981  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we heading towards Recession? on: March 28, 2020, 04:06:05 PM
It honestly just depends on how this whole COVID-19 thing plays out.

Part of me doesn't believe we are. As once this all is over, I wouldn't be surprised if people's wallets spring back out once they are receiving a consistent pay cheque again.

I agree that the whole situation and predictions depend on.situation with corona virus. Having in mind how it looks now it seems that it might last for a few months now and that is not good, that will definetely be trigger for recession.and no one can't predict how deep it will be and how long it will last.
Many people's existence will be endangered that is for sure and at current point I don't think that recession in most countries in the world can't be avoided anymore.
982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: convert bitcoin address to ethereum address on: March 28, 2020, 08:36:16 AM
I would not be surprised if one day I see you complain that your funds are stolen because you downloaded some file from some website. How convenient it must be for hackers that someone would actually use their work and hand their private keys.

Exactly, people are too careless and don't have in mind security. Wallets and cryptocurrency in general are so vulnerable and we have to be very careful what we install, what data we share and especialy we shouldn't give out our private keys. If you don't act like that don't be surprised if one day you lose your coins.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk has been blocked in Russia because of Gambling advertisement on: March 27, 2020, 09:46:34 PM
I hope they knew that bitcointalk is an international forum where we can gather updated information about cryptocurrency. It's a wrong move for them to ban the whole forum if they just wanted to eliminate all the gambling platforms. I think it's better to ban those gambling platforms than the forum itself.

I bet Russians will still use VPN to access bitcointalk especially those reputable members of this forum that is from Russia.
It is ridiculous indeed, it is like putting a poster mocking Putin on a wall and the response is destroying that building, easy! The owner has to remove it himself or else mother Russia will do it for you. Crap...
BTW in the first place I don't think Russian are logging here without VPN or Tor, didn't they?

Probably not, if they are smart enough.
However, this doesn't surprise me at all, it's a normal and ecpected thing for Russia. They have funny understanding of freedom and they like to ban all sorts of things but that will not stop Russian people doing what they want and what they like.
984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and illegal activities on: March 27, 2020, 05:10:47 PM
it looks like that they are mainly categorizing the exchange hacks under "scams" which is also why the total value of it is so huge. if you look at the spikes on that chart you can also see that they coincide with big exchange hacks. one is in 2017 which i forgot what exchange was hacked but a lot of them had lots of issues like that and the other is in 2019 when Binance was hacked around May.

Exchanges are usualy at the first place when such type of crime is concerned and the amount is usualy high so that gives an extra accent. However, there are a lot of cryptocurrencies connected crines, frauds and illegal activities that are not recored somwhere n
To my opinion real numbers and damage are much higher that shown in any chart or statistics so it's hard to estimate the whole range of losses and victims.
985  Economy / Economics / Re: How long this crisis will be? on: March 26, 2020, 08:38:55 PM
Unfortunately, nobody doesn't have cristal ball to predict how situation will develope. So far it seems that we don't see the end of this health crisis yet and economy crisis is yet to come. However, I hope it will not be so bad as some say but if the world doesn't go back to normal within next month or two consequences will be long term and hard to fight. Although I'm usualy an optimist in this situation it's hard to keep positive attitude.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a threat or fun? on: March 26, 2020, 04:18:59 PM
Gambling should be fun for the first place, that is my opinion. Therefore you should know your limits which you shouldn't cross. Once you step out towards addiction that is very dangerous path and then gambling becomes a threat.
Of course that losing isn't fun but that is also part of gambling and you should accept it that way, of course in the range that you can afford to lose
987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of fraud crypto analysts! on: March 26, 2020, 02:03:34 PM
It's good to be informed and it's good to read some analisys, that might be helpful.
However, to rely only on analysts might lead you on a wrong track and make the opposite effect. Not all so called analysts are experts and don't have the hands on experience with market so if you make your decision how, when and how much to invest only based od such analysis that might not be good for your portfolio.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: March 25, 2020, 06:53:11 PM
Not quite but there are some similarities.
I would say that if you gamble every day you are exposed to risk on a daily basis and you are present every day.
However, day trading depends primarily on.your skills, knowledge and experience and gambling stil depends great deal on luck.
To me this is also the main difference between gambling and trading and generaly I wouldn't compare these two disciplines.
989  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not as risky as many think. on: March 25, 2020, 04:52:36 PM
Every type of investment is risky and everyone who has ever invested in something knows that.
Bitcoin was especialy targeted as a high risk investment because of volatility, lack of regulation and basicly without any kind of protection for invedtors.
But if you invest with care, based on knowledge, information and experiences you can minimize these risks and still get profit.
990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corona crisis will be used to implement mass surveillance, BTC to the moooon...? on: March 25, 2020, 01:39:42 PM
Mass surveillance isn't something new and it's already implemented in some countries.
However, I don't see how would that impact so significant on Bitcoin price that we could expect very high rise.
Yes, some people will maybe use cryptocurrencies more but we still can't survive without fiat and still very, very snall number of people in.the world is using cryptocurrencies. So, don't have exaggerated expectations regarding Bitcoin price due to the measures connected with corona virus pandemia.
991  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin fall bellow 3000$ and Gold price will increase? on: March 25, 2020, 10:52:48 AM
At the current moment I don't think this is very likely.
On the contrary Bitcoin price is in upward trend, although that doesn't have to be permanent.
However, if Bitcoins price starts to fall again this will not reflect on gold price because there is no direct connection between Bitcoin and gold.
Besides investors in gold and Bitcoin are totaly different types.
992  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC go? on: March 24, 2020, 06:59:39 PM
Bitcoin is not going low, on contrary it is going high, that is what we should be worried about, do not consider how low bitcoin can go as the question to be asked, consider how high we will get after the halving as the real question. The more we talk bearish words, the more we will have actual bear movements as well, the talks of it makes people question if you could be right, they start to sell because they are afraid.

However, if we talk about how awesome bitcoin is and how much high it will get, they start to think maybe they are missing out and buy that causes it to actually go up anyway and they will be right. So long story short, these bear talks will cause bear, try to limit them as much as you can, always talk how much bullish you are on bitcoin for the long term.

Currently Bitcoin price is moving up, that is true, but so far we have learned how easily this can change. Especialy in this time of uncertainty when Bitcoin price isn't depending on market only.
However,  the question how low Bitcoin can go is the same to that how high can't go, neither of these two can't be predicted.
To my opinion in the upcoming period we'll see price fluctuations without tendency  to keep only one way.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: March 24, 2020, 04:19:26 PM
Actually I sleep well but that is because I don't exaggerate and know my limits.
You can't win all the time, sometimes you need to accept to lose but that always needs to be in amount you can take and afford to lose.
If you have sleeping problem I would say that this is clear sign you need to change something because you are on a wrong way.
994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Italian Red Cross accepts BTC as donations to fight the corona virus on: March 24, 2020, 01:21:41 PM
In this time of crisis everything any help is welcomed, including Bitcoin donations. Like every bad situation has also the good sides so this corona virus crisis isn't exception. Many people will use more online services and some will also use more cryptocurrencies and accept them better due to this heavy situation for economies and especialy if this will last for a longer period of time. Bitcoin might find better position in the financial and economy world.

996  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If we have great ability, is capital from bank loans safe for us to use trade? on: March 23, 2020, 07:40:07 PM
Times like we have now always remind us how easily everything can change over night. So fast we found ourselves in health and medical crisis that turned also into economy one.
Don't be so sure that you will be able to cover loan and that trading will be so successful. To my opinion to take bank loan for trading is too risky, especialy in times of uncertainty like now. I beleive that this corona crisis might be trigger for world recession that is about to start.
997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 12K USD is the next target? on: March 23, 2020, 06:07:27 PM
In some moment Bitcoin will reach that price but not yet, not now. To my opinion current price rise is temporary and the price will pull back although in situations like this when other factors beside market influence the price it's hard to predict price movements.
I would like to be an optimist but having in mind the whole picture it's not that easy. To my opinion even 10000$ in current situation would be very hard to break and that is the value that I see as a resistance border.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have control or not? on: March 23, 2020, 02:01:03 PM
I do have control and I think this is very important.
Gambling who don't have selfcontrol are prone to.addiction and that can be very dangerous.
Also, you need to know how to control your emotions and your rections because gambling will bring you some bad things too. You have to learn how to win and how to lose, how to make your decisions with cool head.
Anyone who is involved in gambling for a longer period of time knows how important control is.
999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sign of improvement to the market price of the Bitcoin. on: March 23, 2020, 12:34:06 PM
Don't stick to current price as a sign of recovery. In uncertain time like this it's hard to estimate if this is only temporary situation or sign of recovery. Don't plan anything and don't be too happy too soon, just watch the market and be prepared to react accordingly.
With Bitcoin everything is possible, don't forget that.
1000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners' Novel Approach to Find Cure for COVID-19: Biohacking on: March 22, 2020, 08:51:47 PM
i'm sorry but this looks like a bunch of opportunists who have seen a way to make some money using the current drama  that is going on all around the world. besides what do "bitcoiners", bitcoin core devs,... know about medicine anyways? they better stick to things they have knowledge in and let other experts in other fields do their jobs.
and what's up with the anonymity?!!! that is another red flag for me that makes say this is just money grab project.

It could be like that, there's a lot of scammers that use this outbreak as an opportunity, there are cases of fake donations scams, malware spreading, stealing of medical supplies. But it could also be the case of amateur biologists who are into conspiracies about big pharma legitimately trying to develop a vaccine, which is still pretty scary, because these people likely not poses the necessary skills and don't follow all safety procedures, so it all might backfire.

Like always in situations like this many pretend to be something they are not to use that for their personal gain. Many just use current drama and people's fear to make some money, we have to be aware of that.
To be honest, I don't trust amateurs in such serious situation like this, it's better to be in hands of professionals no matter what some think of medical and pharmaceutical industry.
