161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tech Savvy Student Steals $7.5 Million in Cryptocurrency on: May 01, 2019, 08:27:37 PM
Stealing cryptos using SIM cards is not a problem with cryptos. But that the cryptos could solve. In Brazil this practice of crimes is being done using whatsapp. The victim's cell phone is cloned and the thief asks for money from close friends as if he were the victim.

SIM cards are not reliable. Your mobile number can not be your only 2fa method as it can be easily cloned or stolen.
162  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [GUIDE] The BTC Dominance Chart & How To Read It on: May 01, 2019, 08:09:59 PM
Very nice guide, I hope many newbies read this and can truly understand the point of Bitcoin dominance when they see it on CMC.

Btw, if Bitcoin dominance is increasing it means two things. First, it means Bitcoin price is increasing and second your alt will likely to bleed.

I disagree. Although the graphics can induce one to think so. There were periods when Bitcoin's dominance increased even as the price fell relative to the dollar. And it is always important to also have the dollar as a parameter.

Bitcoin is less volatile relative to the dollar than the overwhelming majority of altcoins. This everyone knows. It is an asset with greater liquidity, with the largest number of pairs with fiat, with the largest numbers of pairs with cryptos. But in this market, most seek volatility and in many cases the other cryptos offer greater risks, and in some small situations, they offer greater profits.
163  Economy / Reputation / Re: Theymos is a Scammer? Let's talk on: May 01, 2019, 07:10:29 PM

Trust is deregulated and unmoderated.  Deal with those who've left the feedback.

Trust is not deregulated and unmoderated?Huh  are you sure??? look at this.

Theymos is a Scammer?

NO

Warning about possible fraud is a correct attitude from admin. It's just a warning that makes clear the positioning of the forum and from theymos. Frauds may not be deleted by mods, then it is essential for each user to check the potential risks of getting involved in a project that has a negative reputation among the USERS.
164  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-17] Expectations and reality: economic benefits of Bitcoin on: May 01, 2019, 06:32:32 PM
The problem is that by accepting Bitcoin as a payment method, you necessarily become an investor in Bitcoin. This does not happen with any other payment method. You have no connection as an investor if you use a credit card, paypal or another payment method.

In addition, the option to accept payments with Bitcoin depends on demand. And those who demand this option are always investors, that is, us.

I think it must be very difficult for a public company to demonstrate that a payment method is also an investment. And that this investment is highly volatile. Many problems still need to be considered for further adoption of cryptos. And most do not involve lines of code.
165  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [YOUR OPINION] How can $500 be used most effectively when it comes to marketing? on: May 01, 2019, 05:59:14 PM
I would choose to pay for reviews. With that budget, a signature campaign would be short, or it would hardly attract users who post interesting things.

A review campaign could give you a better look at how your service is, the flaws and positives aspects, and possibly give more confidence for people to use. In addition, users who already use other signatures could participate.

Edit: Paying for reviews does not mean paying for a positive trust. Just pay for people to write one big text about your service in an open topic on Bitcointalk. And accept that they can write good or bad things.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question to Bitcoin maximalists: What defines a ShitCoin? on: May 01, 2019, 02:36:47 PM
Maximalist just believes in Bitcoin. And it considers that many of the ideas that other coins try to implant, could be implanted in Bitcoin like second layer. Such as anonymity, smart contracts and other functions.

That is, considering this, all other projects would be shitcoins.

But I believe that today there are already projects that prove useful beyond Bitcoin. And having a cryptos ecosystem is better than just having one. So there are projects that are obviously shitcoins. Like the thousands of Bitcoin forks that only serve to enrich some people. ETH Tokens that show no innovation....
167  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Adult site CamSoda Accepts Crypto-Currency on: May 01, 2019, 01:55:36 PM
Porn may have the power to demonstrate the best format for payments using the internet. Just like it was in the 1980s with the war between VHS and Betamax. One simple advantage of cryptos in using as a means of payment for pornography compared to other methods like credit card and paypal is the anonymity. Both the payer and the receiver can have complete anonymity.
168  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: eBay sellers on: May 01, 2019, 12:59:49 PM
They use ebay just as advertising. Their idea is for you to contact and shop directly. Eventually their account on ebay may be blocked. But then they buy another account and continue the business.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovery Passphrase on: May 01, 2019, 12:43:30 PM
I believe he probably split the passphrase and saved it in different places. This is a demonstration that this method is not the best way to save a seed or passphrase. It is extremely risky, since recovering requires a very long brute force work. Shamir's Secret Sharing Scheme is best in these situations.
170  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-29] Brazilian Police Accidentally Discover Money Laundering Bitcoin... on: May 01, 2019, 12:35:08 PM
In Brazil, it is not unusual to steal electricity. The name we give to this is "cat" of electricity. Most of the time it is an employee of the company that offers this service to earn an extra.

The suspicion of money laundering is only because that region is dominated by drug trafficking. And who seized the machines was a team of anti-drug police.

That is, they are not specialized in virtual crimes. And they recorded the crime as something close to what they know. But it is quite likely that the judge will refuse this money laundering complaint.
171  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-22]American bitcoin trader may face death penalty over 'sea home' on: May 01, 2019, 12:28:35 PM
I think a big mistake was made by deciding to do something like this near Thailand, which has very strict laws for all possible offenses.

I do not understand either. There are so many other countries with much milder laws. In relation to sovereignty, in relation to taxes. Especially in small countries that are tax havens and tourist destinations.
172  Local / Brasil / Re: Projeto de Lei PL 2303/2015 coloca Bitcoin sob a supervisão do Banco Central on: May 01, 2019, 12:17:19 PM

173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Prediction For A Crypto / Fiat Flippening? on: April 30, 2019, 09:28:31 PM
This analogy with Graphene is awesome
And sad... Graphene is better than a lot of things, but is is also very expensive. The thing is to find what use blockchain could have that is not only better than Fiat, but also cheaper.

Maybe one day people will realize how expensive banks and government are. And they will chose to take care of their money

are, in fact, seized and safeguarded in several jurisdictions, including Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

It would be very easy for them to prove what they are saying. I do not know American law. But perhaps they could even sue the New York Attorney on false charges of crime.
176  Local / Brasil / Re: Volume NegocieCoins on: April 27, 2019, 01:32:27 AM

177  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-22]American bitcoin trader may face death penalty over 'sea home' on: April 26, 2019, 05:24:35 PM
This is the newest photo that I could find. It was made yesterday and according to the article they still haven't found them. I hope they can get away and survive this witch hunt. https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1666424/seastead-lifted-ashore-at-phuket-port

There's also an article saying that "couple’s claim that they are in international waters, and outside of Thai maritime territory, are untrue." Did they miscalculate?

Then the government itself removed it from the sea. The company had already offered to withdraw and pay for all costs. Exactly because it is a complex operation. Unfortunately, the Thai government seems to be little open to dialogue. The ideal would be to remove in a peaceful manner and make clear the rules about any such action in the future.
178  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Do not use Coinbase on: April 26, 2019, 04:15:03 PM
All, I repeat, all exchanges have Customer Service problems. All give as a first response something generic and standardized. This is not an indication that you should not use the services of this exchange. If so, you will never buy Bitcoins using an exchange.

Go to the OTC or P2P market.
179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading discussion on: April 26, 2019, 04:11:23 PM
Again another topic on this subject. Binary is not trading is gambling. It is a very short space of time to have real analysis. If you really want to work with indicators and with some financial logic, make short or long at Bitmex.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: RichCat - Free YOPO Token Airdrop for 10 Days on: April 26, 2019, 02:04:12 PM
The idea is simple and the game seems to be fun. I loved playing monopoly. But the problem is that I need to trust a completely unknown token. Use ETH, take a percentage of each win. You will profit and the players will have more confidence. Another question is about the data. How can I be sure that the result of the data is random and that I am playing against another person?

You may have created an algorithm where the player always loses to a home bot. But the idea is sensational. I hope you make adjustments so that we have more confidence and that the game can be a success.
