing too although i am not sure for how long. It may well go back to 300 dollars again.
But then it is also likely that the price will go to 400 dollars. Only the future can/will tell.

Yes price is stuck at a moment but I feel that maximum bottom will be 400 nothing below then that, as we might see price rise in next couple of months due to halving.

I also think it will not go below $400 again any time soon, but something inside me still tells me we will see sub $400 prices before the block halving. Very weird.

i think it's normal to think the price may go to below $400 levels as bitcoin has surprised many of us plenty of times already. i think this month we'll make an attempt to reach $450 as we're heading towards the block halving. but then again, i don't think we will be able to hold $450 for long as the price will get dumped down again.

my post count is also reset. it went from 40 to 0 unfortunately. i hope the bot saved all the data and will be loaded up again to show correct information.
1453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has died 99 times on: April 09, 2016, 12:40:33 PM
It never died but just announced done by some people. There's been a preconceived notion about BTC which is rather nonexistent to anyone actually following it, The sudden collapses and rises in price are rarely effective.

If the bitcoin dies, it will resurrect again as it is in active development. Its weakness can be repaired.

bitcoin's open source nature means that it can indeed be developed throughout the years to make it future proof, but since the beginning of bitcoin there is no one that succeeded in cracking it. and i'm quite sure that it will stay like this for many more years. the only weakness of bitcoin is the internet and the power that miners and node runners need. as long as these 2 aspects are working, bitcoin will never die.
1454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used for Good? on: April 09, 2016, 12:36:29 PM
to be honest, i see bitcoin in its currency aspect as money. the same as the fiat money i use every day. you can basically do with it whatever you want. with fiat and bitcoin you can buy as many illegal things as you would like. there is really no difference here. and yes, these two currencies can also be used for normal things of course. once again, there is no difference.
1455  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: April 09, 2016, 12:30:41 PM
there is no reason for any price decline at this point there is a huge buy power that is creating a lot of demand these days in the market and the only way possible for bitcoin is going up unless someone else decides to fill the market with FUD like hearn.

huge buy power that's creating a lot demand these days? not sure if you are talking about bitcoin or an altcoin, but bitcoin has been flat for quite some time now. no huge buying power and no high demand at this moment.
1456  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do you buy Bitcoins? on: April 09, 2016, 12:27:12 PM
Buying Bitcoins nowadays could be profitable, as halving is coming soon as known

Bitcoin buying is profitable for the users who believe bitcoin would give a peak profit after the halving. Who doesn't trust or believe can just wait and buy after the halving.

the problem with peaks is that people don't know where the top is. and some even don't know what a peak is. that's why a lot people bought at +$1000 prices back in 2013. they were expecting the price to rise even more while it has gone up from around $200 to over the $1000 price level. these people can be seen as gamblers as they buy without thinking.
1457  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: April 09, 2016, 11:12:45 AM
There are a lot of people that is holding their Bitcoins around this time, because they all hope that the value will be more in the future so they can sell it with a good profit.
The bad thing is that you never know what can happen with the value and that the value can also be going down so you can wait a much longer time, and that will be not good.

in fact block halving force people to hold his bitcoin, and force miner to increase his hardware, i think bitcoin will be boom again $1000 again Roll Eyes

why will miners need to increase their hardware in order to mine with more power just because of the block halving? if the price doesn't go up much from the current price level then some miners will leave causing the difficulty to go down.  and once the difficulty goes down, other miners will get attracted by the lower difficulty and put their machines to action. and that will result in the difficulty going up again.
1458  Economy / Speculation / Re: 500$ This Dec ! on: April 09, 2016, 10:58:05 AM
500$ isn't very high level, but i think the Bitcoin's price will reach this level soon

$500 was the expectation for the year of 2015, but fortunately it didn't touched. This time even before the 2016 December we could reach $500 even if halving doesn't take place.

Yes that's possible, as the Bitcoin's price isn't stable till now, but i think we have to wait the halving to see the results then.
I think this as a huge value. If halving brings great profits we can expect this in December. We can't predict anything. Trust that bitcoin halving gives only joy to its users.

what's so special about december that you think the price will go up by that time? i really can't think of something that will happen this year in december that may push the price higher.
1459  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: April 09, 2016, 10:55:15 AM
I do believe it is a good time to buy bitcoin. Sure 400+ looks high. but there is some real big potential here.
Chinese consumers getting into different currencies to prevent losing on the devalution of their own currency for exampe.

the price looks high to some people because the price isn't going up. i can remember that people were seriously doubting whether or not to buy when the price was still below $250 in 2015. they were speculating about the price going sub $200 for a long time. and as you see now, the price nearly doubled from that time, and it even touched the $500 price level. and that all within 2015.
1460  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: April 09, 2016, 10:51:35 AM
theres no panic buying right now to be honest unfortunately, and there wont be any of such stuff in like a month i think because the halving is still pretty far away

i hope that the panic buy will start at leasty a month before halving when people will want to buy as much as possible to earn a lot of money just for holding their bitcoins and not doing anything else

the real panic buying will start once we are only a few days away from the block halving. people will try to buy themselves some last minute bitcoins in order to not miss another rally/bull run. if you want to avoid buying while the price is going up, then start buying today and hold them in your wallet at least untill the block halving. the longer you wait, the higher the price will be. so stop waiting and buy today.
