1541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to take profits? on: August 08, 2022, 05:55:25 AM
I am mostly a hodler no matter the market going down or up. But sometimes I get the advice to take some profits.

Example: my investment of 300 euro becomes 500 euro. Is it better to take out my initial investment or only take the profit ? And reinvest that profit ?

How do you guys do this ?

I just feel like i'm missing potential profits by not selling and seeing my potential profits go up and down.
I am mostly a HODLer like you so I don't worry about the profits along the way until I am sure that the market is around another ATH and I will take all the profits in there meaning I must have taken my Initial Investment and some profits too, and don't forget you must have invested in the right profits for this else some projects might not survive the long HODL.
This is exactly how I approach it as well. I mean it's clear to me that we are talking about "long" term in a real sense, meaning even double or triple of what I invested is not enough.

My peak was around 9x profit, and I still didn't take most of it out, took maybe like 20% or so out to pay off debts because it allowed me to invest more, and I invested more dollars right now thanks to this, and bought cheaper as well so I basically have more bitcoins thanks to that move, because if I sold, I would have a lot of money that's true, and would have bought back now, but no guarantee about that, but paying off debt means same amount could go into bitcoin instead.
1542  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Futures Trading is not for everyone on: August 07, 2022, 06:05:47 PM
Some people think that its easy to do buy and sell since this is what other experience people portray about how they can earn huge money on their trades. But reality hit them hard because for sure they find trading is a hard path to take especially when market is on bear market condition which other people sentiments can contribute for peoples reaction to get panic and take wrong decisions.
The difference is that there are a thousand people that lost money or earned very little compared to just that one guy who earned a ton of money from a lucky trade, but at the end of the day when you open your social media accounts you will see that one guy that made a ton of profit and not the other thousand ones.

This is the problem, people do not realize that it is not going to be an easy task and they need to end up finding something that is a bit more relaxing in order to get used to, not a major one. If you aim at making 10x as your first investment then you are going to end up losing a lot of money but if you end up looking for 10% then you will do fine.
1543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Whales Store Their BTC on: August 07, 2022, 03:00:55 PM
There are many other topics about this to say how the whales are saving their bitcoins since none can make sure about the owner of each wallet address unless they leak something, you cannot make sure about the owner, because the whales are usually saving their bitcoin in multiple wallet addresses that's how they cannot be tracked by other people because instead of one big fat wallet they will have multiple normal wallets to stay away from getting tracked, also since they have many bitcoins and they bitcoins worth a lot they will spend some money to buy a cold hardware wallets because the free whales are mostly unreliable for them.
I mean you may not know the owner of it, but you could definitely know how it would be done by looking at the big numbers and see address' with huge bitcoins in them and how they are storing it. I personally faced with many people who had 5k btc or more, that was my job for a while (worked at local ledger affiliate in my nation) and I can tell you that I have seen people that printed it on paper to people who did much more work.

So, there isn't a single answer to this, there are methods from as basic as keep it on exchange (look at how much liquidity in exchanges, meaning people put their money there too), to complex stuff like having medallions made with the phrases and such.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: August 06, 2022, 09:05:58 PM
Yes, hearing that a driver who was to replace another on a team yet they had a deal already with yet another is quite the mess up in the F1.
Because I can't see Ricciardo racing with any passion for the team for the rest of the season and probably just end up coasting for the remainder.

It does not have either team look good any way you look at it.
Not like he was winning a bunch of races for them before this neither, he was terrible before this news and this is basically the main reason why he is getting fired basically, he didn't delivered any good results for the past 2 years and he didn't provided anything that was expected of him.

I am not shocked about him getting fired but I think it could be a better deal for the team for the rest of the season. Why? He would want other teams to see him as a good racer, and for that to happen he needs to get good results, if he gets good results then he could find himself a team, and if he doesn't get any good results and races like this, best he could do would be like Aston martin or maybe haas if Mick goes somewhere else.
1545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 44 countries will meet in El Salvador to discuss Bitcoin on: August 06, 2022, 10:55:00 AM

It won't be a surprise if one or two of the countries of this list end up having Bitcoin as a legal tender in the near future.
Yes definitely after the meeting we will some smaller countries accepting Bitcoins officially as a tender.
This is a great revolutionary movement, and we should praise El Salvador for this.
Earlier El Salvador took the advantage of bear market and bought hundreds of coins, now this time they will hold it until Bitcoins recover to their original price. This will surely motivate other economical backward countries to invest in Bitcoins and digital currency.
Let’s see what outcomes come from the meeting.
I do hope that El Salvador knows what they are doing, if they keep doing something that doesn't really mean much, then we are not going to end up seeing more nations that go with bitcoin in the long run. However, if we are going to end up seeing how the system works and El Salvador making money from it and promoting it, then we are going to see many other smaller nations that go into it with them.

So, what they are doing is very important, it will decide the direction of all other nations and it will take a while before we could actually do something about it. What I hope really is that the president stays another term, because new one could sell it right away.
1546  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: August 05, 2022, 06:51:39 AM
Sri Lanka, a country of 22 million people, is experiencing its worst economic crisis since 1948, when the country got out of British control. There is not enough fuel, which the state cannot buy due to rising prices on the world market and the lack of necessary funds. Last week, authorities banned the sale of fuel for all means of transportation except public transport. The country's external debt is more than $50 billion, and there is no more currency in the state reserve. Last month, inflation in the country exceeded 50%, according to the BBC.

The UN states that Sri Lanka is experiencing a "desperate humanitarian crisis." Schools are closed, cancer treatment and other routine medical procedures have been halted, and many families are struggling to get one meal a day.
It’s such a weird feeling to see a nation that would do better if it wasn't for corruption and wealth gap, end up being like this. My nation has a lot more inflation than Sri Lanka, well "had" but now it is worse over there, and the fuel prices are a lot bigger here, and the national debt is even bigger and we do not have anything in the treasury neither, but we do not have people uprising.

Meaning that, even though our nation is as corrupt as the next guy, Sri Lankas also had a wealth gap that wasn't understandable, if you have 10 people living like kings when millions starve on the streets, then you are going to get riots and there is no way of avoiding that at all.
1547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 04, 2022, 09:43:28 PM
Mercedes really started to seem that they were really recovering. Ferrari are making too many mistakes now and this is quite likely to cost them very much. I'm not even saying that Leclerc would lose his chance to become the champion of this season. Because he is already in a really bad situation as he is 80 points away from Verstappen. Ferrari should at least focus on not losing in the constructor standings. Even though they have been bad they can still catch up with Red Bull.
At this point , Ferrari should totally rethink their strategy , maybe even hire a new one as back up or as principle because it's clearly that the current group of Ferrari is not working and it will not work for the rest of the season. Meanwhile , summer break is here and Binotto is hiding from the news and press , thinking that if he let some days passes by , media and the fans will forget about it. Well ...I think this time , Binotto might be out until summer break is over. Who can replace him ? Hmm...hard to tell yet.

You're right , at this point , Mercedes will catch Ferrari and will overtake them in constructor championship and I think they will.
I told this a long time ago, instead of trying to find a way to beat Red Bull, they should try to find a way to not beat themselves because they keep doing that. For make it clear, Max started 10th, then he worked his way to ahead of Charles, then he had a spin, lost his place, and then he went ahead of Charles all over again.

I am sorry but that basically tells me that it is not really a good team to be in at all. Maybe people would argue against that, but it's the truth. Ferrari should fire everyone at the end of this year, like literally everyone from Binotto to guy who carries stuff, and they should hire them all from other teams or other leagues and find a good team.
1548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is about to have its biggest monthly gain since October 2021. on: August 04, 2022, 07:45:07 PM
It is good news that the market has seen such strong action since the recent lows. I think we still have a few months of accumulation before the tides turn and the price starts it’s ascent for the next run. Support has been surprising though. The market to me feels pretty strong as we approach mtgox distribution time.
the good thing is, the price hasn't continued to further down to $10k which is really kinda hard for the investors to recover soon. Thankfully we are heading to the point where we see some light at the end of the tunnel this might be just some speculation but in reality, it could really happen. Based on the current crypto market movement, the price is slowly changing course positively and it's all green in the market this week until today it has never stopped. it's slowly regaining its old price, we never know it could be the first step to getting back to $30+ again or more.
That is more than enough for us, there isn't really a discussion about what to do when you have something so special in your hands. I get that people may or may dislike the fact that it didn't reach 10k. Liked is easy to explain because people want it to go up, but dislike is a bit more hidden which is the fact that it would take a while before people could realize they can't buy it that cheap again, hence why they wanted it to be cheaper.

This is why I do not see how that would not matter, I believe that it would be going up soon but that doesn't change the fact that even if it goes up, we could always keep on buying even at higher prices, because having more bitcoins could never hurt.
1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: August 03, 2022, 07:04:51 PM
Dinamo Kyiv match was disappointing for Fenerbahce. Jorge Jesus stumbled on his first serious test. Fenerbahce and Jesus now have the UEFA Europa League 3rd Preliminary Round exam. Let's see how they leave here. Slovacko Technical Director Martin Svědík: "Fenerbahce will definitely not be able to knock us out." They are more than ready for the match. Fenerbahce has revised almost the whole team since the beginning of the season. They have too many players and the pieces that should be in the team have not fallen into place. The biggest shortcoming is that they still don't have a center forward and they have a hard time getting to the result. They need to handle this before the league starts and rehearse in front of them. A good match is waiting for Fenerbahce.
It is understandable for them to lose such an important game because it was the first competitive game, team wasn't ready yet and that is why they didn't know what to do and they played very well too, they just got unlucky which was the situation. So, what we will see is that they will get better, they are still lacking a big goal machine type of striker, which they will probably not get this year, but at the very least it was a good off-season and they will be good in the league.

Galatasaray on the other hand keep on making transfers that are so amazing and they are not even in Europe this year, meaning they will lack funds, so they better win the league or it will be a terrible wake up call for them by their accountants.
1550  Economy / Economics / Re: Solar panels set to be mandatory on all new buildings under EU plan on: August 03, 2022, 05:18:17 PM
A new and promising technology, flexible solar panels. Advantages - there are no strict requirements for the mounting surface, convenience, convenient dimensions, a fairly good indicator of efficiency. While probably not the cheapest solution, but I think over time it will become much more affordable. Now, along with a hydro-thermal layer on the surface of buildings, an electrical generating layer can be applied! This solution is just right for large urban developments.
Happy viewing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9BRwVPLJOw
Honestly I wasn't expecting a marketing for a solar panel here, definitely was out of the blue. But the main problem with solar panels is not how strict they are or anything like that, it's transfer of energy and as long as that's not solved, we are going to keep coming back to the same conclusion.

Unless you plan on building wires from one place to another for miles which makes it quite difficult, then you have to find a way to get that energy from solar panels, and allow them to travel the world in a box or whatever and be easy to transfer. If you are doing it and then you have a big big loss of energy meanwhile, then that is the problem we are facing today and this doesn't solve that.
1551  Economy / Economics / Re: EU countries agree deal to cut use of gas this winter on: August 03, 2022, 09:25:53 AM
I agree that this is their only choice, however this is going to affect their citizens a lot, with a lower supply even if the demand is somehow artificially lowered the price of gas will go up since there are limits to how much they can lower their consumption, so the EU better hopes that the winter that is coming is benevolent with them otherwise they may face shortages which will put the lives of some people at risk at the regions where the cold is the harshest.
At this point, the EU is banking on hypothetical scenarios. They are assuming that they will be able to secure more gas supplies from non-Russian sources such as the United States and will be able to lower the gas consumption within the EU by a large amount. And there is no guarantee that things will go as planned. For example, the fire at one of the LNG facilities in the United States has reduced American LNG supplies. EU's plan to restart coal and nuclear powerplants to make up for the shortfall from gas fired power plants have also run in to obstacles.
I am not saying that it would be enough because we all know it won't be enough and there will be shortage, that is as clear as day. But, when nations get together to decide on ruining another nation, that matters more to them then giving up gas. They can give up gas, oil, wheat and many other things just to make sure that Russia doesn't kill any more Ukrainians.

If you allow them to continue to do this, then what does it say about another nation killing some other innocent people? If you allow Russia to do this, then you are telling the world that it is okay and nobody will mind and we will keep buying more from you. So sanctions do matter, cutting gas do matter, not working with Russia ever again do matter because it is sending a message.
1552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 02, 2022, 08:06:45 PM
although there has been no significant improvement, Mourinho as a coach is preparing players who will make Roma return to good performance. Don't just focus on Dybala, there are other players who are expected to strengthen Roma like Andrea Belotti who has been offered a salary of 2.8 million Euros accompanied by bonuses based on performance every season. And Wijnaldum who is eager to join Rome with a permanent purchase option of 30 million Euros.

AS Roma 2022/2023 Official Transfer

Transfer In
Nemanja Matic - Manchester United
Mile Svilar - Benfica
Zeki Celik - Lille
Paulo Dybala - Juventus

Transfer Out

Paul Lopez - sold
Cengiz Under - sold
Robin Olsen - sold
Davide Santon - released
Borja Mayoral - Loan Complete
Ainsley Maitland-Niles - Loan Complete
Sergio Olivieira - Loan Complete
Alessandro Florenzi - sold
Henrikh Mkhitaryan - released
Bryan Reynolds - Loan
It is not a problem to sell a lot of players to get a few better, that is actually quite good approach and I like that. But the reality is that they haven't done a great deal for a long time. People still see Roma as the place that would require a lot more money to go to, and a lot less money to get out from. Many players were sold under their real value, and if you look at transfermarkt you will realize that they left a ton of money on the table.

This is why I believe that the best thing to do would be making sure that they are doing a whole lot better and not just now, because if they do not get any good results, they won't actually be doing that much better financially neither.
1553  Economy / Economics / Re: You don't earn money only from others, but also when you avoid spending your own on: August 02, 2022, 01:19:21 PM
Exploring alternative means of income does not necessarily involve getting a new job or venturing into a new asset but it also involves limiting nonsensical expenditures on your part. I think it is essential that people should determine their wants versus their needs; the latter being the more essential in terms of priority in spending compared to the former.

If a person can determine and check his expenditures, he will also realize the things that are not worth spending on, thus saving more cash in the process.
This is what I used to think as well. I always looked for more income because I believed that if I could make a tons of money then I could retire easily and I wouldn't have this problem. However, soon I realized that while I was working hard to make a lot of money for myself, then it hit me, I was missing life and I was spending 20 hours a day making money that I wouldn't be even spending.

This is why I need to just reel that back in, and hope that I didn't do anything wrong to my health or my mind, and I am working a normal job now. I love the fact that I do not have to worry about anything extra anymore and I love my job anyway, so it doesn't feel like "work" after all. I want to write a book one day, maybe I will work hard on that again but that’s it.
1554  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit 100k or more in 2022? on: August 02, 2022, 09:34:55 AM
You're right, before we can expect any ATH should be after the next halving which is somehow around 2024, but before then the price can be as good as favourable when it beat back the range of $20k and exceed the $43k it started dropping from earlier this year, we cannot exclude the effect of demand and supply, because that is the major tuner of volatility in bitcoin price.
I agree, since there is always hype and FOMO months before and after the halving, $100k is only possible to happen after the halving.   I also don't think that 100k is achievable this 2022 because of the current sentiment of the market.  Aside from that, there is no new huge flow of funds coming in to the Bitcoin market so I think reaching $100k  will be very difficult if our time fram is only until the end of 2022.
I do not think that it has to be another halving for this to stick. I do believe that this has been something that we should have seen long time ago, but even if we haven't, that means we could still it before that date comes. What I believe is that the price of bitcoin could hit 100k before the halving because the price could recover faster.

Look at 2021 April and October, it was just a few months between them and somehow it still managed to be so important, and I agree that it is not going to be that quick now that it has been half a year and more, but it could happen in a year for example, by 2023 summer we could hit 100k easily if the bull market comes.
1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 02, 2022, 07:48:06 AM
~ However, in events that more backlashes and higher inflation negatively affect the crypto some more and finds itself at about $1000. What would be your reaction? Will you turn your back on Bitcoin or has your investment just begun on it?
~
$1,000 for 1 BTC is a dream for crypto investors, but we all know that it is never going to happen. In fact, inflation shouldn't be affecting crypto in the negative way, the opposite should be happening, right? It's all because of panic. In times like these some folks are selling gold, gemstones and other valuables at cheap prices, because in panic people often do the opposite to what they really should be doing to save themselves. But, fortunately, most people don't panic. They are sober and rational, and that is why we'll never see $1k for 1 BTC.
The problem is that if the price is at 1k, then something must have gone wrong. I know for a fact that there are nations and companies who would be interested in buying a whole lot more to make sure that it doesn't happen. Which means that if this actually happened, then it must have been something horrible, like satoshi turns out to be hitler and he is not dead or whatever weird thing.

I agree that it is never going to happen, those days are long gone and we are not only going to never see it be 1k, I can go as much as say that it will never be 10k or lower ever. This is a made up situation, so I can see "what would you do if it is 10 cents" and it has as much sense as that one.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 01, 2022, 10:20:24 PM
Sergey Milinkovic-Savic is a rumoured player to sign for Juventus these days. Pogba has got injured so they need to sign a new midfielder. Milinkovic-Savic would be one of the best alternatives for Pogba and he might even perform better than Pogba when he is back from his injury. Lazio's demand would be really high from them but I don't think that they would care about that much. Their finance is very well and they can afford him easily if they want to.
Juventus have to compete with Manchester United and Arsenal to get him and indeed Milinkovic-Savic said he want to find new challenge with moved to other clubs but so far those teams still hasn't officially bid for him however Juventus currently on midfield players crisis because after Pogba their other midfielder player Weston McKennie also got injured and he probably cannot play for one month or more so Juventus really required new players on that position and they should be bid Milinkovic-Savic immediately
Savic would definitely be a great improvement for Juventus but we all know why that won't work right now. They are not going to actually get him and spend that much extra money on something like this when they are staring down the barrel, that would be causing them to overpay and nobody really wants that. I hope that they could find a way to get it done, but I have a feeling they won't actually get it done in time.

I am sensing that the best thing to do right now would be using the players they already have instead of letting others to blackmail them to buying someone they know they would have to overpay for just because of this Pogba situation they are in right now.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 01, 2022, 09:50:23 PM
Arsenal fans will again enjoy happy times when Arsenal retainers play matches in the 2022/2023 Premier League season, especially when playing home matches at the Emirates Stadium.
Jesus and Nketiah are two of Arsenal's best goal scorers so far. Jesus scored seven goals in his five preseason games, while Nketiah's latest strike against Sevilla brought his total to six.
Arsenal still want to maintain the ideal balance between attack and defense and hope to achieve something more before the end of the summer transfer window.
I get that it may not look like they are doing the right thing by increasing their hopes too much, but can you blame Arsenal fans for that? They haven't been champions for 250 years now, jokes aside they never got for the title even when they are unbeaten. They had plenty of good seasons with Wenger and we saw what that brought to them, I do not think that I need to remind anyone the results they got and still kept going.

This is just another season where they are seen as good but they are not going for the title, they will probably do as best as they could but they will end up losing a lot in return. Hence why I believe that we shouldn't be really expecting much from them.
1558  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The right time to invest on: August 01, 2022, 08:48:59 PM
Now it’s best time to inverse in crypto currency. After huge struggle the price of bitcoin had crossed the value of 24k dollars. It was expected one of the traders who brought the bitcoin at 20-21k dollars .Because the crypto market was dumped to 50 percentage loss.Huge traders loss huge amount after this crash. Now some new traders earning some good profit with this green pump market.
Not a bad time to buy but I somehow feel the market may move either way right now because while the resistance has been good, there aren't too many green waves either.

I myself buy when the market has just dropped off because I know there will be a correction and in the worst case I can trade quickly and make a few hundred dollars just by being sharp or otherwise wait a few months and see where it goes.

Investing in bitcoins is always a good idea regardless of the time and price because the value remains. I am expecting at least $100k by 2025 and tell me any investment that gives you a 4-5x within a few years Smiley.
1559  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: August 01, 2022, 02:10:00 PM
Now I don't understand, is this birthday bonus to be given on the stake's birthday or is it a bonus given to each person when it's that person's birthday? for example for people who have a birthday in June and even if they complete the level 2 verification tomorrow for example, they will not receive the birthday bonus will they have to wait for June of the next year? Is that?
It is clear that the birthday bonus is for those who have passed level 2 KYC and as per email you quoted above, it is also clear as it is being said "since you have verified your birth date". Means that it is given on your birthday not on stake's birthday. As per your example, I'm sure the user will get the birthday bonus next year as he complete the KYC level 2 after his birth date.
Right, very easy to understand that this is another way of Stake to encourage users to complete KYC imagine how many users have completed KYC because of this promo
Previously they offered a weekly bonus increase for KYC users so not everyone is interested in maintaining privacy there is also another reason because they are not active players so don't need the 10-15% bonus so now they have reason to complete KYC.
This is alright though, because Stake never forced anyone to fill out the KYC, and back in the day they didn't force people to join their forum neither, but they had challenges there, meaning you would have to start an account there, and I didn't and they are still here, they never left.

This means that you are not forced to do your KYC, if you do that then it is great for you but if you do not do it then you could still gamble and earn money and withdraw and would not be forced to do your KYC unless something is wrong. I have seen a few people, only a few, that said they were asked it but those were situations that was troubling, this isn't, this is just an offer.
1560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 31, 2022, 10:03:05 PM
Maybe we are talking about friendly games for Juventus but I think that there is still something wrong about them. They couldn't fight back much against Real Madrid today. Pogba's absence can affect the team in the midfield really deeply as long as they don't sign a strong midfielder there. There are only two weeks to go for the Serie A to start so they had better hurry about this. It hasn't been much time since they sold de Ligt for a lot of money so they can even spend that much money for a midfielder too.
I would understand if it was another team, but we are talking about the team that won la liga and UCL last season vs the team that failed to win and became fourth in serie A which to me is a far inferior league. So it was only normal for Juventus to fail to win, and not even have a fighters chance to beat Real.

The only possibility was if Real saw this as a friendly and sent some young kids to gain some experience, which they did not do and with this kind of roster matchup, I can't see how Real would lose this game. Juventus is fine, they may or may not end up getting the league title this year, but surely it won't be decided if they will or won't based on this game.
