Maybe England might really pull this off and lift the trophy, but It's not just as going to be an easy stretch and I don't know who even the bookies would have as favorite here

England @ 2.65 is the bookies favorite to win the final.

That's just as I expected, that is for England to be the favorites even if slightly, but with the odds for a potential draw being involved, this is more like 50/50 odd for the bookies, upon checking on the Flashscore average bookies odds, Spain is the slight favorite now @ 2.75, while England to win is valued at @ 2.77, with a 3.46 Odds for stalemate.

I might end up chasing the Odds for the draw, that seem like the most valuable of all 3 options so far imo, except I get extra insight or let's call gutsy inspiration to go with just either of them to win.

We hope that we won't have to take that route, although even that would be more fair than this 'case per case' stuff that we are trying to keep in place just so that the penalties aren't too big for being a bit late.
I don't know about the others, but I absolutely wouldn't mind if you decide to set up a rule where being late to submit answers equals to losing the round (for example you can set up beng an instant 3-0 loss like in football).

I think that we are all given more than enough time to answer those questions, and those who are willing to wait until last moment for a slight benefit will have to accept the risk as well.

I think this have been discussed at some point on this thread before, but what I might not really like is it just been a 3-0, and 3 points too, I proposed 3 points, but just 1+ goal difference for the user getting the 3 points, because the points difference might end up being a very significant factor here by the end of the season, because the score line difference are often very marginal, for example there is just 3 goal difference between myself at 5th position and CLS63 at the top of the table, while he has 5 points advantage over me, so the 3+ SF might be quite a stretch in the threshold of having an unfair advantage, after getting 3 points which already isn't fair to other participants, while I understand that if the user that submitted their pick score is counted against a user that all their answers are void, it could be a lot more than the proposed +3 SF, I just think we should also be conscious about finding an even ground for other participants too, if such a change is to be implemented.

and after almost having us relegated last season, Frank Lampard is close to be back in Everton
he could not succeed as manager, but as Sean Dyche is no magnet for any player, and Everton can't even sign Gyokeres from Coventry, not to mention any better, Lampard will be back as transfer lead, since players obviously like him, and have trust in him

unbelievable, but almost truth, waiting to see what will happen

This is a huge mistake. If this story is true, Everton were on the verge of relegation last season due to the state and level in which Lampard left the club. Everton are not a serious club if they are considering bringing Lampard back to further harm the team. Graham Potter would be an excellent pick for team development.

It could be that Premier league is a very tough environment to start your coaching career from, but I really don't rate him as bad as almost all Chelsea fans hate Lampard as a coach, and in my strongest opinion, I think Lampard is actually a good manager if you ask me, but the relationship between the Chelsea board and these managers is often toxic and affects the players mentality at large too, still, that's the status quo at Chelsea, getting new players for a coach that hasn't taken over yet, and the coach comes want's them out which often leads to several media rumour.

It's better much better now that Chelsea are on a selling spree mode, because the squad was just too large for no apparent relevance than just some white guy thinks that football is NBA or American Football that he can use money to get just every trending Tom, Dick and Harry to the club.

Pochettino too might obviously be an upgraded tf Lampard, I won't disgree with that, but Pochettino doesn't sit with me like a coach that will always have that hunger for excellence or create identity for his team, he did a fantastic job with Tottenham to be honest, but Tottenham goal for every new season won't not be same thing that will be required off Pochettinno by Chelsea, I'll be surprised if he remain has Chelsea's manager until the end of season, but let's us see how it will go!

What a riot from the Spain U21 team, 5-1 from being a goal down, I'm sure a couple of us with England to win the tournament would be having a rethink right now.

I actually chose Spain at first and then switched back to England; this is going to be an exciting final to watch, but I'm confident that the English youth team will add another trophy to their cabinet; this question means nothing to me because I and my opponent chose the same thing; I'm just looking forward to the F1 and cricket questions.

Maybe England might really pull this off and lift the trophy, but It's not just as going to be an easy strectch and I don't know who even the bookies would have as favorite here, it's just that Spanish side does have really good individual talents that are a bell-ringing name in Europe as well, I understand why and how much we know about the English players because of the clubs they are playing for and the porpulaty that sorrounds them, but writing them off could be a very huge mistake, I'll surely have something on the line for the game, because it is indeed going to be an interesting game, clash of the young titans.

England is first finalist, win over Isreal 3:0, rather expected to see that, and they haven't conceived so far on the tournament

Spain is playing Ukraine, odds are rising on their win, thinking about putting a bet on them, should odds reach @2, probably live

Ukraine is a good team obviously, but Spain is good at all age competitions, and will probably set stage for final with England
Really proud of my betting picks today. First I got correct all 4 DOTA games which was badly needed to boost my betting bank.

Then I made a stupid call and lost half on WTA side of the Wimbledon, not touching that one again. Really unpredictable but used that as inspiration to go for solid favorites tonight. Spain-Ukraine was both to score for me since the moment I have seen the fixture:

Damn mate! That's some huge winnings especially with the number and type of events available for gamblers currently, Congratulations! this winnings should disqualify you from this week freebet competition, and a couple of beers should be on you for the user with the most points for this week across all divisions together  Grin

Congratulations mate!

What a riot from the Spain U21 team, 5-1 from being a goal down, I'm sure a couple of us with England to win the tournament would be having a rethink right now.

I just submitted, I did it mostly on statistics but I do feel some of my picks will be different than the crowd's general direction.
I really wanted to go with Ukraine against Spain in the Euro U-21's but eventually went with Spain.

Let's see how it goes, eh? Grin

I must say I pretty much agree with you on the Ukrainian U21 side over Spain's, but I just had to follow logic over my guts this time, that's why I had England to win the final instead of Spain, because I'd rather err on the side of caution, should Spain to f**k everyone over as they often do. England have the over Israel in what is expected to already be a one sided affair, However, It's just a lone goal difference, with Morgan Gibbs-White making up for missing a penalty earlier into the game, just a few minutes before halftime.

I went with them, I consider them as favorites here. Not sure how common draws are in cricket though Grin

They did a few shocks yeah so I hope they can beat Scotland. Draws seem to always be around 8/1 when I check, something like Bacarrat heh.

The question is which two teams will make it to the final of qualifiers and who will win it? Provide your answer in the following form: Sri Lanka,  Scotland - Sri Lanka. This is a H2H question." So my brain probably stopped functioning at the 6 teams are left and only 2 of them will make it to the World cup.

So yeah, 2 teams go to World Cup, but they will also play in a final to decide who goes... to some other competition. Don't remember what it was but this is apparently a new format, so there were 2 competitions to qualify for from this qualifier.

Still can't believe I waited to submit. Then clicked submit when I was ready, without actually changing my picks. Def brain stopped functioning heh heh

Fortunately for me my opponent, had I one of the finalist wrong, so I hope Sri Lanka doesn't win the finals so I can still the H2H question over my opponent, because he Sri Lanka to win and if that happens, I'll have to settle for nothing but a draw.

We are live back at Wimbledon and am I the only who is now actually finding Tennis as a very interesting sport to watch, it barely gets boring regardless of the match ups, compared, to 1.01 heavy favorite match up.

- we will have qualifying round first. Top 12 players from Div 1 are free
-snip

Schedule for qualifying round will come tomorrow probably.

So this is based on the current standings? I thought it will be based of the next standings but oh well guess I'll be going through the qualifying round. Pretty rough start from me because of my bad standings so far

It might be for the greater good right now, with you saying you're having a rough start, If I were in the same state I'd rather the top 12 from Division 1 are free for the first round than me stand a chance of facing any of them at this early stage, 3 of them are still unbeaten while a couple of us, aren't doing so well down the mid table of the first 12.

Rain Delay is going to rob us from getting some early actions from Wimbledon today.

Yeah, I also like to see how Ukraine is played, but decided to go with logic, rather than emotions and picked Spain.

common sense is to put Spain, I have put England on likeability, they were winning all without conceiving goal, but overall Spain is favorite in potential finals too

will be an interesting round, a lot could be resolved during the week, especially in my duel with darxiomi where we have different answers on all YES/NO questions

my boy Norrie won first match, but I don't think he will see second week on tournament, except from audience

Is Norrie's second game schedule for the second week, because the Norrie's questions involves him winning his first two games, not reaching the second week like it was asked for top four 4 seeds, perhaps, your statement isn't related to the question asked, but just your making point, right ?

I put Sri Lanka and Scotland, without even knowing the games was scheduled for today, but unfortunately for me, I didn't put who will win the finals, it still has everything to do with me reading the questions or interpreting it wrongly, and maybe not understanding the sport well enough to know there will still be a final between them, because these are the two teams that said is left to make it the world cup because question go thus "7. Cricket World cup qualifiers are going on, 6 teams are left in qualifiers and 2 will make it to the World cup later this year in India.

I like new sports, never heard of the names or even understand the cycling but it's a great famous sports, well done Cro2!

Cricket too lol you guys must have been seriously busy breaking brains!

can't complain, asked for cycling, got it there
it is really tough week looking at question comments, and would need a bit more time to answer it tomorrow

cricket is probably a no-zone for all participants

Aside from the cricket being my most hated sport, I still think about 8 of the questions looks quite easy to make a decision, there are certain cons that could it go from making the all No answers answers being a Yes outcome with very small unfortunate circumstances the reason for making go side ways.

For the cricket, I'm probably worse player that have no clue about that sport, although I've played in a paid cricket pool here before but I have zero clue about how the scoring is being counted or any other of it's rules of playing it.

Damn!

The draw still feel pretty much like a loss to me because, just snooping around this thread before submitting my pick would have totally change the outcome, but there's no point crying over spilled milk, finding out all possible info be any means necessary is part of the requirements of the competition.

Now, it's time to move on to the next round, which is playing against a very tough opponent in mitchr4 for the next round, I'm waiting for the questions already.

No way Inter will have a permanent deal with Chelsea, they don't have the money, and they are 1.3 billion in debt.

They only can have him again only on load, thats this.

Inter Milan scammed us out of €115m for Lukaku and now they won't pay up to €30m for the same player; dealing with these broke Milan clubs is insane; they only want to pump money from other clubs but pretend broke when it's their turn to pay. It is clear that they want to run him out of contract and get him for free while Chelsea receives nothing.

It's either pay or Lukaku stays. There will be no further loans.

I don't think they're broke or can't afford him, but they know he's already surplus to requirement at Chelsea, and the fault is that of no one but Chelsea, they were so indecisive with Romelu Lukaku, they had him at first loaned him out year in year out, until it was eventually sold to Everton, I believe that should that should have been the end his spell at Chelsea, Everton had the best version Lukaku for some years before cashing in on him with a deal to Man Utd, the fact that Lukaku didn't fully live up to expectation at Man Utd should have been a kind of signal for Chelsea imo, Man Utd sold for less than paid Everton for his service, just barely 2 years of good, but not so spectacular season at Inter, and there comes Chelsea again, head over heels for him and paid 3x as much they had sold him Everton for without proper thought of how well he'd fit in to their game plan. Inter Milan are just being smart enough to hold their ground and not fall for Chelsea's antics that have worked for them this season in the Transfer Market so far, and should Lukaku stay back at Chelsea, I'm sure they'll probably sell him for less than what they're asking off Inter Mlian.

We have some rumors this week about interest from Premier League in Mbappè.

PSG will do whatever they can to selling him there, they do not wants the player going to Real Madrid

I don't think PSG will be totally in the driving seat of making a deal happen, regardless of them being able to reach conclusion with a team and accepting a potential transfer fee, it's still going to be up to the player to also agree personal terms with the new club before a deal can be completed, I remember vividly the issue be Frenkie De Jong, Barcelona and Man United last summer, Barcelona did everything possible to sanction the deal, both teams reached a transfer fee very early into the transfer window, but Frenkie never wanted a moved to Man United and as such never reached personal terms with Man United hence Barcelona were force to have for another season, so all I can foresee is such scenario playing out between Mbappe and PSG, and PSG theatrics of holding players against their will to remain the club and whatnot is becoming a very evident and consistent issue, while they feel they have all the money lure any player away from their current club, It's probably just going to keep having a negative impact of their chances of get the biggest stars of the game henceforth, especially with their extremely flawed structure of what's expected of a supposedly top football team in Europe.
1535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 01, 2023, 11:05:12 PM
De Gea's contract with Man United has officially ended. And currently, de Gea is a free agent. Yes, Man United did not renew the MU goalkeeper's contract for several reasons. However, because he is currently a free agent, Man United can actually re-sign a contract with him. But I don't think this will be done by them. Moreover, they are currently eyeing several good and quite young goalkeepers like CostaCosta,  David Raya and others

Man Utd is keeping De Gea pending simply because they are hoping they can seal the deal on Onana from Inter. If it isn't successful, they might recall him back to the squad. De Gea has had a good run with Man Utd. I personally believe it's time for him to set sights somewhere else - probably in a different league other than Premier League and see the rest of his career there. Even Man Utd fans especially the ones I know personally wanted him gone 2-3 seasons ago.

I believe I some news about David De Gea being offered a new contract with wages reduction and he has supposedly signed it before leaving for the summer holidays, I can't remember the source of the news, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case, I don't think any big club in Europe would be making any move on getting De Gea even as a free agent and offer him anywhere near what he was earning at Man Utd 375k per week, as a 32 year old GK, especially now that coaches are prioritizing goalkeepers that are good with their feet and can help the team player out from the back conveniently.

I didn't know about the update Ferrari were going to brought for Austria GP while I was making my predictions here. Because of that I picked No for that question. However I'm at least lucky to have guaranteed my first win in the season finally. I can watch the Grand Prix more comfortably as of now.  Grin

As long as Ferrari don't mess up with the strategies at least of the drivers should be on podium. I expect that driver to be Leclerc of course. He might even be competitive for being the winner of the race but his job seems really difficult. Verstappen put another great show today in the sprint race.

Yeah, I really just hope they can mess things up, because a draw with Slackovic for this round would feel like a loss to me to be honest due to the fact that I got fucked over by the Tennis issue regarding De Minaur, but I just want to believe that what are chances he would reach the final, and of course win the trophy, because since Cerendulo made it to the final and won the first tournament, I’ve taken it in good fate because now it’s justified, it’s time to move on and look forward to the next round of fixture.
1537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 01, 2023, 07:48:32 PM
Wow, just saw the news that Damian Lillard has requested a trade out of Portland. I mean can you blame the guy? He’s been one of the best players in the league since he entered and has been one of the best shooters I’ve ever seen, dude is just a killer.

I can’t wait to see where he might go.

Fee VanVleet signing with Houston was an interesting one. Wanted him in Chicago badly.

Teams are going nuts with these trades honestly, and so are players, It's going to be a whole new team shuffling by the time the news seasons gets underway, it's literally going to take a while I adjust to these players and their news clubs.

I really can't blame Lillard, it's Dame time he tryout a new path for himself, and Blazers aren't doing well enough to give him a reason to keep trust the project, as for the Houston Rockets, I'll be keeping a huge tab on them for the season they look really highly prospective and a very young too, If they can keep the structure and players, VanVleet is gonna come in very handy for them honestly.

As for Damian Lillard, Heat is said to be preferred destination, that'd be a perfect place for him, I would have said Boston Celtic since they've already Marcus Smart out Lillard could come in as quite an upgrade in terms of points, but I'm not sure if they will be able to make an allocation within their salary cap to afford him.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 01, 2023, 05:50:56 PM

....

I wasn't expecting an all out activity from Barcelona in this transfer window, but I indeed expect a couple of signing to complement the team's dynamism and fluidity especially after losing two senior member of the team, the transition period of the club is almost done, just a couple of transfer, a wing back, full back and then an extra player in the front line would bring the team to near perfection and almost fully ready for the new season as far as I can tell.

I see the differente odds here, right before the start. Since it is pratically all the other players disputing 2 places, it is more or less unpredictable.

I already won the 3 points this round but I'm still disputing a free bet, if the answer is NO I win the free bet too.

This is a different bet, It's sprint race which is different from the main event, I believe.

The sprint race is current on, while the main race is going to take place tomorrow.

Looks like we know the answer to that last question. Leclerc and Sainz have a chance to get to the podium because they are in the top 3 race positions. Cheesy

Does the racing position gives any advantage? And what's the chances of either of them not making to the podium? 2%?

I think it does racing position does give some form of advantage, prior to the qualifiers or it is test race it's being call, the odds for Leclerc to finish in the top 3 was well above 2.4 Odds, but now it's 1.60 odds the him not finish amongst the top 3 is valued 1.95 Odd.

When it comes to combination and permutation my mathematical skills isn't so great but for anyone that wants to know the chances here are the odds as at the time of this post;

To Finish On The Podium        Yes     |   No

1. Charles Leclerc                  1.6         1.95
2. Carlos Sainz Jr.                  2.2         1.37
3. George Russell                  11.0        1.07

According to the odds for other players, it's seem Leclerc is the best shot for those who picked, so unless Lewis Hamilton, Alonso and Sergio Perez can pull off some decent stunt, it's going to be a Yes to the question.
