1581  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do long term holding profitable in all cases? on: November 07, 2019, 08:41:06 PM
I'm not so sure if Ethereum is to be kept on long term. It's good coin but I don't expect some high price rise that would be significant on a long term so you will probably keep more or less the same value but don't expect some bigger profit.
On the other hand I beleive that Bitcoin is most profitable on long term and that is worth keeping, more than any other coin, you just need to have enough patience.
1582  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain Replace Banks? on: November 07, 2019, 02:31:02 PM
How could blockchain replace banks? Blockchain is technology that is applicable in many industries, including banking and financial but it can't replace bank as an institution and services it offers. So, banks could only implement blockchain into their business. I think we have problem here with basic understanding of some facts.
1583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: November 07, 2019, 09:24:05 AM
Well, I think it's hard to explain to someone how and why to use Bitcoin if that someone even doesn't have Internet connection or it's not using it. Those are usually people who are not interested in new technologies and progress or are afraid of it.
Explaining to someone like that about the Bitcoin it's very hard task and often without results. Honestly I don't know which method might be efficient.
1584  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We are finally going to $22k on: November 06, 2019, 08:38:23 PM
I'm not sure I know where this predictions come from. To expect 22000$ sounds a bit exaggerated to my opinion. If the source for such predictions are only charts that is not enough to convince me.
I'm not saying 22000$ is impossibe just don't think that it's likely to happen so soon, at least not this year.
1585  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 20,000 USD by the year end. on: November 06, 2019, 06:11:19 PM
To my opinion this is not likely to happen. There is very little time left and to achieve 20000$ by the end of this year we would need constant continuous growth but I don't think there are conditions for that in the market.
Although I'm optimist and don't expect some bigger corrections and I don't think that price can grow that much.
1586  Economy / Economics / Re: Where's my free money? on: November 06, 2019, 12:14:35 PM
That is what happens when you follow predictions from so called Bitcoin expert. McAffe maybe has some other talents but price predictions are definetely not one of them. So, just give up on such predictions and be smarter next time if you want to keep and earn some money.
1587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and philantropy on: November 06, 2019, 09:55:46 AM
There has been a lot of successful charity projects like the Pineapple Fund that was funded with bitcoins. The thing that I like the most about Bitcoin donations to charity is the fact that you are bypassing all these third parties like Banks and all the fees that they add to these transactions.

So in the end, if you donate say $1000, then almost all of that would end up in the charities funds and the Banks and remittance companies like MoneyGram / Western Union does not not take a large chunk of it.

You can also donate bitcoins to charities and causes of your choice, without these entities blocking your donations if it is not approved by them.  Wink

It's true there are a lot successful donation projects that included Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. However many people still don't trust such projects because they don't have high opinion on Bitcoin and therfore often think it's about illegal activities, money laundering or scam.
There are also examples of some charity organizations that refused donation in Bitcoin thinking it's something suspicious. That is why education and awarness are very important.
1588  Economy / Economics / Re: What's it like to live on crypto instead of Banks? on: November 05, 2019, 08:46:03 PM
It could be great to be independent of banks but I'm afraid that is still not possible. Majority of us still gets salary in fiat and have some fixed expenses like house loans or remts, bills etc. With such obligations it's hard to depend only on cryptocurrencies. Even if you have fixed income in Bitcoin because of volatility that is too risky to count on. So only very rare can make enough for living only with crypto and can be independent from banks.
1589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please DON'T pay any taxes on your crypto! on: November 05, 2019, 06:20:57 PM
I think that in majority of countries that have some regulation about Bitcoin you don't have to pay taxes on coins itself, only for transactions.
But I don't agree with advice not to pay taxes if that is the law, every citizen needs to obey law and order in country they live. Otherwise you send the message that Bitcoin users are some kind of rebels that don't respect legal rules and that only puts bad light on crypto users.
1590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin Make it back to $20k ? on: November 05, 2019, 11:32:53 AM
Don't be so focused on 20000$ like it's some magic number. Of course that price is possible again but you have to look the overal situation in the market and current price environment. At this moment this is not very likely to happen and neither in near future. So why don't think in more realistic way and how to use current situation on the market instead of waiting for miracle to happen.
1591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you trust bitcoin related services? on: November 05, 2019, 10:41:25 AM
I only trust Bitcoin services online if I can make some checks, if the reviews are good and if that service has some longer existance history. I always check the owners if possible and the website itself. Also, important is customer service and how they respond. However, there is no 100% certainty so scam or kind of misuse is always possible.
1592  Economy / Speculation / Re: One more dump before halving? on: November 05, 2019, 08:46:00 AM
Honestly speaking the bitcoin market is good as of now with slight improvement and not much dump except one particular dump before week or so which provided further pump, but are these manipulation just to for whales to cash out before the halving and then invest again at a cheaper value to get most profit of out it post halving? Are we going to witness major dump before halving?
Whales are too genius and they have a better plans to make profit but we can’t know if this is just a manipulation or not, all I want to happen is that for bitcoin to stabilize beyond $10k right before the halving. No more big dumps hopefully so we can expect new ATH after the halving, whales should behave well right now and start to consider those small investors like us who are just holding and hoping for good prices.

We always blame whales for price manipulation but I don't think they have such influence. In fact I don't believe that Bitcoin market is manipulated.
The price is more or less stable now at around 9000$ but some corrections are still possible. However I don't expect bigger dump but price might get to 8000$ again before halving.
1593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin and the games industry? on: November 04, 2019, 07:31:42 PM
I would say that Bitcoin and gaming industry are kind of naturaly connected. Industry that highly uses new technologies is naturaly oriented to cryptocurrencies and gamers like to use it both for gaming purposes or in real life. Gaming industry is also opportunity to promote Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
1594  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Holds Above $9k on: November 04, 2019, 06:04:21 PM
Currently the price seems to hold level above 9000$. However don't forget that Bitcoin is volatile and that price can change any time in both directions. Some are satisfied with that price and some have bigger expectations until the end of the year.
I don't expect some bigger dumps but still some corrections are still possible so don't be surprised if the price doesn't keep the level you desire.
1595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A rising number of Americans own crypto and nearly 13 million women says study.. on: November 04, 2019, 03:04:41 PM
It's simply unrealistic; according to a survey of 2,068 participants commissioned by Finder. That means roughly 36.5 million Americans own some form of crypto.
2068 participants don't represent 36.5 million Americans, how absurd, this study does not make sense.
If the study report how much Americans registered on some major exchanges in the U.S like coinbase, gemini, bitstamp etc, it would be more rational to conclude how much people involved and have invested in crypto.

Exactly, something in this study doesn't seem to be right. Numbers are strange, exaggerated and don't fit although at first glance the results look nice. But somehow I don't think that the sample and method were correct and therefor this survey isn't reliable.
1596  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Bankers Say Cryptocurrencies Do Not Threat The Global Financial Stability on: November 04, 2019, 02:15:02 PM
Well, I have to say I agree with that.
Cryptocurrencies are still not regulated in majority of countries and not introduced into economy and financial system. Don't also forget that relatively small number of people is using cryptocurrencies and the volume of funds isn't big. Also, many people are just holding their coins instead of placing them in real world so I can't see how all this together could influence the economic stability.
1597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is difficult to accept in countries on: November 04, 2019, 09:58:11 AM
We will get to the point when Bitcoin and Blockchain cannot be ignored anymore. So far its good that people are approaching Bitcoin and they invest into it or even more they build around its ecosystem. In future Governments will adopt Bitcoin ( or some of them will build their own in order to control the funds which will only be applied for current citizen who don't believe in Bitcoin and they want a national cryptocurrency ) but yea in some countries people still see Bitcoin as the biggest bubble ever created and they don't even want to inform about it in order to find what is really behind Bitcoin, THE BLOCKCHAIN!

First of all we have to make the difference between Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency and blockchain as technology. It's very likely that governments will accept and implement blockchain in different areas but I'm not so sure about Bitcoin. However I do expect some regulation in most of countries regarding cryptocurrencies because by now everyone is aware they can't be ignored. Still that doesn't necessary mean their implementation in formal economy and financial system.
1598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Just Love the Game of a Totalitarian State on: November 03, 2019, 07:34:31 PM
Well, no matter how I love Bitcoin I don't think it can change the world in way to bring peace and freedom to everyone. That is kind of utopia.
However Bitcoin represents change and kind of freedom at least in sense that we have choice and alternative when it comes to finances. Also people in countries with totalitarian society can use Bitcoin as long as they have Internet access.
1599  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Smart hodling vs just hodling on: November 03, 2019, 05:52:12 PM
Even if you decided just to hold your coins and not trade them your business doesn't end up there. You always have to watch the market and the movements and react if necessary to save or to enlarge your portfolio. That is for me smart holding. And you need to have the plan, what is your final goal.
1600  Economy / Economics / Re: What should I convert my money into? on: November 03, 2019, 01:42:48 PM
No matter what you choose to invest into diversify your funds, as they say don't put all eggs into one basket.
My favorite would be Bitcoin and majority of funds I would invest in it. The rest depends on your preferences. But don't think that once you've invested the funds the work is done., you have to watch the market all the time to know what is going on and to prevent possible losses.
