1261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nice Increase in Price but What Next?? on: January 26, 2020, 08:02:55 PM
From beginning 2020 bitcoin has been pumped almost 8 to 10% and still continues and now bitcoin price $7768 as per coinmarketcap and got 4% hike I hope that Bitcoin going to cross 10k mark within in end of January because there are all positive talks going about bitcoin and crypto and right situation for bullish in crypto market.
It's really a good increase of bitcoin price today! It was like 6800$ 1-2 weeks ago. seems that 2020 is probably a good year for bitcoin, hope this increase of price will continue during this whole year and we'll probably see a new high peak of bitcoin's price by the end of this year, probably 50k$ if everything will go well.
A market value of 50000 usd is a bit unrealistic knowing how early it is, at this moment. Things could still change but I hope that uprise would be more dominant than possible downfall as months are passing by. What I am pointing out is that, assuming for a future market value for your investment is just fine, but expecting too much won't be a good idea because you could be carried away that much and might possibly make absurd deisions.Take note of this market's past as a guide.

It's not only a bit unrealistic, it's totaly unrealistic and exaggerated. Of course that maket growth and price rise is expected but real conditions in the market should be taken into consideration and current potential for price pump. And 50000$ definetely isn't the possible goal to reach any time soon, we have to be aware of it.
1262  Economy / Speculation / Re: What set of conditions can crash blockchain or bitcoin to zero USD? on: January 26, 2020, 06:01:26 PM
We are talking about conditions that happen in some extreme situations like world war III or some huge natural disaster that would strike the world or some global hackers attack on critical infrastructure.
So, basicly any situation that would interupt electricity and internet connection. All these situations are possible but still hope not very likely to happen.
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sigh... Do i need to hold and sell it later or now? Quite tricky situation. on: January 26, 2020, 01:36:46 PM
To sell or to hold depends on.your personal needs and plans. I don't think that price is bad or that is going to fall sharply so that you need to sell and if you don't need fiat money don't sell either.
I think that final decision depends on your preferences, whether you are short term or long term investor. Just watch the market closley and then act accordingly.
1264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin valuation forecast for 2020-2060 from $10K to $100K: Is it reasonable? on: January 25, 2020, 08:27:33 PM
It's not reasonable to make any kind of forecast so far in the future. Having in mind how quickly Bitcoin price can change and number of outside factors that might influence the price to predict anything longer than a year isn't reasonable and I would add that is actually funny and not adecvate for someone that is seriously involved with Bitcoin.

1266  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoiners on here have actually used bitcoin/crypto for commerce? on: January 25, 2020, 11:33:22 AM
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general will only advance if people actually use it for more than speculation.

In the past we've seen lots of retailers enabling bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their checkouts, and then been disappointed that hardly anyone has used the function. And we have had some orgs like Steam disabling bitcoin and giving up on it.

So how many people on here have actually used cryptocurrency in real life?

Anyone else want to share their experiences?
Likewise, I have never used bitcoin and never held it to use it for payment. I only hold bitcoins for money and for money, and besides, there is no reason at all. but actually we can pay with bitcoin in our familiar crypto community. For example, my family has a television and I want to pay for it with 0.5 bitcoin, I post it on facebook and in the crypto community, there will definitely be people buying it. I have tried and I only see bitcoin capable of internal transactions, in addition, there is no store want to hold bitcoin.
When a store accept bitcoin as a mode of payment for their items then it means that they will automatically convert it into fiat once they received it because they want to make sure that they will get the exact value of bitcoin in terms of fiat and they do not want to lose some of their profit because of the volatility. That is the truth behind accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment and also the reason why most of the stores don't prefer bitcoin as a mode of payment because of its volatility.

Yes, that is how Bitcoin payments model is functioning but you have to admit that is only logical.
With accepting Bitcoin as a payment method merchants accept quite a big risk so they have to mitigate potential loss and coverting Bitcoin immediately into fiat is the only way.

1269  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: January 24, 2020, 12:30:41 PM
As long as Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not regulated and formaly introduced into financial and economy system they can't help economies in any way. And until that happen s businesses will not use crypto on a massive scale.
So, cryptocurrencies can only help individuals and all othe crypto involvment in economy at any way in unregistered and unrecorded and it's actually underground economy.
1270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Safe Haven for Your Money? on: January 24, 2020, 06:11:25 AM
I don't know why anyone would think that Bitcoin is a safe haven. Bitcoin is good investment but it's risky and because of volatility there is always possibility that you lose money, especialy on short term.
Bitcoin is not some kind of savings account where your money will be kept safe, if you think that then Bitcoin isn't the right choice for you.
1271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make people understand Bitcoin and the blockchain technology.... It'll help. on: January 23, 2020, 08:51:28 PM
Knowledge, information and awareness always help. I support idea to promote cryptocurrencies but to my opinion people need to have possibility to choose.
I think that is wrong to tell to people only about good sides of cryptocurrencies and to pursue them to invest in them. They need to have the whole picture and information both on good and bad sides and then let them to decide.
Telling them only about the profit is wrong.and misleading and that will not help the crypto community.
1272  Economy / Economics / Re: Mistakes That Make You Poor Poor In Cryptocurrency on: January 23, 2020, 06:39:13 PM
Most of the time people lose their money at altcoin. Most altcoin in this crypto market has virtually no use. These coins are made for pump dump and take people's hard earned money. Those who are just holding bitcoin are still winning. And they didn't lose money. When you combine the charts of Bitcoin and altcoin, you will understand what altcoin is intended for. So it goes without saying that altcoin has made people poor.
damn its truly true, I lost a lot of money on altcoins, but what has happened to date, its value has continued to decline. it's better to only hold bitcoin if you want to be rich.
but on the other hand, an altcoin which can provide more profits from the pump, it is better to take a moment in a short time than holding altcoin for a long time.

It happened to me the same way. I've lost my bitcoins by buying altcoin. Many altcoins is not in the market right now. Many have been scammed. It was the biggest failure of my life, that I couldn't make the right decision at the right time. Now I understand that the best option is to hold Bitcoin. If Emotion and Greed cannot be eliminated, people will continue to be poor.

However, many people have lost everything due to the attacks of hackers. One of my acquaintances lost $40k to become a hack victim.

if you want to invest in altcoin it's better to choose the top 10 coinmarketcap, at least it's quite safe, because they move in the same direction as bitcoin and of course most of them are good and successful projects. lucky I never get hacked, I am a person who is so very careful, at least always use 1-2 security every time I save money anywhere. never save a large amount of money in exchange that's pretty scary.

If you choose such type of investment in altcoins maybe you are not exposed to big risk but the chances for profit are not that good to.
Personaly I prefere Bitcoin and since there are very few altcoins that are actualy worth investing , Bitcoin is always much better choice. The risk is bigger but the profit is bettr, especialy on long term.
1273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Just Plunged $700 Upon Reaching $9,060, Correction or Reason To Panic? on: January 23, 2020, 03:15:12 PM
The price of Bitcoin has fallen in the past few days because this is part of the correction, because last Sunday the highest resistance has been reached at 9188$.

This week I look at my technical analysis, because prices are already trading below key prices around 8640$, then most likely until next Sunday, it will be predicted to fall to 8200$ in the first support line and if it continues to fall it is likely to reach 7950$ in the support line  second.

And the worst possibility is if it keeps falling again then 7500$ is a good choice for buying Bitcoin.

I agree this is just correction and I would add expected one. There is no reason for panic although it's possible that price goes below 8000$. That is still not a tragedy, it will only be the chance to buy more Bitcoins but I don't expect some sharp price fall.
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing Number, Who Own 1 bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 07:10:50 AM
I think its a good sign and as long as new people are coming into the crypto community. If there is a world where we can imagine of no one having more than 10 BTC then we may say that we have achieved a mass adoption and then we will see the age of Buy/sell through Bitcoin. We need more people into this right now and volume is increasing which is again a great sign near to the halving.

We are still very far away from mass adoption and these figures who owes one or more Bitcoin don't mean anything.
If you look the overall number of population and percentage of them that is using Bitcoin this is a such a small number. Estimations go around 2 millions people in the world, that is actually the figure that is not worth mentioning in the context of mass adoption.
1275  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You CANNOT trade successfully without RISK-MANAGEMENT on: January 22, 2020, 08:29:27 PM
Everyone that was ever involved in any kind of investment knows that risk management is necessary. However, many are not aware of it and think they can avoid risk or they asses it in wrong way so the loss is often consequence of bad risk management.
Cryptocurrencies are special type of investment where risk is very much present, there is no guarantee for profit and you have to learn how to balance risk and your portfolio. But in that light I don't think that Iran and US situation poses some special risk to cryptocurrencies and I hope that will not turn over into some serious conflict.
1276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short term bullish run is now over, and it was most likely a failed rally on: January 22, 2020, 07:02:00 PM
Bitcoin prices have dropped to  $8500 maybe there will not be bullish again? I do not have a technical analysis of this bitcoin because bitcoin is difficult to guess in the future price.
Will it be possible to return to $7000? even though you have failed the rally but it is only at the beginning of the year there is hope for the future to rally again and can see the movement in the market.

If we will look on the chart for the whole month, then I could say yes but narrowing it down, looking more closely I don't we are just going back down at $7,000 way easy, we are just bouncing back at $8,600 and it seems solid at such point. So we might be able to see $9,000 once again or luckily even touch $10,000 sooner. However when it drops, I don't think it will stop at 8.6k or even 7k, which I fear the most.

I think that further corrections will happen and 7000$ isn't that bad. To expect now the constant growth of price isn't that easy and no matter how 9000$ looks close to my opinion that boundary will be hard to cross. For a while we might have price fluctuations similar like now and the price will probably stay somwhere in the current range.
1277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price. Will go up? or Will go down below $8600? over the night on: January 22, 2020, 02:55:03 PM
For all these questions we would need a cristal ball and if we new the answers we would have been rich people.
At current moment it's hard to determine precise direction that price will go. I don't expect some significant grow but we might touch 9000$ although not for long because another corrections might happen. To my opinion price has tendency to fluctuate and go back and forth in the upcoming period.
1278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who bought Bitcoin in late 2017? Still recovering or fully recovered? on: January 22, 2020, 10:06:18 AM
You meant in late 2017 specifically right? Well, a certain person bought at the peak or somewhere near it, chances are, that person hasn't made the money back, especially if the money is invested in most altcoins.

The good news though, is that if you just bought solely bitcoin, there's a significantly higher likeliness that you're going to make your money back(compared to when holding alts), or even be in the high positives sometime in the future. You just need to hold it long enough. If you bought somewhere near the exact peak of $19,700, you'd only be down like 77% right now. Whereas when you bought most alts, there's a good chance you're down 95%+.

Here we come to one very important characteristic that every Bitcoin use should have and that is patience. No one who bought Bitcoin in late 2017 hasn't recovered loss yet and no one can't actually guarantee that they ever will. So it's up to their assesment how long can they hold and how much loss they can accept and handle to just get over it.
1279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would a Crypto Based Economy Make Things Safer? on: January 21, 2020, 09:06:42 PM
Maybe you didn't put it the right way. Probably you should have said if blockchain based economy would make things safer. I think that implementation of blockchain technology could contribute to more transparent system probably even safer.
Cryptocurrencies by its nature don't have some special safety and are also very often tool for criminal activities or a target of criminals so I'm not sure that cryptocurrencies itself would not contribute to safety.
1280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Monday Is the Best Day to Buy Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2020, 05:51:11 PM
I don't think there is some rule that Monday is the best day for buying Bitcoin. Decline in price on that day is more coincidence than a pattern or rule.
I don't think that buying Bitcoin should be tied on any particular day in the week, the key is to watch the market and follow trends to make the decision when is the most favourable time for buying.
