I think that not the right way. A player can play according to their will. Denying to play for the national team does not mean that they can not continue in other international leagues. A player is free to sign up with any team/league. We have seen AB as an example. There's a T20 series coming up between India and WI and I just checked the players list and noticed Gayle is not in the team. He said he would retire from ODIs after the WC but did he retire from T20 also?

Last what I have heard was that Gayle will retire after this series and might even retire from all forms of cricket. Also he is now 39 and he is not able to perform the way he used to bat couple of years before. So better to exit then not to be picked by the team. |

Yesterday was a fantastic match between Umumba and Jaipur team. Jaipur played really well and due to which they were able to beat UMumba team easily. Though Umumba for me had a good chance towards the last 5 minutes when Jaipur just had 3 players and would have got them all out and could have inch close to Jaipur points but just it did not happen.

The first of 10 T20 World Cup qualifiers start tomorrow with Singapore v Qatar, these matches may not mean much to most people on here however its good to see how these countries are coming along as most are new to playing cricket. Nepal looks to be the best team in this tournament and should qualify for the T20 World Cup. Not sure how the other countries go as I haven't seen them play much, Qatar I believe are an okay team.
Its good to see more and more countries like Qatar and Singapore improving in the world of Cricket, but they face a long battle ahead since the competition is tough in every way. I am not sure if Ms Dhoni can play ODI because he has announced his retirement for One day International cricket. For t20, i think young players should be given the chance. The WI team is not so strong and i do not thing there is any need for Ms Dhoni in this series. This will be a good time where india can play with a new wicket keeper.
Dhoni didn't make any announcement related to retirement yet. He did withdrawal his name from upcoming Windies series, so we are not going to see Dhoni for a couple of month in Blue jersey. There are some chances of his announcement when South Africa- Bangladesh visiting India later this year. This is quite possible that he would like to retire in India by playing for India in India itself . This will give him a good platform to retire in front of his own country people and bid adieu to the cricket. That may be the reason he might have just not announced the retirement yet. |

Don't forget that it's t20 and anything can happen. Moreover, West Indies used to play better in t20 as well as against India. Their team is not perfect but will not be easy for a team like India. Yes, West Indies play good cricket when it comes to T20, but they'll never have consistency which is the issue. They play one match extremely good and the following match very worse. In the world cup matches too same happened,. Now in the T20 they might give their best to defeat India, but India on the other hand won't let it win easily. India has good bowling attacks than WI including Bumra, Chahal, Bhuvi as well as Kuldeep. India of course has high chance of winning the match, but in t20, 2 or 3 overs can change the direction of a game. T20 I would give it to WI because they are very strong when it comes to limited overs match and have a strong batting line up who can clear the boundaries at their own will . The Ashes start in 2 weeks from now, it will be interesting to see who the Australian selectors will pick to play the first test. I'm sure that Warner and Smith will slot straight back in even though I thought Smith had a poor World Cup but he's test match form has always been a lot better then ODI. Warner had a great World Cup campaign which should have him ready for the test series. Its going to be an interesting series as both teams haven't done all that well in test matches in recent times.
Both will be in and definitely OZ will come back very strongly as they have lost to England poorly in the world cup which resulted in the out from world cup. On other hand England will be on top after winning the maiden world cup and would continue their great cricket. |
