1381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cannot be decentralized if the Internet is centralized on: December 28, 2019, 08:23:59 AM
It's no secret that in today's world, big companies like Google, Facebook, and even Amazon control the Internet.

Can you elaborate? As I know, the Internet network is still largely decentralized, and thanks to tools like encryption, ToR, VPN, proxies it's impossible to control users. It's impossible to make a "turn Bitcoin off" button, so I wouldn't worry about it. There are problems with lack of competition between Internet service providers in some places, but it doesn't have any strong implications for Bitcoin.

I have to say I don't understand what is exactly the point.
You've said that big companies like Facebook and Google control internet. Maybe that is partialy true but I wouldn't say that they control internet but users of the internet, or better to say their data.
On the other hand I don't see how this is connected with Bitcoin. When we say that is decentralized that means that it doesn't have some central authority like central banks or similar who would control it or define it so that doesn't have anything to do with internet

I think he just mixed the  meanings of decentralization and possible control of internet users by ISPs and big companies like Google or Facebook but I don't think he can prove the point about connection with Bitcoin.
1382  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Excessive confidence in cryptocurrency trading. on: December 27, 2019, 09:50:02 PM
If you don't have self confidence better don't trade. True, confidence usually comes with experience and knowledge but still at the very begininig you have to beleive in what you are doing. Otherwise you will make your decisions very hard, often hesitating and without firm direction and that usualy doesn't end well.
However, too much confidence can also be bad for trading because you will not be cautious enough and you might igmore warning signs.
1383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is fooling around with btc Price? on: December 27, 2019, 07:22:43 PM
Well, for me it's hard to understand that every time when price goes down users think that price is manipulated and some individuals or gropus, usually whales are to be blaimed for that. On the other hand they claim.that Bitcoin is decentralized and independent so manipulation of price doesn't go along with that.  It's funny how therr always needs to be some explanation "out of control" every time when price isn't favourable.
1384  Economy / Speculation / Re: December’s Significance for Bitcoin: All-Time Highs and Bearish Bottoms on: December 27, 2019, 01:17:33 PM
Every year in December we have the same discussion. How December influences Bitcoin price, why price falls down and how much will Bitcoin rise next year, will 2017 price scenario repeat again?
I think that current price correction doesn't have anything to do with December or increased activities in.exchanging to fiat, it would have happened anyway. Also, I don't expect bigger price jump next year, 10000 in first six months could be the peak.
1385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Business ideas with 60 Bitcoin? What would you do? on: December 27, 2019, 09:59:55 AM
60 Bitcoins is a big amount of money and you don't need to invest all of that in business. Keep something as a long term investment.
If I were at your place I would invest in some real life businesses, not online virtual business. The type of business also depends a lot of country you live in and what is your knowledge and experience about any business. From my perspective and place where I live construction companies are very profitable as well as ICT startups.
I wouldn't suggest that you start lending business, it's too risky and too big chances for potential losses.
1386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deutsche Bank predicts cryptocurrency could replace fiat by 2030. on: December 26, 2019, 06:14:33 PM
Honestly, I don't think that will happen.
Cryptocurrencies will further develope, they will find their place in economy and finances, bigger adoption will follow.
However, cryptocurrencies will not replace fiat and fiat currencies will continue to be the pilar of world economies, that is not going to change. Due to its features and characteristics cryptocurrencies just can't fully support economies and world finances. So, to my opinion this is exaggerated prediction.
1387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would a Crypto Based Economy Make Things Safer? on: December 26, 2019, 08:40:05 AM
I am not expert in economy but I think it would be better in the future if we will have the crypto based economy, but not at the moment, it will take few decades more before the fully adoption, so it's not a good idea for the moment to have a crypto based, since it will  be too hard for those who are in poor areas who doesn't know how to operate computer. So, it will take more time.

The question is if another few decades will be enough. Adoption is getting rather slow, many countries still don't know how to regulate cryptocurrencies and how to introduce them into economy system. This might take a while.
Blockchain technology could make economy more transparent although I'm not sure if that would increase safety too.
1388  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to double capital in 2 months? on: December 25, 2019, 09:48:54 PM
This is very challenging. Maybe it's possible to double your capital in two months but in ideal conditions in the market. To my opinion it's better to set some more modest goal that is easier to achieve and at the end you might not get disappointed and still you will earn some profit.  Always have realistic and achievable goals, that is in trading very important.
1389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving Price Prediction $55,000 - $130,000 on: December 25, 2019, 06:16:21 PM
Another exaggerated prediction, that is all I can comment.
I think that expectations from halving are too high. It might influence the price in positive way, however that will probably be on short term and on a smaller scale. I don't expect some huge price jump and especialy not price range of 55000$ or more, I.don't think that is likely at all.
1390  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxless society idea on: December 25, 2019, 05:02:01 PM
Taxless society is utopia. Governments and local communities need to financed by citizens and if you ask me citizens need to contribute to wellfare of community they live.
So to my opinion the problem is not in taxation but in the way that money is spent and that taxation is fair and reasonable. In some countries there are cases where that money ends in private pockets or is spent on totaly wrong projects and not for the benefit of citizens and community and that is the reason where people have the reason to be angry and not to support taxation.
Honestly, I don't see how development of technologies can contribute for taxation not to be implemented. Maybe through blockchain it can help to become more transparent
1391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Can I pay in Bitcoin here?" - go and ask this each time you pay something! on: December 25, 2019, 08:46:10 AM
I don't think that is the way for merchants to accept Bitcoin more. Maybe that is kind of pressure on them but still if they don't see their profit and benefit in Bitcoin payments they will not introduce it.
In my countries very few places accept Bitcoin as a payment and that will not change much any time soon, that is why I use Bitcoin debit card and don't bother too much if merchant is accepting Bitcoin or not.
1392  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of crypto trading do you recommend with $50 investment? on: December 24, 2019, 09:25:29 PM
I think it's very conservative investment but as you said you are not so about profit
You can invest that sum in Bitcoin, don't go for altcoin. Yes, you will get a few satoshies but for the begininig it's important just to get the feeling of the market and to see how things are functioning. I suggest you to play a bit with that sum, you don't have to be under pressure because of loss and when you get some selfconfidence go for a larger sum.
1393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Xapo Debit Cards to be mailed this month! on: December 24, 2019, 08:02:15 PM
I didn't get that email from Xapo, hope I will and that they will provide debit cards for my country too.
I had Xapo card before until the moment they got into problem with Visa and withdrew all cards. However, that card wasn't perfect, from time to time I had problems in.stores so I hope they fixed that issues.
Also, I don't think they are the only Bitcoin debit card provider that don't exchang your Bitcoin immediately but in the moment when you make the purchase. Sometimes that is not very convenient because you never know how much money you exactly have at your disposal.
1394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs should target developing and third world countries on: December 24, 2019, 04:50:55 PM
That sounds reasonable but on the other hand there are two issues that might appear. Quality of infrastructure and knowledge and awareness of people about cryptocurrencies. If they are not familiar with Bitcoin and other crypto they will not use ATMs. So, fiirst there is some education and promotion needed in ordee that Bitcoin ATMs have the desired effect.
1395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hasn't any altcoin replaced bitcoin? on: December 24, 2019, 02:05:21 PM
The reason is that no altcoin didn't reach the value that Bitcoin has and it's isn't that applicable in real world. Bitcoin maybe has the advantage of being first cryptocurrency but to my opinion no othe altcoin has potential to get even close to Bitcoin, it's hard to compete with it. Probably that wouldn't change in near future.
1396  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Over? on: December 24, 2019, 07:42:55 AM
I have seen more than 100 threads with similar subject in the time I have spent here. The answer is NO and will be a big NO. Bitcoin's popularity is higher than ever and people are trying to get a piece of it whenever there is a dump. Hopefully, we will see a new rise in 2020 and another Bull run for alts.

Just 100? I think it's more.
The sad fact is that some user will always raise this question every time when the Bitcoin price falls. Thede are usualy unexperienced users with little or no knowledge at all about Bitcoin but still it could be very annoying.
I also have to say that I gor a little bit tired of explaining that volatility is normal, that Bitcoin has actually just started, that is the future and that with time it will only be adopted more. So.I guess I will avoid such threads.
1397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price and Christmas. on: December 23, 2019, 09:31:55 PM
Despite some different opinions I don't think there is connection between Christmas and Bitcoin price. Some think that price is falling because users are cashing out their coins but I don't think that happens in such extent that would influence the price significantly.
Also, I don't think that Bitcoin behaves according to some predictable pattern that would allow us to make some solid conclusions.
1398  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Options is a bit overwhelming for me. Any Suggestions to make it easier? on: December 23, 2019, 07:10:43 PM
I'm not sure what do you mean by trading options but I suppose you mean trading in general.
Yes, it could be overwhelming. It's demanding, time consuming, it requests skills and knowledge, so in one word it's not easy. That is why I say that trading isn't for everyone and there is nothing to be shamed of if you come to this conclusion.
So with time it might get a bit easier when you get some more experience and when you develope your own strategy and goals but don't expect that you could do trading without efforts and without losses.
1399  Economy / Economics / Re: How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job? on: December 23, 2019, 03:27:23 PM
I do manage my portfolio efficiently while having a full time job by just going for long term investment within my portfolio, and the best example is buying a bitcoin because i don't need to put a lot of time and effort just to monitor it everyday that i can only do it weekly or monthly.

That is one way, although isn't very easy at least from my experience.
Having long term investment portfolio isn't that time consuming but still it demands your efforts and focus and sometimes daily works and obligations take you away. Day trading and short term investment are almost impossibe when you have regular work and long term investment and trading is possible but the key is to find the right balance.
1400  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin price be $20000 next year? on: December 23, 2019, 12:28:57 PM
To be straight and honest, I don't think so.
It looks like many Bitcoin users expect from every new year to be another 2017 and that price might go up to 20000$ or even more but that is very hard to predict because everything depends on the market and investor's mood.
Currently price seems to be recovering and we might even come to 8000$ by the end of the year but to get to 20000$ takes a long way, continuous and steady growth and I don't know if next year that will be possible.
